Awesome natural wonder! We stopped by in April so the attraction wasn’t fully open. We did the hike and it was amazing. Very cool how you can take a trail down onto the chasm and walk inside it. There seemed to be a lot more to do in season but just the hike itself was really cool. Definitely worth the trip!!

Awesome, We drove for about 5 hours from New York City to see this marvelous geological formation. It is early May so there were not a lot of people. I'd recommend for you to come early, and bring some water. At this time (before Memorial day) many activities were not available but as the staff explained the waters are too cold and rough. The hike was easy although for some the steps could be a challenge. Almost all trails are covered with gravel and easy to walk. Kids friendly, No pets. Friendly and very helpful staff (now we know the difference between Glen and Chasm) We'd love to go back and try the boat ride and some of the rock climbing. Have fun and be safe!

Fantastic natural wonder! The hiking trails were in great shape and provided outstanding views of the falls and chasm. There are about five miles of hiking trails, most of which are near the chasm. The hiking trails are well maintained. Many different viewpoints along the trails. Trails are well marked and easy to follow. Gift shop was nice with fairly reasonably priced items. Come early if you want to beat the crowds. Rafting trips were popular with many people on them. You can do both hiking and rafting if you want or just one or the other. Hiking only price was reasonable. Campgrounds and restaurant were also on or near the property.

We had to pay admission fee of 15 dollar per person to get into this place. The view was great. It was more of a walk than a hike. There were only a few areas where we had to walk up and down, mostly with stairs. It was a loop trail, and quite easy. The trail is only 1.9 miles but surrounded by particular view of water fall and canyon made by 500 million old rocks.

So much fun!! There is a lot of stuff to do, whether you want to hike on land, go tubing in the water, or go over bridges in the air on the Adventure Trail. The guides are knowledgeable about the chasm and share a lot of interesting info. It's a great place to go for a weekend with family and friends and explore all the activities it has to offer. The cafe doesn't have a ton of options, so I recommend bringing snacks with you and enjoying local food options in the area.

I bought the classic tour ticket and it was an amazing experience. I mean its so beautiful here. You get to see waterfalls, the river down below, close up view of the chasm, and you get to float down the river on a raft with a tour guide. Even though the walk is 1 mile, you could be spending up to 2 hours or more for pictures. I highly suggest going in the morning to beat the crowds later in the day. There are other more physical activities you can do, but I think the classic tour is suitable for everyone of all ages. If my 75 year old parents can walk it, you can too.

We have small children(under 8) and could only do the raft and trails. The trails were fun to hike through. The raft was a lot of fun going through the rapids and learning about the history. I highly suggest you go early on a hot day. We went at peak time(1pm) and waited 1.5 hours to get on the raft. Since we were camping at the campground, we could come back and use the trails. We went and hiked the rest of the trails. I highly recommend the orange trail. The kids loved it!

The Ausable Chasm was a great trail and had beautiful scenery. Unfortunately due to Covid, the other activities such as tubing and rafting weren't available. I paid $66 for the entrance and the guided tour which was about 15 minutes of the total trip. Not worth it. They give you great information but definitely not worth the increased cost.

One of my husbands and my first dates was to come here. We came back 10 years later with our daughter. It’s still a lovely set of hiking trails. Park water with you. The vending machines are $3 per bottle of water and several were out of order when we were there. I also suggest bringing snacks for little ones as the trails take a solid hour when walking at adult pace. If your kids are older, I highly recommend the adventure trail and the tubing. To be down the river is a lot of fun especially on a hot day. The adventure trail is a fun obstacle course and a great way to view the chasm. We didn’t get to do the lantern walk this time as our little one went to bed too early. Last time we were there we did it and loved it

Such a fun day! We had the best weather and a wonderful guide who made sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend the river rafting. Make sure to bring fully closed to shoes as you're not allowed in the park with sandals or flip flops !

We had a nice time. I recommend going early to escape crowds if you plan on going on the raft. Some awesome sights to look at. There was a Cafe with some live music playing and a little gift shop there. We had to wear helmets for a small portion of our tour and boy did they smell funky. So did the life jackets PHEW... they should spray them with something 🤮 my shoes got completely submerged on the raft just so you know wear water shoes or something so you don't ruin your shoes!

It's a beautiful place to hike with the river running on one side. It's about 2.5 mile and other route is around 5 mile, there are some water activities like rafting and tubing. Which is at extra charge. The only thing that is concerning is they charge you 18.50$ plus taxes for hiking. Which is a lot for a family and bunch of friends. Overall its a beautiful place.

So many things to do here but I just came to see the waterfalls. Incredibly easy to get to and gorgeous! I spent awhile on the bridge taking in the views and then I took a walk alongside on the walkway to check them out which was very clean and an easy walk. If you want to see waterfalls that are easy to get to, this is the place!

We did the adventure trail + tubing. It costed us 75$ per person. Adventure trail requires you to have proper footwear whereas in tubing/rafting you'll have to get your feet wet. So it's a lose-lose scenario. But I'd recommend both if you haven't done anything of that sort before ever. We went there on 3rd of July at around 1pm and there was no wait at all. The guides are super friendly and also super strict with the rules (esp with the hooking /unhooking in the adventure trail)

Truly an unforgettable experience at Ausable Chasm! We did the premium package, which included the adventure trail along with a raft ride down the river. On the adventure trail you are fitted into a harness, with carabiners hooked to cables for safety. You’re also provided with a helmet. The trail included multiple cable bridges across the river as well as some climbing and edge walks. It was scary at times, but definitely worth it! The raft ride was a nice way to cool off and relax a bit on a hot day, especially after the adventure trail. The history of the chasm explained throughout the tour by our guide was very interesting and fun! Last, we took the rim trail on the way back, which was very well-maintained with some great overlooks along the way. There are also picnic tables placed at many of the overlooks in case you need to stop and take a break.

We bought classic combo, it’s $49.99 per person. The whole park is great, beautiful views and well maintained. The working staffs are professional and nice. The rafting part is fun and with beautiful views, but waiting time for boarding is kind long, we wait like 20+ mins due to the short of rafting boats and staffs in that day Good experience overall , nice place and worth to visit. But still, $50 per person kind bit expensive. But it’s in NY, guess everything gonna come with fees and not cheap.

Loved the adventure! We visited this beautiful attraction on a weekend away. We did the adventure trail which was a fun, at times a little scary, adventure. Our guide Alex was outstanding. She was there to guide us through some of the more challenging parts of the adventure trail. My husband is 65 and I am 62 and we had no problem completing the course however we are both very active in our normal lives. The views are incredible. The boat float was fun and rim trail back from the boat float had beautiful views of the chasm. There are several choices of activities based on your comfort level at the chasm. Hope to be back again to do it all over!

Beautiful place. No guided tours in the winter. Though you can hike three different trails that are easy. Will come back in the summer for rafting and the adventure trail!

This place is stunning! You can get a free view of Rainbow Falls behind the visitor center or from the bridge, but the chasm trails are well worth it. The adventure trails were closed when we went, so we took the inner sanctum trail along the chasm and the rim walk trail on the way back. Trails are well marked and clean, but can be a bit slippery after rain.

We stayed at ausable chasm with friends for 3 days and we had a blast! It is now one of my favourite places to camp. We stayed in our trailer on site 3 and our friends stayed in cabin 3. Our site was super clean when we got there and as soon as we pulled out the grounds keeper was there cleaning it. Cabin 3 according to our friends was one of the newest and cleans cabins there. During our stay we did two main things; the bike trials and we tubed down the rapids. The bike trails were amazing!!!! They were so fun and well kept. The trails difficulty is rated just like ski runs: circle, square, and diamond. There is also a trail called slayer and this is WAY harder than the diamond trails. Overall they are super fun. The tubing is absolutely amazing! We waited around 30 minutes. The wait is so worth it though. The tubing starts out nice and slow like a lazy river and then you go through smaller rapids. Once you float a little farther then come the big rapids! They are way bigger than I expected. So much fun. One we finished we did a small hike and we watched the rafts go down and we thought that if you wanted to go for more of an adventure you should do the tubing. However if you have small kids I would recommend the raft. It does seem more relaxed. This is one of my new favourite places to camp and I would 100% come back.

There seem to be a lot of fun activities to do around here that I may love to come back for. However, my interest was limited to photographing the waterfalls right off Hwy 9. I was pretty disappointed that the tour area itself didn't really offer any great views of the falls (you can go through that part for free). The BEST views are truly on the bridge of Hwy 9 itself.

The walk through the chasm is very cool. The yellow trail is easy and covered with wood chips. The orange trail to see the two dry chasms may be tricky for people who aren't so agile but is fun to do. We chose the classic package who h got us the hike and raft ride. We chose to raft instead of take tubes. Your feet will get soaked on the raft ride so you may want to take your shoes off and hold them during the ride. There's only one small set of rapids that everyone will love.

Best rafting experience for beginners. I don’t know swimming and they made me feel more comfortable and safe. A big shout out to Dale for helping us out in the suspension bridge. Overall the trip is awesome. One of the most impressed things that we checked out in a 3 day trip to Adirondack region.

Such a remarkable place to see! If you go, you need to take the "Yellow" trail.! That will bring you down into the chasm. (Those are the pics you see) It is a bit more of a strenuous hike, but it's well worth it if you have the ability to do it. Lots of stairs and a few steep inclines. We did not traverse the ropes course, only because we didn't have the time. But if and when we go back, it will be something I will try. The "Green" trail is a very easy trail that only walks along the top if the chasm. Not much to see, hence no pictures... The fee is $20 per person to walk any trails you want. They do give free ticket to Veterans like myself, as well as a discount on the rest of the party. *You must show a VA card or ID. The wait was about 20 minutes to stand on line to wait to buy a ticket....strange, I guess. But it gives you an opportunity to browse through the shop and find some cool trinkets to bring home. I would definitely say do not pass by without taking a look at this place. You will not regret the experience, but you will regret having never seen it for yourself!

Beautiful place to spend the day, very picturesque views. Probably one of the most beautiful places I've visited. Can't wait to go back here during fall season. I'm sure it's gonna be epic. I highly recommend visiting this place. They also have plenty of activities for everyone.

I brought my family of 4 here and we decided to take the brief tour in the chasm and a tube ride down the Ausable River through some rapids. The chasm is a wonderful place to visit and enjoy. I do wish the tour was a little more informative. It was empty when we went which was great because we could take out time taking photos. Can't wait to go again.

Very cool natural attraction. The Green Rim Trail was great and fairly easy with really nice views. The Orange Chasm Trails are rougher and good shoes and paying attention to the ground will keep you upright. The dry chasms are neat, especially the larger one. We went late Fall, early November, so some of the trails weren't open which was ok. Highly recommended if you want to see one of the United States oldest natural attraction park.

went alone and had a good day. i do wonder why there is an elephant rock on every rafting trip i've ever taken. worth the visit. be careful with your time. things took a bit longer than expected and i barely caught the last ferry over to burlington (meaning, i caught it with 1 minute to spare).

Wow. What an incredible sight to see. This is nature in its purest form. Highly recommend taking the Classic Tour where you'll get a nice history lesson of the chasm and get to see some famous landmarks. There are a few bridges to cross which may be intimidating for children or those with a fear of heights. After the tour, take a hike through the Inner Sanctum Trail, Rim Walk Trail, and Dry Chasm Trail all totalling ~4.5 miles. You'll be able to see incredible falls, gorges, rock formations, chasms (you can walk through the dry ones) and the best that nature has to offer. There's parking, food/drink, bathrooms, shuttles and even a gift shop at the main entrance. Pack some food and enjoy a day here!

I got the premium package. When we were there the water was extremely calm, so the white water rafting was more of a lazy pool. Nevertheless -Beautiful sights and great guides. The adventure trail is a lot of fun even if you are a pro at rock climbing or hiking. Guide is always with you.

Nestled in the northernmost region of the Adirondacks is the Grand Canyon of the East! I definitely recommend going here in June as the weather isn’t overly hot. There are many hiking options and many touring options as well. I definitely recommend the raft tour as you get to see the whirlpools up close; our guide was very knowledgeable about the history and facts of Ausable Chasm. This is a place you must see when visiting NY State!

It is literally a giant gash in the Earth in very upstate NY. It's a beautiful natural formation, with a lovely hike accessible to all levels, and when we're not in a pandemic, you can float or kayak down the river that forms the bottom of the chasm. Definitely worth the drive if you're travelling up to Montreal, or visiting Lake George or Lake Champlain.

Great natural site. Tour guides were friendly. I went in late September so it was not crowded. The price was more than I was happy to pay for admission into a park. There were other smaller interesting trails, the dry chasm trail was great! It's worth the visit for all levels and ages, unless, say you've climbed Denali etc lol

If you have visited Watkins Glenn gorge, this is a bigger and more magnificent scale of it. You can walk the trails, rock climbing, tubing & rafting down the gorge.... A lot of family outdoor fun. Some activities have age limitations due to safety. All kinds of programs require you to pay. You pay for the program you want to go at admissions and wear colored tag to be identified to join the activities. Personally, I think the price is reasonable since this place is not public like Watkins Glenn State Park. Definitely recommend for family fun...A+++...

This is a great place to visit if your teaching your kids about science- rock layers, rock types, weathering- and also just if you enjoy waterways and waterfalls. We enjoyed the adventure trail, climbing the Chasm and rafting through it! It's a great little adventure for an afternoon! Beautiful scenery all around you and so many ways to enjoy it. The river walk, rafting, tubbing, climbing, the rim trail, you decide! Highly recommended!

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Trails well maintained. Not all bathrooms were functional and some interpretive signs could use a refresh. Would have loved to learn more about the role indigenous populations played in the area. Can't wait to come back in peak season with the kiddos and experience all the adventurous activities the place has to offer!
