Wow! What a hidden gem. One of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had - add the habanero salsa if you like a little heat (I could drink this stuff). Flavor 10/10. Everything tastes incredibly fresh. Service was excellent and will absolutely be back.

Its a small business, so you can tell the food is made with not only passion but skill. So, yes the location is small and there is a limited menu and seating so dont show up with 10 people expecting a large table but the food is made for those who live for this kind of authentic quisine. True travelers know all the best places are tiny hole in the wall places with real people making things they care about. Highly recommend, im a picky eater, so i was sceptical per usual but honestly like a few others before, im impressed, its worth a shot definetly, 10/10 would come again when nearby.

Some of the best tacos I've had in San Francisco, period. I started with the quesito rico, which was a surprising hit. Cheese + shrimp isn't always the best combo IMO, but it blew me away when paired with the chorizo + potato. The cochinita was simple yet impressive, and I appreciated the ratio of pickled red onions to everything else. The fish tacos were so good I had to run it back, despite being too full to hold a conversation at this point. The fish was tender on the inside and had delicate wisps of batter that stayed crispy for the entire 30 seconds it took me to inhale them. Also... I remember having an ube tortilla when Señor Sisig was doing a limited run, but these blew them out of the water. I picked up on the unique sweetness of the ube – it wasn't just a purple tortilla for the gram. I'm unsurprised, especially since I could see the guy making them in the back. I want to inject the pineapple agua fresca into my veins. Do not skip. Full stop. Javier, the owner, is a genuinely great guy. He's deeply passionate about what he does and how he does it. He loves connecting with his customers, and I got to hear about the early days of Al Carajo, how he sources his ingredients from the Yucatan, and his hopes and dreams for the restaurant. I look forward to their success, even though it means I'll have to wait longer to get my tacos. I'm going to capitalize while they're still being slept on.

Heard about this spot by word of mouth and very glad I did. Conchinita tacos were juicy, tender, and delicious. It won’t be long before I come back, their menu is unique and chock full of exciting plates. Can’t wait to come back

Quesito rico was beyond my dankest dreams. Fish tacos were great too, very fresh, though I think I would have appreciated some tacos. Don’t let the prices scare you off—portions are big—at least for me—and feel well worth it.

Jesus Christo take me away. The other reviews are not exaggerating. This place is absolutely out of this world and just gave me the best burrito I've ever had in my life. That was the Principe Mayo burrito. I've never had a burrito with meat that was so carefully cooked and seasoned. This place also has mad vibes and would make for an excellent date spot. They played the latest reggaeton hits and had me feeling like I was back in Central America. This is a favorite and I will be visiting multiple times a week as I try not to visit multiple times a day. MICHELIN STAR PLZ

Al Carajo is definitely a new favorite of mine. The fish tacos were delicious, fresh, and accompanied by a tasty homemade ube masa tortilla. The two tacos the order came with were the perfect amount to make me feel full. The owner was super attentive and gave me guidance on the menu, saying the fish tacos are better eaten in the restaurant. The interior was simple and clean. Minimal seating (a couple tables inside and 3 outside) and a lovely mural on the wall. I’ll be back at Al Carajo for sure!
