To say that they were helpful would be an understatement. They do not only answer all your questions (many, many questions) patiently, but kindly and warmly, with a vast knowledge that is almost as impressive as their Huge rock collection: that goes from fossils to raw rocks to polish crystals. They have animal figurines as well as pendants and rings. We went to 3 stores in one day. This one was truly the best! The positive energy can be felt all the way to the parking lot. The store has a pleasant book smell from their stamp collection (another business Incorporated). Over all, we recommend this store! Great prices, friendly staff, and amazing products.

Packard’s Stamp and Rock Shop sits near the corner of N. Woolridge and Midlothian Turnpike. Just behind it is American Family Fitness. Pun intended, this place is a Gem!! Packard’s is a family run business for several generations. When you walk in you’re surrounded by beautiful gems, fossils and catalogs of stamps. In addition to their stamps and gemstones is their knowledge of the history of the Midlothian area. Someone is always there is always there to help and to educate you about the hobby of collecting gems, fossils and stamps! I used to bring my kids there when they were very young. The staff would let them take home a souvenir from their outside steps where they crack gems. Go by and see them!! You’ll be glad you did!!

This is one of Midlothian's hidden treasures. On 9/9/22 they will have been serving our community for 60 years. It is a shame I cannot leave two reviews. I brought my child by Packard's a few minutes before it was closing. I was preparing him to rush and not keep Mr. Packard and his family late. I arrived stressed trying to fit everything into our day. I left feeling relaxed and grateful for the personal attention you can only get at a small local shop.

Must go to for people in this area! I've been here multiple times, starting ever since I was a little kid. The people here know how to answer just about every question you ask. Rocks, Minerals, Gemstones, Postcards, Jewelry, and Stamps. Everything is also very carefully sorted - stamps are in books like "germany" or "birds". There was even a new renovation in the past couple of years that added a third room to the building. Staff is wonderful - I even got free things from the owners when I was little. Everyone is so nice.. fun place to go to with friends on a day off and get to see history.

Amazing variety and knowledge of crystals, fossils and rocks, both raw and refined. They were enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and showing us cool new things. There's even a big display case of Virginia fossils!

Midlothian landmark is still “rockin”. Took my kids this time and they were so awesome with them. Let my kids play with all the pretty stones. Went as far as to make them pendants out of the rocks they picked out. #hiddengem

Our cub scout pack had an awesome time visiting tonight and learned so much! Very unique, family owned and operated specialty store with a long history in Midlothian! We will be back soon!! Thank you Mr. Packard!!
