I highly recommend Mountain Home B&B. A gracious and friendly welcome, an immaculate comfortable room (Rebecca's Parlor, in my case), a fine breakfast, covering all possible tastes and desires. Most important, Lisa and Scott, the innkeepers, are warm & friendly, can help you with any questions about the local Front Royal scene, and are definitely aware of the joys and travails of AT (and other local) hiking. They will help you, and simply having a conversation with them will make your day.

We really enjoyed our stay. Lisa and Scott are friendly and knowledgeable. Great options for breakfast. And lots of snacks available to munch on, when you stay in. Right next to the Appalachian trail and short drive to the Shenandoah trails.

We had a lovely B&B experience at Mountain Home. My partner and I stayed three nights. Breakfast was homemade and delicious, and the hosts, Lisa and Scott, were able to provide us with great recommendations for wineries and hiking. Looking forward to our next trip to Front Royal!

Really nice place to stay. Very close proximity to Shennendoah National Park and the Appalachian Trail trailhead. Very through hiker friendly. There are a few different rooms on each level and I stayed at the one on the ground floor level by the front door. We were given a small tour of everything when we checked in, asked what time we liked our breakfast and what we would like for breakfast, and led to the room where it was very beautifully decorated and had the key in the door. They have lights and signs at the entrance from the highway so it's easier to see as you travel to there. The building was picturesque, and there's a lot of parking out front. The room had heating, a fan, extra blankets, an attached bathroom, and lots of storage. There were all sorts of resources for hiking, exploring local restaurants or places, and the hosts were an incredible source of information and were so kind. They even gave us cheese when we left!

Stayed in hostel cabbin. Had a wonderful time using this place as my home-base while hiking Shenandoah to Harpers Ferry. Hosts are helpful, warm & kind. $5 laundry. Lovely breakfasts.

Mountain Home B&B was the perfect stay. Lisa and Scott were so welcoming and did everything to make our stay the best it could be. The breakfast was delicious, and Lisa even made plain scrambled eggs for our 10 month old son. Mountain Home is fairly close to delicious local restaurants, two caverns, the top of Skyline Drive at Shenandoah National Park, wineries, the Appalachian Trail, and more. They have a book with recommendations and are happy to make suggestions to make the most of your stay. We can't wait to come back!

Just off AT (0.1 mi.), Scott (AT Thru-hiker 2012) and Lisa are perfect hosts offering hiker pricing, private rooms, multiple beds and shared room opportunities. A ride to Front Royal VA for dinner and hiker resupply was timed to enjoy pizza from their kitchen... great setting in restored historic home. Snooze (AT SOBO hru hiker 2023)
