It's an old cliche to say a place of a hidden gem, so let's call Costello's a tucked away treat totally worth your time. Middlebury lacks choices for good takeout food, but that's not a huge deal, cause you'll just go here time and time again. Best seafood in town, great sandwich selection, and meal options worthy of high end restaurants. And if you're feeling adventurous, use ingredients from the freezer case or deli to make your own.

I ordered the large Roma (capicola, provolone) sandwich, and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Barely more expensive than a place like subway. Eat at this place!!

Incredible meal and friendly staff. We ordered sandwiches for a family of 5 and everything came out hot and ready in about 15 minutes. We got the fish and chips, baby Bella and roasted pepper sandwich, Pate on baguette, and pulled pork. Sorry that I didn’t take pictures because everything looked and tasted incredible. We will definitely be going back!

Do not sleep on this place. I had a pate sandwich that I cannot stop thinking about. We also shared a more traditional Italian that was equally as good. We got Bolognese and fresh pasta for dinner along with mini beef Wellington, all made in house and ready to bring home, which were also amazing. I've been looking for a decent sandwich in Vermont and this far exceeds decent.

Unequivocally, the absolute BEST deli in all of VT. The Paté Baguette is worth the weekly drive from Burlington.
