I go to this place frequently, the sushi rolls always feel consistent and quality.

Hands down, best sushi and service in town.

Food is great and fairly priced. Service is ok they were under staffed for a Friday night. Main courses came in intervals so some in our party were well into their meals before everyone got their food (5 in our party). But it was all really good food. Worth the wait.

This place has a variety of sushis and are creative. All the sushi rolls are affordable. A little gem in Salinas. A definite worth to visit 👍

My favorite sushi place in Salinas! The best rolls are posted on the walls. I love so many options and they are always ready to help of you have questions. Order ahead if you're on lunch break. Only thing I don't like is the hot tea.

I drove 2.5hr to Salinas, to visit my sister and she took me here. OMG!!!! Friendly service, good atmosphere, the menu.... hold on to your taste buds. HUGE menu and I found that they will modify or make any roll you want. Makeup your own roll and get it posted on the wall maybe even get it on the menu. If you are ever in Salinas I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. I've been told they even do Korean food? If your in the area go, you won't regret it.

I ordered quite a variety and it was all pretty tasty. Can't wait to experience the environment once the pandemic is over, the staff is friendly and does their best to cater to you. I'll be coming back again for sure.

I have been come to Samurai Sushi for 20 years. This place is a Gem! Peter the owner is an amazing person and a good friend. I will always support his business. This is the best locals spot for sushi PERIOD!

Japanese food, so delicious. I love this place so much. I will be back with my relatives. The bill was well within reason for the quality.

They have really good food and it is filling. The soft shell crab is good. The sushi seems fresh. A bit on the higher price but you get what you pay for in the portioning. Definitely will return for more.

If you want sushi in a pinch this is the place but I like a meal to go with my sushi. The bento boxes leave a lot to be desired. I am old school when flap meat was used for the beef, it used to be so juicy but now it's a lower grade beef so very tough. The chicken is thigh meat so hard to over cook but it is.

Delicious lots to choose from. Went 2 times this week. Only thing is 2nd time they took our order after 3 people who got there after us. But we're human. Things happen and like I said it was delicious!!!

Best sushi!

I'm fairly timid when it comes to trying new combinations in sushi rolls. However, this place provided a comforting environment and, most importantly, awesome sushi! I ordered a San Francisco Roll and tried a TNT Roll, and both were very tasty and satisfying. The atmosphere of the place feels very community-oriented, and from what I heard from the friends we met for dinner, the place is almost always packed with people. Whether you want a simple roll, something a bit more complex, or one of the other awesome dishes available on the menu, I highly recommend this establishment!

Outstanding place for Japanese food. Nice place to relax, people watch, eat good, etc. Service treated us so kindly. This place has a cool feel to it.

Great food

Awesome Japanese restaurant. Food was delicious. A bit cold though. It was valentines day, and was crazy busy. Maybe that is why it was a bit warm and not hot. Sushi is great with an extensive number of items. I am very sure regardless of your taste you will find something you will love. Varies between hot and mild. But really amazing collection. They also have a dinning area where hot can sit on the floor for full Japanese experience. Staff are super friendly.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Salinas! I ordered the Spicy Chirashi as well as the Garfield roll! Absolutely delicious as always!

Came here at the recommendation of a friend and was blown away by the quality of the food. The hole in the wall setting really adds to the atmosphere and the staff is friendly and the service is quick. I've visited plenty of sushi spots and this knew definitely ranks high for me

Great service. Sushi unagi hand roll& spider roll were great. Edaname was fine would of preferred maldon salt In stead of Morton's but it doesn't really need salt.

Dull area

Consistently good. No frills. Not fancy. Just good food. Each roll has its own distinct flavor. Rolled tightly enough to fit in your mouth. The bathroom is through the kitchen. Again, not fancy. So "go" before you go.

Great service with friendly attitudes and quick orders. A lot of options with rolls and other types of Japanese food such as chirashi bowls.

Japanese food and the scene here is quality. i often meet people here to talk. i'll return with my coworkers. the bill was reasonable.

This was my first time going there. I am glad we went in. We were greeted by a really sweet lady who had a great smile. We ordered the lemon..something roll off of the customer creations posted on the wall. It was very yummy!! We also ordered a sushi box 1. Everything we had was fresh and tasty. We took it to go as we were at an event across the street. It was ready pretty quick. Prices were really good for the portions we got. We were both very happy. The restaurant was very clean. We will be going back to try other items and recommending Samurai to others. Samurai is great!!

I’ve been eating at Samurai for two decades and have never been disappointed. While not a large, flashy restaurant, it more than makes up for it in flavor. I’ve always felt like Samurai provides the best value in Monterey County for sushi. The rolls aren’t overpriced. It can get busy at lunch and dinnertime, so be prepared to wait if you aren’t a bit early. I personally love their baked mussels. My favorite rolls are Melissa, Monterey, Diablo, and Oh Shrimp!

Obviously we are currently living in a rough time, and its businesses like Samurai that are accommodating to the times and offering online ordering. There service is quick and offer up some awesome sushi box specials. If your looking for delicious to go sushi this is the place.

My fav spot for delicious japanese food. Dropped in on Tues. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. It has a cool feel to it. Food is similar to a cafe in Portland I loved.

I'm not a sushi fan. My daughters 💙 this place.

I went here with my family. We order a dinner combo for the kids to split and they ate it all and gave the adults additional food to eat as well. The adults ordered rolls and nigari. The fresh was fresh did not have on off putting smell or fishy taste in the mouth. The were not even the cabbage left on the plates when all was said and done. I would travel out of my way to eat here again. The prices were fair and did not mind spending the money for the quality of food provided. If you want cheaper prices go get crappier food somewhere else.

I took my daughter for her birthday and had a very pleasant experience. We were waited on immediately and was checked on several times during my visit. Food came to our table with reasonable time..Food was so fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was great. There's a variety of choices on the menu. Ice cream was homemade and creamy. I really recommend this restaurant.
