πŸ‘πŸ‘ The Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes was the most peaceful place I've ever visited. It is a place where people can come together for prayer and meditation and be welcomed and accepted as one. The glow from the prayer candles warmed my heart and filled me with the light of the Lord. People often mention peaceful, campus, pray, visit, Grotto, Beautiful, time, beautiful, Notre, Dame,

This is kinda off the beaten path, down the stairs behind the basilica. Be sure not to miss the Grotto. There is a parking lot close by, or park at the bookstore and walk on a nice day. There was a school field trip attending a ceremony while I visited.

Beautiful place to pray. It's very peaceful in there. As in for security, the cops would pass by very often in their car but I don't think I would go there alone at night, way too lonely.

There is never a bad time to visit the grotto: In rain, snow, heat, or wind; in spring, summer, fall, or winter. Each time offers its own beauties, whether that’s the silence of a fresh fallen snow, the reflection of flickering candles in the puddles, or the bright colors of tulips leading to the grotto. This is a place of prayer, of reflection, of hope, despair, fear, joy, and tenacity. There is a quiet reverence at this special place, and I promise you will feel it too.

Visiting the Grotto by the Lakes on Notre Dame campus is a wonderful, beautiful and peaceful place to spend time any part of the day during any season, and these pictures do not fully represent or give the real experience of truly being there in person (body, mind & spirit). It is A Must on the list to visit while on campus. Definitely and Highly Recommended.

I was left speechless when I got here and actually saw it in person. It's a beautiful inviting place. Very quiet, clean & extremely therapeutic. I'm such a baby I cried lol. I'm from Florida we don't have this. The school itself is also pretty cool. Huge stadium too. Finding the Grotto was pretty simple. The scenery is a must. I did the donation, prayed & lit a candle for my baby boy in heaven. You won't regret going. I got in for free and parked for free. I'm not sure is that changes during event days but I went on a weekday that they had nothing going on. If you got this far I hope you have an amazing rest of your year. Stay blessed πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ. Indeed a replica of a dank cave warmed by candle light and an overwhelming sense of something calming and illuminating. Beautiful to see a student with backpack come between classes and touch the stone from Lourdes where Mother Mary apparitions reportedly appeared. $3 suggested donation to light candle. GPS takes you thru main campus gate to declare visiting intent and get a free parking sticker for one hour with another hour expiration leeway. Can see the basilica and the lake all in same time frame depending on how long you pray or meditate or just sit there in the quiet. Very organized campus operation that also draws tourists.

A very beautiful place at night. You could really feel the calm energy in the grotto. Very nice place to sit and visit. Made for some really great photos too.

If you’re on or near Notre Dameβ€˜s campus, this is a must stop. Gorgeous peaceful place. Light a candle and hang and pray. Rosary is every day at 6:45 PM. It’s right behind the Basilica, which is also the other must stop on campus. Don’t miss both of these.

Beautiful space. Go when schools out so you have better parking options and less people. Open year round and is handicap accessible.

Beautiful replica of Our Lady of Lourdes. A spiritual area where you can pray the Rosary and be with Our mother.

Every time I visit Notre Dame I have to stop by the Grotto. My grandpa always lit a candle here. It is a place to come and reflect on the past and pray for a Notre Dame victory on a football Saturday. If you are visiting the campus this has to be a must stop. Always treat this place with respect.

The Grotto is a MUST SEE of The Notre Dame campus. It is a great place to visit and reflect. A donation for a candle is appreciated but definitely not required.
