Simply the best authentic Chinese food in the city! More than that, is the service. Husband and Wife owned and ran, and when you go in, you will find one of them or their son working. They will happily engage in conversation and are some of the most genuine and kind people I've ever known. That is what's missing from chain and big box, sharing in community. Love this place!

Kopi Den aka Asian Cookery is a must-go-to eatery that serves up the most authentic, celebrated and iconic Southest Asian and Malaysian's street food. The dishes prepared by chef Peng Jones truly showcase her sophisticated culinary skills, many years of knowledge and immersion with the diverse and multi-cultural country where she grew up --- Malaysia. I appreciate her creativity and cleverness with the use of ingredients, perfect balancing of taste and no-nonsense approach for the food that she loves, and also loved by her customers. This last visit, my family and I ordered Laksa, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak with Beef Redang and my favorite Dry Wonton Noodles. Every bite was a sensory experience that packed with mesmerizing flavor, aroma and goodness. Their other delicacies such as Curry Puffs, Dumplings, Glutinous Rice and variety of Kuih are not to be missed. These savories are made with complex preparation and then finished by either steaming, frying, baking or fusion. They're awesome in taste, texture and artistry in appearance. And worth mentioning, these small bites have history span from Malaysian, Portuguese, Thai, Indonesian, Chinese and several ethnicity. The cafe now has more seating. Ted,  Nicholas and all the staff are doing an amazing job in service! Highly recommended.

First time trying Malaysian food, and this place did not disappoint! Overall menu is rather simple, but they do it well. I had the Curry Laksa Noodles, which is not spicy but is packed full of flavor. Highly recommend getting the Curry Puffs as an appetizer. Can’t wait to go back to try something else.

Really excellent food. The curry dish was great and the dumplings were scrumptious! The place was super clean and the employees were courteous and smiled a lot!

Great first experience with Malaysian food today here. The dry noodle wanton dish (and spicy version, wanton laksa) are a must-try. The curry was also very lovely. Ted the owner was super gracious. We'll be back!

Me and my wife wanted something cheap and tasty and we are big advocates for trying something new, so we decided on this little Malaysian restaurant and we do not regret it. Definitely take the recommendations of the employees they know what they are talking about. The dishes we got were the perfect mix of spicy, rich and salty and a little bit of sweet too. We took it to go and it’s not too far from the Garden of the Gods and it makes for a perfect picnic! 10 out of 10.

Grew up in Southeast Asia and my brother just moved here from Singapore after many years and we were so excited to find this place! SO, so delicious and such great service. A very warm and welcoming atmosphere & amazing food. The beef rendang was especially yummy, but everything was great! If I could give more stars I would!

Simple, delicious food made with love in a cozy restaurant. The curry laksa was so flavorful, and tasting the kaya coconut jam brought me back to Malaysia. The owners are very sweet and clearly put their heart and soul into every dish and making customers feel at home. Highly recommend!

Last Friday’s quest was Hainanese Chicken Rice! All I can say is it’s worth the hour & half drive to Asian Cookery just to have Chef Peng’s food. We had beef rendang nasi lemak, bbq pork plate, chicken rice and kueh lapis 🤤 Close my eyes and her food brings me back home… such comfort food. The chicken meat was smooth and juicy, the ginger and the chili sauces were spot on, most importantly, the rice was fragrant with fresh pandan leaves (from Orlando) and not very greasy as chicken rice tends to be. It’s a labor intensive dish to make and I’m so appreciative to be able to find Authentic Malaysian/Singapore food in Colorado.

Delicious! Highly recommend the curry laksa noodle bowl. I got regular spice which was a nice kick, but not too spicy (I love spicy food). The creamy coconut curry is so good, maybe the best I’ve had! The wonton dry noodle bowl is also excellent. Tender, smoky BBQ Chinese pork really makes the dish special. We finished off with a slice of matcha roll cake, which was moist and not too sweet. Great matcha flavor!

Ladies from the Tri Lakes Women’s Club Adventures in Dining Group decided to explore the Malaysian street food at the Kopi Den. We were intrigued by their almost unknown cuisine and the chef’s remarkable background (just one was teaching at the Kitchen at the Broadmoor Resort). We were welcomed by Ted who immediately made us feel welcome. He explained the unique, non alcoholic drinks, incl. various teas and the variety of dishes. Everybody delighted in the unique flavors, not too spice. For those of you that like it hot, spicy sauces were on the side of the dish. And then there were the deserts 😊😊 The Kopi Den also offers takeout.

Another great restaurant! Everything I had was delicious, and service staff was welcoming. The chicken rice bowl tastes way better and more flavorful than it looks, but the looks are what made me try it. The Pulut Hitam is definitely not a dessert I've had before, which made it more exciting to try. It was easily worth it, and the ice cream was really good too. I look forward to stopping by again after my next random hiking trip, to reorder and try more of the menu.

My family and I just ate here and we're so impressed! The menu is minimal, but that is bc each meal is made to perfection. I had the dry pork/noodles and husband had the pork over rice-both so so good. When I say my husband/son are picky, I mean to the most extreme, but THEY LOVED IT! The people were so nice, and the atmosphere was clean and pleasant! Thank you again! We will be regulars from now on!

Peng’s comfort food finished my long hikes perfectly! It’s simple but homey and yummy. Staffs were very professional and offered to walk me through the menu knowing that it was my first time visiting. The owner Peng is extremely welcoming. She likes to chat with eaters and she told me that she became friends with lots of her customers. Peng also gave me a bowl of wonton soup and I ended up eating more rice with that soup;)

Yep, very good indeed. Driving by you would miss this place. Behind a gas station on North Academy. Stopped by for the first time on the way to a local brewery. We both got the Dry Noodles to go. Very friendly folks working here. My dad spent his youth in Malaysia and when we would visit him in the UK he loved to take us to his favorite Malaysian restaurant. He would have liked this.

This has become my comfort food. The food is consistently nothing short of perfection and the couple who runs it treats everyone like family with genuine kindness. You can taste the love that goes into each dish and beverage. When I want something to bring me comfort I go here. When I want to impress company I take them here. There is no doubt you will love this place as well. Give it a shot!

I tapao'd curry laksa with extra sambal. Extra delicious! Looking forward to trying the kuih next visit! Update! Came back and got to try the beef rendang with nasi lemak, kuih lapis, kuih talam and mango pudding. Everything is 10000/10 super delicious!!!!! Thank you for the warm welcome Chef! I also tapao lots of kaya to enjoy at home (I made toast with it in the last pic!) :))

SO good! We moved to the Springs last summer and we haven’t had this authentic, delicious Asian food anywhere else. Every item we got tasted delicious and the customer was phenomenal. We’ll be coming back a lot!

Pretty good Indonesian or Malaysian food and snack that we found during our trip. Not really authentic but the taste is quiet good. The owners are very friendly and nice.

The Kopi Den an Asian Cookery is a very cozy locally owned restaurant that offers up delectable Char Siu Pork with very tasty Boba amongst other items. The staff is very friendly and the owner, Peng Jones is certified member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Ate: Wonton Dry Noodles, Strawberry Lemonade with Boba, Curry Puffs and Sticky Rice (not pictured) More food reviews at Howtoeatincolorado on Instagram
