My visit involved redeeming a gift certificate for a one ounce Silver Eagle coin that I’d won for playing Drew’s College of Useless Knowledge (92.5 - “Right All Along”). I was greeted immediately upon entering the door. Scott, who turned out to be the owner, enthusiastically, introduced himself. Then, after I communicated the nature of my visit, I was thanked for supporting the radio station where I’d won prize. You know how sometimes people just seem to go through the motions. Not here, Scott’s gratitude seemed genuine and sincere. He provided me with a brief history about the coin, but never attempted to add-on or upsell, no pressure. His friendliness, and pleasant demeanor created a comfortable atmosphere, and a great overall experience. He appears to love his job. To top it all off, when I admitted I was going to regift the coin, Scott offered me an upgraded coin holder, free of charge. As I was leaving, I made mention of some inherited jewelry, and he offered to give me a free written estimate. Based on my initial visit, I’d trust Scott to provide a fair offer. So, I’m going back. I strongly recommend Parkshore Coin & Jewelry. He’s even got a radio show that airs on 92.5, Saturday mornings at 6:00 AM.

Not impressed. Pawn Shops pay more for coins than this store. I sold a few silver dollars but got more at a pawn shop for the rest of the coins. The tiny shop was a mess, and the man had no interest in sterling jewelry or any collectibles. He really only wanted the silver dollars to give away for promos. This business has ruined The Drew Steele Radio Show's first hour, by giving away a $20 silver dollar when callers make fools of themselves.

Great stuff, great prices. I wish there was a location closer to my home. Worth the trip, though.
