What a wonderful store!!! We were looking for last minute ski boots for our son and we found the boots and the skis for him here. The guys that work there were very helpful and explained to us everything we wanted to know plus the prices are really affordable. The owner of the store was there and really made us feel very comfortable, kids fell in love with her two dogs. Overall great experience and if you looking for anything ski and snowboarding related i bet you will find it in this great shop!

Went to the shop looking for boots, poles and skis. Bob G. was fantastic. He spent the time to educate me about new vs used vs rental quality levels and so much more. Tried on multiple boots explaining the differences of each being extremely accommodating at all times. Did not try to sell me above my budget restrains. Could not have asked for better service. The price I paid was more than fair. I will be back to have my skis and boots serviced. Wendy was very helpful with some ski accessories I needed. Stephanie even dropped off at my house an item left at the shop. I went skiing the next day. The skis and boots performed far better than I expected. Thanks again everybody!

Next-level customer service!! I purchased a hard-to-find pair of skis over the phone and unseen. Wendy was incredibly helpful. Not only was she responsive to my calls and questions but also had someone personally drive the skis to the nearest UPS shipping location to ensure I received the skis in time before a trip. All done over the phone!!! Thank you, Wendy!!!

Great shop! Everybody was super friendly and helpful. The staff was knowledgeable about what we needed which was nice as my fiancé and I are novice skiers. Made renting easy and stress free. Also WAY less chaotic than renting at the mountain. Also they have a great number of products for purchase that range from professional grade to “first time skier” in price. Definitely my first stop next time I return to Elk Mountain.

Even though listed as closed, a friendly and enthusiastic employee, Wendy, answered and stopped doing inventory just to help me with my Halloween costume by searching a meme I referenced and found the exact matching accessory I had described! She allowed me to drive up and make the purchase and even gave me a discount! Wendy didn't even know I'm a loyal customer, but today's experience clearly exemplifies why! She wished me the most sincere Happy Halloween!

Took my 2 youngest (ages 17 & 20) skiing at Elk Mountain today and was not blown away by the reviews I saw about rental process on the actual mountain so I decided to do some investigation. First I did my due diligence and phoned Elk and spoke with their rental department and was informed first come first serve and they didn’t open until 830am which is when the lifts start. Since the place closes at 430pm and we were coming from 3 hrs away we wanted to maximize our day and the earlier opening was a deciding factor. I also found another off mountain shop and I decided that Idle Wild maybe fit us better, they had Max the dog, and he greeted us at the door at 801am So after some quick paperwork, wish we could have done it online prior, but that’s a minimal inconvenience, the guys asked the important questions, set us up with awesome equipment for the day and sent us on our way. Well we had a great day, the conditions were great but the equipment set up was even better. Zero issues and perfect. So at 4:05 pm we were ready for our last run when I asked the lift operator if we could get 1 more lift to get back to the lodge after our “final run” and he said I’ll make sure of it. We got to the shop at 4:58 pm and the guys were interested in our day, how we felt about the set up etc. What a great experience we had for the day and the equipment we rented at Idle Wild was a big part of it. This place is the best and they got great dogs Thanks again for a great day

I couldn't be happier with my recent experience purchasing skis at Idlewild. They responded quickly to my email inquiry and helped me narrow down my options based on my ability and preferences. They're less than ten minutes from Elk Mountain and let me demo a few pairs there before buying, which made it super easy to identify the perfect ski for me. And to top it all off, they seemed genuinely excited for me when I came back in the shop with a big smile after the demo. From start to finish, it was clear that they care about their customers and take pride in helping people find the right ski gear.
