Incredibly happy with my purchase. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, awesome communication throughout the custom ordering process. First 2 outings were breathtaking, with close encounters with swans, loons, ospreys, and eagles. Left Vilas County exhausted but with a happy heart. The canoe exceeded expectations and will be a perfect boat for future adventures.

We "discovered" Coontail about five years ago when we started coming to the Northern Highland American Legion Forest to go camping and bike the trails. To be honest, we didn't go to the stores primarily because we weren't in the market for new bikes and we had our equipment tuned up closer to home. We assumed Coontail would jack up the prices simply because they could. In 2021, we decided to replace my wife's five year old ebike and I started looking for a specific Mint Green Specialized Como 4. After checking the entire state for that bike, we found one at Coontail in Boulder Junction. It was literally the only one in Wisconsin and we found it while we were up camping at Firefly. I did my due diligence, checked prices at other places and found that the bike was the same price at Coontail as anywhere else so we drove there bought it before someone else found it. Rich and the other staff at the store were spectacular. Super helpful and they took time to walk my wife through the operation of the bike. Since that experience, we've been back to get have our bikes tuned up a couple times and last week, my wife upgraded her bike to a new Como with belt drive. I knew my almost five year old bike was showing signs of age but after getting it tuned last week, my bike is riding like new. I'm not sure who did the actual work on the bike but they did an awesome job. The charge was about $100. I'm used to paying around $75 in Green Bay or Appleton but the extra $25 I paid at Coontail was absolutely worth it. I would definitely recommend Coontail.

We were in the area and needed to buy a kayak paddle as a present. Jason, the sales person, was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend for any active sports needs.
