Had a wonderful experience coming here. Family friendly, there's something new to learn or see for everyone and it peeked my interest in the celestial bodies in more ways than one. I would recommend this to anyone if they are looking for an out-of-this-world adventure or learning experience. The staff are friendly and nice as well. Make sure to check the weather forecast ahead of time. For best results go on a cloudless night.

My girlfriend took me here on my birthday on an open visitation night along with her 3 boys. We had an excellent time, as they moved the telescope to any place we asked them to, and answered all of our questions as best as they could. They were extremely friendly, and very patient with everyone, even if they seemed like silly questions. All of the volunteers were very knowledgeable, and gave us the impression that they absolutely love what they do. Near the end of the night, they went though about 50 pictures that they had taken in the past as well as a few that they got from other observatories, and taught us exactly how they take them, and what goes into creating them. They do have water available for free, but If you donate a little extra money, they even have refreshments that you are welcome to. Since the moon was out, and was 75% full it was difficult to get some insane views, but that just means that we’ll have to come back on a clear night when it’s a new moon!

magical. a spiritual experience. it's open to the public on Wednesday nights. if the sky is right you may get a chance to look through a big telescope and see planets, nebulae, and globular clusters.

Took a field trip there. The staff was amazing. Took time to explain to the kids in the way they would understand. Answered the kids questions with enthusiasm! Were very receptive to the kids needs and very patient. Definitely recommend visiting and bringing inquisitive children!

What a wonderful experience. A very helpful gentleman gave us a tour around and explained about the differences in the telescopes and showed us many photos they took using them. We were lucky to have been passing by the day they happened to be doing maintenance on one of the scopes.

A must see!. My wife and i were there this past Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Views of the plants Jupiter and Saturn through their telescope were spectacular. Just as impressive as the views were, also were the guys who volunteer there. Their expertise and knowledge was amazing. They took all the time anyone needed to understand the entire aspect of the place and explained in simple to understand terms, despite the fact that they are brilliant. We were guided by Richard, a very impressive gent whose knowledge and information he imparted was worth the visit alone. Thanks guys..we were the early arriving couple from Batavia!!

Set up a small visit on a Saturday to try and set up a telescope of my own. Unfortunately cloud cover prevented us from seeing any sky but we still had an amazing time touring the facility and getting to see photos and hear stories from the volunteers. Will definitely be trying to head back up here again sometime!

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Great experience the park itself was very clean and inviting. The trails could have been marked a little better as we mistakenly went up an access road but overall still very very enjoyable.
