I can't say enough nice things about working with Anne on a 12-pax van rental. She was fantastic, and so was Omar, the white van we picked up in the Hollis ferry parking lot for three days. The rental included a cooler and binoculars, and we used both! I highly recommend them and would use them again myself.

Anne and DJ took great care of us on our POW trip. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and our last minute requests. Elliott, our Suburban, was the perfect vehicle for hauling us, our gear and kayaks around the island. I would never consider using any rental company but theirs. Thank you for making our trip great!

Darren is a one-of-a-kind individual that I am fortunate to have met. He understands customer service and customer satisfaction as well as anyone I have dealt with. He knows that for most of us this is our yearly vacation and we are escaping the rat race to get away from it all and he helps you ensure that nothing is left to chance. We rented "Bart" (great truck), a boat, 2 kayaks, fishing gear, chairs, bed rolls and full camping gear for our adventure on POW Island. Darren recommended all the things we should and shouldn't bring and helped us work out all the details of the trip. He and his wife are so nice and they thought of everything. All the equipment was in great working order and there were backup systems in place for everything in case we had issues (spare key for truck, two motors on boat, extra gas can, etc.). I was blown away looking at Darren's review score on google because he has 59 reviews with 5 stars. That is very unique and a testament to what great people they are and what an amazing job he does running his company. The man even flew in to check on us at Polk Cabin which was a special treat for everyone in our group!

DJ went out of his way to have a truck ready for me on short notice when travel plans changed unexpectedly. It was a nice truck, well maintained and clean, no smell, which doesn't happen by accident in a hunting / fishing / logging town. The rate was reasonable, and a bargain based on the value he added by being flexible and willing to help. Overall great experience!

My group rented "Big Red" for our trip to Prince of Wales Island. The truck was waiting for us at the ferry parking lot. What we got was a real nice clean Toyota tundra loaded with standard gear that they provide with all rentals (first aid, maps etc.) the booking process was easy and painless. I highly recommend using HAR when you need a truck or car while on POW for your fishing and hunting expeditions. A first rate operation and a first rate operator. Wow!! My friend and I recently spent a week on Prince of Wales Island fishing for fun. We rented camping gear, kitchen supplies and a suburban from DJ and Anne for a week. The suburban checked all our boxes and performed like a champ. It took us everywhere we wanted to go with no issues at all. The camping and cooking gear was all we could ask for. The cooler kept our food cold and fresh. We missed most of the salmon but caught our limit in the salt. And we each caught and released about 200 Dollies. All in all we had a great trip with great help from The DJ Crew. We also really enjoyed our morning coffee and banter with the crew at Locked and Loaded coffee shop. It was a great adventure. Highly recommend using them for rentals.

I rented "Seek" the Toyota tundra for a week in August while staying with my parents in the outskirts of Thorne Bay. It was at the Klawok airport upon landing, super convenient! Man, that truck was a trooper! We drove it alllllllll over the island, and just loved it. Anne was super helpful, responsive and friendly. When I come back next year, I plan on using them again. 10/10 would recommend!

DJ treated me like family from our very first phone conversation, through my entire week on the island. He met me at the airport with my truck, hung around to talk with me and answer the many questions I had as a first timer to POW. DJ rented me everything I needed for my adventure including camp gear, a canoe, a skiff, crab pot, some fishing gear, etc., and all at a very fair and reasonable rate. My truck (Tanner) performed flawlessly, and was immaculately clean when I picked it up. I'm already planning my next trip, in large part because DJ made everything so easy. Next time, I'll pack a lot less stuff on my flight to POW, and rent my essentials from Hollis Adventure Rentals.

Darren and Hollis Adventure Rentals was amazing! One of the things that I love about living in Alaska is the sense of community. Though this was my first trip to Prince if Wales I immediately felt at home thanks to Darren. It is very hard to pack everything that you need to go camp out for a week and Hollis Adventure Rentals helped out with everything we needed to supplement our supplies and we had an amazing truck to get around on the island's logging roads and pavement! I would recommend anyone visiting Prince of Wales to rent equipment and/or vehicles from Hollis Adventure Rentals. They even make sure the vehicle is waiting in the ferry parking lot so that you have nothing to worry about. Had a great time! Thanks Darren!!

Anne and DJ are great! They’re super reliable, have solid, well maintained vehicles, and are located right next to the airport terminals. They’re the only ones I’d recommend for vehicle rentals on Prince of Wales Island.
