The De Leon Area Historical Museum is a walk through the History of De Leon, Texas. It will take you from its birth when The Texas Central Railroad sold lots off the bed of a flatcar on July 7, 1881, to memorabilia of current day residents. A history of the Peach & Melon Festival that's still being held 100 plus years later. A fabulous quilt display by local residents past and present. It also has items from the surrounding area such as Desdemona formerly Hog Town and the oil boom that started there. It is delightful and a bucket list stop for sure.

Loved walking through with my daughter! They have sections for surrounding areas like Desdemona and Gorman that were awesome to see! The switchboards, phones and typewriter were a particular favorite of my daughters!

Really diverse selection of things to check out! My favorite part was they let me and my kids hold stuff! Worth checking out for sure!
