👍👍 Was passing by Alabama and stopped at this location for an early dinner. Service: Good, the staff were friendly, recommended us a few items and also the food came very quickly. Ambience: Decent. The restaurant layout is vertical and felt a little weird though. Food: Very good! Definitely enjoyed... Drop everything and go to Bawarchi immediately! I’ve eaten Indian all over the world and in some of the best Indian restaurants in London, which my Indian friends said were better than the Indian restaurants back home in India. Bawarchi was the best I’ve ever had. The Apollo fish appetizer was out of this world! I have no idea how to describe it, but it’s their specialty. The spice isn’t watered down, so if you’re sensitive to spice, it may not be for you. The lamb biryani was also delicious and they give a huge portion! Their naan was fluffy and cooked perfectly. It didn’t have the thin, burnt spots that you typically get. The service was also great. They’re great about recommendations if you’re having trouble deciding. You won’t be disappointed!

Was passing by Alabama and stopped at this location for an early dinner. Service: Good, the staff were friendly, recommended us a few items and also the food came very quickly. Ambience: Decent. The restaurant layout is vertical and felt a little weird though. Food: Very good! Definitely enjoyed all the items without any exceptions. Cut Mirchi, Karappodi chicken were great to start with. The mutton curry was recommended to us instead of chicken, and it was good. The bread was fresh and tasted good. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Definitely authentic Indian food. The portion sizes are very generous. The garlic naan was outstanding. I ordered the butter chicken. It was a bit spicy 🔥 but it was delicious 😋. The service was very good. The only thing I was keen on was the can sodas and bottled water. $2.00 for a small can coke is a little excessive in my opinion. My total bill for the garlic naan, butter chicken and coke was $17.50

Some of your favorite dishes will be found here at this restaurant. The meats and vegetables are fresh. The business is always clean and timely operated. The music is amazing! Perfect for dates, dinner, a true cultural experience in your mouth!

This was our first Indian food experience in Alabama since moving here. We always have our staple favorites we order when we're craving Indian. Our favorite and what will keep us coming back is Chicken Tikka Masala, but this one had an overwhelming amount of onions in it...We've never seen that before in this dish, and unfortunately that was all we could taste. It was also incredibly sweet, and unfortunately just not enjoyable. The Saag paneer was just ok, not much flavor and we ended up having to season it ourselves. Naan was fine, pretty standard. Something new we tried was the Gobi Manchurian. That was actually very tasty, but would recommend ordering it only in restaurant, because it gets soggy fast if you don't eat it fresh. Not their fault, just part of saucy fried foods when you package them. For us, this wasn't it, and we will keep looking for our go to spot. But the restaurant is cute, and the workers are sweet. Possible other dishes will be a better experience than what we had.

I will first start by saying their food is absolutely delicious. My low score is only because of the portions when you order pick up. I ordered the butter chicken and as you can see in the photo I got a bowl full of curry /gravy so it looks like a lot, but I pulled the chicken out of the sauce and I counted there are 11 mostly really small cubes of chicken. (Only about 5 were regular size, the others look cut in half) This cost $13+. You can get more meat in a frozen food dish.. I’m just really disappointed because they have delicious food but this is really overpriced. It should’ve been no more than $9.99 lunch portion and charge $13+ for a dinner portion instead.. I will say that when you dine in, they do give you larger portions so I recommend eating in person instead of ordering to go or delivery.

No wonder this restaurant has high ratings. We came in and were greeted immediately, sat comfortably in their spacious, new booths, and had our orders taken promptly. The food came out so fast! The complexity and depth of flavor in our Chicken Tikka Masala was dope. The chunks of onion were tasteful and our garlic naan was melting in our mouths. I'm a dipper! Smash. Can't wait to find myself back in their neighborhood. And I live in Tennessee! Thank you, Bawarchi.

Great tasting food and generous portions also very cheap compared to other Indian restaurants. It seems like a franchise and if it is they need to have the same indo-chinese fried rice the one we had was a lot more Indian fried rice (spicy) compared to the brentwood TN location. Overall world rate it more than 5 stars if I could thanks for provide great food...

I had the chili paneer app and it was delightfully spicy with the onions and peppers appropriately soft. The minced goat dosa was an excellent choice as it came with several chutneys/dips to fulfill all your spice requirements and the dosa was crisp. Will definitely return.

Amazing Dosa, and pepper chicken! Friendly staff and quick service. Chicken Mughalai wasn’t it compared to the other but overall one of the tasty Indian food spots around here.

The food is absolutely delicious. We have recently moved from out of town and we can honestly say they are one of the best Indian foods I’ve tasted in US. Keep doing the good work Bawarchi. Only one gripe - the take away order portions can be increased a bit.

I recently dined at Bawarchi restaurant in Birmingham, Alabama, and I have to say that the food was absolutely amazing! From the aromatic biryanis to the flavorful curries and tandoori dishes, every dish was cooked to perfection and bursting with authentic Indian flavors. What I loved most about this restaurant was the attention to detail in every dish. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. The restaurant's ambiance was also lovely, with warm lighting and comfortable seating that made for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Bawarchi restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Indian cuisine in Birmingham, Alabama. The food is truly amazing, and the service is top-notch. I can't wait to visit again and try more of the menu!

It was a very cozy restaurant. Very pretty and I loved the stone walls. So pretty. It was my first time and I hadn’t had Indian food a lot and they were so sweet to help me pick what I would enjoy best. Safe to say I am definitely a huge lover of the food now! The staff is super friendly, 10/10 would recommend.

I placed an order of Uttapam onion and it was raw, I asked for spicy veg fried rice and it was not spicy at all. When customer request for something to be done to the food you either say yes you can do it or can’t. And they said they will make it spicy! But overall the uttapam was raw and they should get bad health rating! When called they said their batter was bad — then why the hell you servicing this kind of food!

Best restaurant in Hoover. We had the Apollo Fish appetizer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Kadai Gosht, and Chili Garlic Naan. Absolutely incredible food and large portions. Very nice people as well. Highly recommend.

Was underwhelmed by food and service. This was my first time at this establishment. From the call in to place the order, to picking up the order was a pain. Was on business so I need receipts to verify purchases. Getting a receipt was a hassle...meaning I didn't get the receipt. You are losing money because I'm not paying for the food. The food was not great and was tough in consistency. I'll stick to the Indian restaurants I'm familiar with. I like to support local businesses, especially in my hometown. I'm too old to support a flippant attitude and two days worth of food that I threw away.

I’ve eaten Indian food many times in various states and cities we’ve lived in. This was my first experience have dosa and it did NOT disappoint! Delicious! Loved the chutney and lentil soup to dip! The best part, my picky four year old loved her cheese dosa. Also, my husband’s lamb korma was the best we’ve had in years. Thanks for a great experience! Can’t wait to come back!

I've eaten here several times & have found the food excellent, but for this last time when it was just okay. There was confusion over what my friend ordered, & he was served an appetizer instead of the meal he thought he'd ordered. This was the result of the server having a difficult time understanding English. She didn't even understand when I first told her I was waiting for a friend. I'm not sure he enjoyed his meal. I had a Chicken Curry that was flavorful, but could have used a bit more spice. I will definitely return, based on the excellent food I've eaten here before.
