This place is one of the best Indian restaurants in town. The food is amazing, the staff is awesome. The food is rich in flavor and colorful. They do take-outs too - which is equally as awesome. Their buffet is really good, and, I know this is silly, but their water is good. Very good place to take with family. Their takeout is amazing as well, and I love going here!

My favorite Indian restaurant. The food is always amazing. The service is good. Very authentic tasting. We keep going back because the food is outstanding. We had the butter chicken, devils shrimp, goat pepper fry, veg korma, Palak paneer, Tikka paneer, bahtouri bread, cheddar kulcha, garlic Naan and gulab Jamens for dessert. Get yourself a mango Lassi and a thumbs up soda while you're there. You won't regret it.

Best Indian place I think I've ever been to! While I've said this before about many Indian restaurants, this definitely tops the list as of now. Prices, taste, staff, and inside decor are excellent. Everything we ordered was out of this world flavorful... and the staff was very courteous and made great small talk, while describing popular dishes. I asked to make my butter chicken spicy and boy, was it good. Their garlic nann had garlic chunks everywhere (amazing)! Their lamb Rogan Josh, was outstanding. I can't say enough about this place. Just go here!

Always have a great meal and great experience here. Food has always been tasty and everyone is super friendly. Honestly I feel like I'm at home when I come here, it's just some good and healthy comfort food that definitely will fill you up.

Outstanding. The restaurant was referred to me by a friend who is a self-proclaimed food connoisseur. He said "you need to go to Passage To India, that you won't be disappointed." He was right. From the authentic chai tea, to the various curry dishes and the naan bread. Everything was meticulously crafted with flavors that make your face and your mouth and your tongue come alive. (I highly recommend you order the garlic naan bread.) Though we only had two of the couple dozen food options, that gives us plenty of reasons to come back over and over and over again to enjoy more food. The atmosphere was great, and the service was very friendly.

My dtr and I tried a new place/different food. The waiter was amazing and helped us pick out dishes. The dishes tasted exactly like he said they would. Either spicy or not spicy/creamy. They were amazing. The Manager suggested us to try honey berry cake. It was the best cake we've ever had. We had a wonder time and experience and plan to go back to try other dishes

I like many Asian style dishes but this place is above and beyond. The staff is friendly and recommends food based on your experiences and palates. The entrees and appetizers are great but the dessert is what blew me away. I had the best cake I have EVER had in my life here. The honey berry shortcake made me feel the happiness I felt when I was a child or when I first proposed to my fiancee. Sprinkle the lemon on top. I am NOT a cake fan but this cake made me want to buy more. My taste buds are still doing a happy dance in my mouth. The food is a little pricey but it is very reasonable for the food you get. The spicy in the dinner hits you as you eat and they have hot sauce to add if you are brave enough. Will be coming again and may order take out JUST for the cake. If you try nowhere else in Fargo, come here and try the cake.

Was delicious. Restaurant was not to busy and seated quickly. Facilities were clean. There are physical barriers for noise and privacy. Good lighting while being slightly dim for calming atmosphere. Drink menu was small, but still had options for almost everyone. Stuck with water which was good. Indian food. Food came quickly, hot, flavorful. Server and host had good ideas and were able to describe meal well. Can get sweet, spicy, savory or a combination of food flavors. Naan is satisfying. Rice had food texture, not mushy.

The best Indian food with spices and flavors true to the culture in all of North Dakota. The people who work there are always so kind and their portions can serve 2-3 people. I go almost every week.

I had never tried authentic Indian food before, so we tried many different options from appetizer to main course and dessert. Everything was more than delicious! Service was phenomenal and he explained the dishes superbly. If you are not eating here you are missing out!

The food is delicious. As a gal with a fairly "Midwest palate," I appreciate that the spice level is very manageable wile the food is still so flavorful. Would absolutely recommend trying out this place for authentic Indian food and flavors.

10/10!! One of my new favorite restaurants. All the staff was so nice, always on hand if you needed anything. They gave us freshly made chai tea, home made hot sauce, and the staff member named Ameen even let us sample a little bit of a cashew curry for free! So amazing, definitely recommend if you're looking for authentic, flavorful indian food!

Great food. Just moved from out of state and this is one of the better Indian restaurants in the country. Service was great and the restaurant is very clean. And the momos I could bathe in the dipping sauce. And the naan, I could wrap myself up in it like a towel. I won't. But I could. And it's be glorious.

I am South-Indian by descent and I moved to Fargo a year ago from California, and I am telling you, their food is authentic. I was worried that I might not be able to access the different flavors the bay area had to offer, but was glad to have discovered this restaurant. They not only serve north Indian cuisines like most Indian restaurants in the US does. they also serve south Indian flavors, which is what they makes this place more special. amazing taste always.

So good! We are limited on Indian food in these parts, so Passage to India was a delightful trip. They have an extensive menu. I ordered the aloo gobi - potatoes and cauliflower. Spicy enough to make my nose water -- not pretty -- but I was dining alone. It came with a side of Basmati rice.I also ordered a side of Poori -- the puffy bread. Both portions were so large I took half home with me and enjoyed them again for lunch the next day. Service was terrific. I ordered a chai to go and it was the best chai tea I've ever had, hands down. My only critical comment was that the aloo gobi was a bit too greasy. But I can live with some grease, so I will return. Yum.

Ate here 3 or 4 years ago and wasn’t impressed...THINGS HAVE CHANGED! Excellent biryanis, Tikka masala and malai methi. All were distinctly different and delicious! It’s a 2 hour drive for us but we’ll be back for sure.

This was an excellent finish to our first vacation in years. Atmosphere was very nice without making average people feel uncomfortable. Service was very professional and efficient. Food was great and I usually don't like the average curry. All 4 of my kids 8-17 found something they loved. Flavorful with just the right amount of spice. My wife had the strip kebab and I had the lamb with rice. Both excellent, it was a very enjoyable dinner. Thank you for your work.

Wow! This was fantastic! I can't write about the atmosphere because I had my food delivered. I had been wanting some good Indian food when I was in Fargo and decided to take a chance. I am so glad that I did as it is the best Indian food I have had ever. After reading some online reviews I got the butter chicken. I also got the garlic naan, samosas, and black forest cake. The depth of the flavor in the butter chicken was amazing. I can certainly see why it is so popular!

The Momo's were to die for and the Tikka Masala was excellent. The staff was super attentive and we got personal attention from the owner. 5/5 will come again!

There are so many international stores in Fargo where an individual or "Indian Restaurant Owners" can get authentic Indian ingredients. It's hard to believe that the goat curry from Passage To India doesn't have a hint of any authentic Indian ingredients. Not even medium spicy... Please think twice before buying food from this restaurant.

4.6 stars!! If you had told me that I would find great Indian food in Fargo…I would’ve scoffed at that statement! But man have I been proven wrong. In the town of Fargo resides one is the better Indian restaurants in the US of A! Walking in, one is greeted with a very different, unusual and wonderful decor. This is followed by an excellent food experience. The onion pakoras are light and flavorful with bits of coriander and fennel seeds adding pops of flavor to the perfectly fried onions, daal fry is unlike any other you would find on other restaurants! This one is texturally diverse and flavorful, palak paneer is wonderfully vegetal yet with touches of warming spices and the fenugreek complementing the flavors. Goat curry boasts tender meat with an amazingly balanced sauce that is hot yet had that savory quality that makes it craveable ! Run to get there to make sure you don’t miss out on one of the better Indian restaurants in the US (yes I said US)

We happened upon the passage to India on our trip out of Fargo. I absolutely love Indian food and this is no exception, in fact this has to be the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to! From the amazing staff to the amazing food, you will not walk out disappointed. When we first walked in we noticed a poster of Guy Fieri, looking into it I found out he reviewed it in 2020 and everything he said came true! The flavor profile of the food is simply mind blowing as the chef masterfully takes many flavors and blends them into an amazing dish while still leaving each one as an individual and distinct flavor profile. The chef simply has a mastery of the art. The only negative comment I could say is that for some people the spice may be a little lacking. All in all this is an amazing Indian restaurant!

Okay, place to eat. I love that they have opinions for vegetarians. The environment was clean and tidy. The staff members were very nice and friendly. I was just here today, and I have to say that the food is just excellent! Best quality! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love this place!! I’ve taken my whole family here now between multiple occasions and they all loved it too! Everyone is polite and service is quick. And of course, the food is incredible. I would highly recommend the “butter chicken” for anyone who feels unsure or is hesitant about trying Indian food. The bottom of the menu currently says they provide housing for their employees, as well as fair compensation. It’s wonderful to see this, another great reason to visit.

My friends from India who live in Grand Forks make day trips just to eat here. They introduced me to the restaurant. It's amazing.

  • 1/5 Brandon L. 3 years ago on Google
At first they told us to go sit down in a booth, we sit there for 15 minutes, they don’t bring water or anything. This is absolutely ridiculous. As a restaurant you should respect all customers equally, and not stare at them from in the back. Like this completely unacceptable in terms of customer service. I would not recommend going to this discriminatory place.

Surprising. I went to India and came back from China...after a delicious appetizer of vegetable samosas and garlic nan I ordered chow mein, that's right, chow mein. It was a cross between fried Chinese noodles, Indian spices, chili pepper flakes, Vegetables...you get the picture. It was delicious! Highly recommended.
