Attended 02/04/2024 and 02/5/2024. I attended with my handicapped husband with great expectation of having fantastic shopping experience. The automobiles/gun exhibit hall was well laid out. There were many vendors displaying concept/new models not yet on the market. There was ammuniion at reasonable prices. The other halls; ie, archery, outdoor displays, retail vendors, seminars, boating, and fishing were highly mismatched numerically. Example, 3900 was not in the same hall as 4100? Why? for a handicapped person to have to walk with a cane extra because the lay out is not efficient, is not something we are going to deal with again. The NRA retail stand in the Outdoor hall was tucked away in the corner and was hard to locate. The halls were cluttered with vendors in the main hallway making it hard to get to and from many locations. Food vendors were tucked away in a dusty dingy section of the Outdoor hall. Only 2 coffee stands in inconvient locations. The food in gun exhibibit was the most organized and located in a well lit clean seated environment. Food prices were average for this type of venue. The bathrooms were clean. Security was great! The check into the show is caotic. You can enter from 3 different locations. Each location states there is an Advanced purchace door and a Same Day Purchace door. There is only one line until you get into the building, then the venue staff sorts show attendees out into 2 lines. Again, we are handicapped and purchaced ahead of time to be able to walk right into the building and avoid waiting in line. Parking is a nightmare and you have pay $10 daily to park in this nightmare. No one enforced the handicaped parking. Attendees parked in the hashed out lined area for handicapped van parking. This makes is very difficult to get in and out of a vehicle, especialy with mobility issues. Many attendees made up their own parking spots. A few shout outs to a few venders we purcchased from, NRA store, The Leather Shoppe, C& J Catering., LLC, 717 Tacos Harrisburg and Orvis. Many venders did wave the tax if you paid in cash and many used 4 square.

The world's largest outdoor show is right here in our own back yards! This event is an annual tradition here in Central PA and I love attending and seeing all the cool "new toys" being introduced to hunting, fishing, boating, grilling, camping and so much more. If you love the outdoors, cool new outdoor related tech and all things sportsman related, then this is a must attend event for you too!

As someone else posted, be prepared to walk and don't wear a coat. Spent 2 days, ended up booking a safari, a gator/hog hunt, a Sika hunt, and a ray/skate fishing trip. So many options, the taxidermy is just outrageous. Huge number of vendors -- hunting and fishing gear, outdoor clothing, everything. Evergrain Brewing and Floating Feather Brewing were there, made for a nice stroll sipping on local beers. Spent way too much $$ on stuff we'd only seen online... we'll be back next yr.

Don't go earlier than 3pm or you will have to park at quite distant place. Nice show but I think 2023 was better. I have strong feeling that local BassProShop has more to show compare to GAOS'24 ;)

Lots to see and people to meet. Wear your walking shoes and check your coat. Backpacks are a good idea to carry drinks and snacks.

The Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA, held from February 3rd to 11th, was an unforgettable experience. As an enthusiast of all things outdoors, this event was a highlight of my year, offering an unparalleled blend of activities, exhibits, and presentations that catered to a wide range of interests. From the moment I stepped into the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, I was greeted by a buzzing atmosphere filled with excitement and anticipation. The show’s expansive layout showcased everything from hunting and fishing to camping and boating, with vendors displaying the latest gear, gadgets, and apparel. The attention to detail in each booth, combined with the knowledgeable and passionate exhibitors, made exploring each section an adventure in itself. One of the standout features of the show was the variety of seminars and workshops available. Whether you were a seasoned outdoorsman or a novice looking to learn, there was something for everyone. Experts from around the country shared insights on topics such as wildlife conservation, outdoor survival skills, and the latest fishing techniques, providing valuable knowledge and tips. The shooting sports section was a particular highlight, offering hands-on experiences with the newest firearms and archery equipment under the guidance of skilled professionals. This hands-on approach not only allowed for a deeper understanding of the sports but also emphasized safety and responsible handling, which I greatly appreciated. The Great American Outdoor Show also excelled in creating a family-friendly environment. The event featured numerous activities designed for children, ensuring that the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts was not only entertained but also educated about the importance of nature conservation and outdoor ethics. Finally, the sense of community at the show was palpable. It was a gathering of like-minded individuals who share a passion for the great outdoors, providing a perfect opportunity to connect, share stories, and make new friends. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and shared excitement for outdoor adventures. In conclusion, the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg was a phenomenal event that I would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in outdoor activities. It was not only an exhibition of the latest in outdoor gear and practices but also a celebration of the outdoor lifestyle and the community that supports it. I left the show feeling inspired, informed, and eager for my next outdoor adventure.
