When planning our trip I didn't know what I know now, so I've visited just a third - namely this great museum. The entire Ford complex is enormous. It consists of three different parts: - Ford Museum of American innovation, - Greenfield Village, where Mr. Ford was born and where you can ride the T model, steam locomotive train and visit historic houses, and - Visit the still working Ford factory which requires boarding their bus and riding some 20 min one way. So, if you want all of these count on entire day for your visit. I didn't know that and planned only 3 hrs, which is quite enough for the museum only. Each attraction is paid separately, but there's also a combo ticket including all with a little discount. As a kind office lady told me, the museum is the biggest attraction and if I have to choose one - let it be the museum. She was right. First to inform you, this is NOT only the car history museum and when speaking of cars, not only Ford cars are here. As its name says, this is the Museum of American Innovation and you'll find here apart from cars - buses, trucks, trains, locomotives, hotel development, planes (Wright brothers and Spirit of St. Louis), arctic missions, industrial revolution factory items, space program...in one word all aspects of life evolution in the last 100 y. Museum is just great, one of the best I've visited and you need at least two hours to see it, so 3 hrs I had were just fine for a leisure visit without rushing.

Absolutely incredible and exquisite exhibits. Everything is laid out so well you can easily travel from one section to the next, with a smooth transition in-between. The cases are spaciously laid out as to not be overwhelming. This creates a good flowing atmosphere that keeps you moving and staring at the next item. There's a nice cafeteria that you can eat at, but hold on to your tickets. You'll need them to get back into the museum. The attendants are wonderful. The place is neat, tidy, and just fun. Definitely take your kids here, your wife, everyone will have something to look at here!

There was so much to see we barely knew where to start, so we just wandered the exhibits and took it all in (and it was a lot). It was like getting little peeks into history. The huge 2 story machines can make a person feel very small, especially when standing in front of a monstrous locomotive. It fills the mind with wonder about what innovative, colorful, creative, productive, incredible things God has inspired men to create throughout history. Definitely worth a return trip in the future.

Incredible the history of Ford! It's a huge museum with lots to see. We didn't see everything as I think it would take a few days. The old locomotives were a highlight for me, as well as the cars. The presidential cars was very cool to see. I'm not a huge fan of racing but I have to admit it was very interesting yo learn about racers as athletes and seeing some powerful racing cars over the years. Another highlight was the mathematics, airplanes, and furnishings. The doll houses were incredibly beautiful and detailed. The Walt Disney costumes were also very cool to see up close. If you love fabric and costumes, I highly recommend to see the exhibit. It is only for a short while though. The food was good, some variety of sandwiches, snack food and entree meal. The ladies who work there were wonderful, very funny, and very helpful. I really enjoyed the experience and hope to go back to see what I missed!

Spectacular! You need a full day to enjoy and bring your jacket after Oct 31st!! The train usually closes at the end of October, but the Model T drive around the village is worth the money. They also have a bus, that's a great way to hear about the village. They have a horse-drawn carriage as well!! The factory tour is fantastic, with limited photography options, but it is well worth it. The museum is vast, and if you live here, that year pass is the way to go! Visitors take advantage of the different passes according to ride availability. You almost can't get through the museum and village unless you plan for the whole day!! A must-see for sure!

I’ll definitely recommend to visit this museum in Detroit. It’s so huge and you can find here a lot of different things. History of United States. Progress of different directions such as railways, cars, planes, different manual productions. They also recommend factory tour and if you get museum and factory you’ll get discount. We didn’t have enough time and went through museum only. We got tickets in the spot and were not actually even planning to go there and it was Friday so I believe you can have tickets at the door any time. Enjoy and bring your kids there are a lot of interactive elements.

Amazing experience for people of all ages. The museum is big and has a lot of different sections about trains, cars, planes and machinery. You can get great pictures and also learn interesting facts about the development of all that. It is also interactive, with places where people can play games, practice being in the pit stop amongst other things. You need a couple of hours to be able to see everything.

So much to see in the museum. It will take you half a day to read through everything and walk through all the exhibit. Even a quick walk through needs about 3 hours. You learn so much on automotive, manufacturing, American history and culture, aerospace and Glass ! Love all the massive locomotive engines and massive power generator. They are just massive and beautiful. Train museum is usually outside but it was nice that Henry Ford manage to put these massive engines indoor It is a must go stop if you are in town

This was perhaps the best place that I've visited in a long time!! It was like a kid let loose in a candy shop. The place is absolutely gorgeous. The history behind every piece in that museum is insane, the lady at the front greeting once we entered the actual part of the museum was really really good. She gave a brief on what to expect and where. This place will take a full day to tour if you want to look and read everything. Maybe two. I would definitely visit this place again. Definitely recommended for every single age.

When my mom suggested that we all visit the Henry Ford Museum on our trip to Michigan I was skeptical. A museum didn't sound like much fun initially. I was thinking it would be tough to entertain the kids and that it would probably be boring. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this Museum was very entertaining for people of all ages. There were plenty of Hands-On exhibits, great photo opportunities, and lots of things to see and do that I didn't even expect. The young kids had a great time. My teenager had a great time. All of the adults also had a great time. The tickets were pricey for a museum. I wish they had been open a little bit longer. We didn't have time to see and do everything that was there. We could have stayed another 2 hours.

This is one of the best museums I’ve been too. I was first skeptical about going there thinking I didn’t want to spend my day look at cars; I was wrong. There’s so much more to see. Yes there are cars, but there is history, the Rosa Parks bus, presidential cars, and so much more. You definitely need at least 2+ hours to see everything. There’s an indoor exhibit and an outdoor living experience which we didn’t do this time as it was cold. You can do both, but that would need two days. We will be going back to do the outdoor part over the summer.

All of the staff was amazing! Each one spoke to you every time, acknowledged you when you entered, said bye when you left, always asked if you needed any assistance or had any questions. So so helpful and I'm so very appreciative, they were all wonderful! My son and I can't wait to go again! So many gift shops lol. Need at least 2+ hours to see it all, but it's worth it. So much history, some areas are like stepping back in time, it's so cool.

Not a car museum, but there are cars. This is an American History museum primarily... more Smithsonian-like. I have to say it's one of the best museums I've ever visited. It really is amazing what our forefathers were able to accomplish to build America. Highly recommended. Kid friendly!

What can I say...I'm a Ford lover. My dad has always loved Ford as well. So going to the Henry Ford museum was on our list of things to see. It didn't disappoint. There is so much history there it's unbelievable. The presidential limo collection is fantastic. The Rosa Parks bus, and Lincoln chair are great too. There is literally too many things to see for me to list them all here. You can easily spend hours here. Even if you aren't a car person per say, come for the history. Also...The mold making machines are fantastic. I got a bunch of them. Kids and adults alike will love this place. The price for admission isn't unreasonable either. I took a ton of pictures while there. If you're on the fence about going to the Henry Ford museum...do it! You won't regret it.

Visitor from the UK wowed by this magnificent mueseum. Great variety of exhibits, but one of my favourite sections was the history of cars of all type . There was food and drink available at a couple of locations within the museum. Staff were very helpful, and all I all a memorable day buy, I will have to come back one day to catch up on anything I may have missed . Enjoy..

This is an amazing museum. So clean and has a great flow. The staff was so friendly and courteous. Always waiting to help out and gave great advice and tips for navigating the space. It's always good to ask people who know it best and they all seemed eager to help out. The exhibitions are fascinating. I was blown away by the gift shops and food service options. Barely had enough time to see everything and there seems to be 2 days worth of exploring, I will have to come back. Parking was easy to find on a Tuesday afternoon. The test track drive (simulation) was lots of fun and much harder not to crash then it looks, and a car load of fun. It was reasonably priced.

I have been to The Henry Ford many times but went this time specifically to see the Jim Henson/Muppets exhibit in the gallery. Although it was a nice display it was also slightly disappointing as there were not as many of my favorites there. If you are a big Muppet fan like me try to take your time going through the gallery as it does have a timeline of Jim Henson's career and many original sketches and story boards. Another new to me exhibit was the evolution of the race car. There are a lot of cars to see as well as a race simulator you can try out. It was a good day spent seeing old favorites at the museum and some new ones as well.

Spent a lovely day with family at the Henry Ford Museum and still didn't see it all! This is an amazing collection of Americana, with knowledgeable docents positioned in key areas helping their exhibits come alive. Our favorite was boarding the actual bus ridden by Rosa Parks, and hearing all about her and the movement that she was such a special part of. Lots of hands on here for the kids too. Amazing Apollo exhibit was just icing on the cake for a super day. I highly recommend!

Fascinating look at innovation & invention, including in domestic arts. Obvious conscious effort (in a good way) to make sure displays reflect the true diversity of minority innovators. Good interactive displays for all ages. The adjacent Greenfield Village is a nice step back -- often into actual historic places that have been reconstructed on the site. Note: We were surprised that there is NOT free parking (it's $9, which seems excessive, especially because the museum is already higher than comparable facilities, like the Space & Rocket in Huntsville, Alabama, which has free parking).

This is certainly the go-to museum in Detroit. It showcases American innovations and progress over the century, not just car-focused. You could spend at least 2 hours in the museum alone. There’s a rotating exhibit space that brings new things in to keep it fresh for returning visitors. There’s plenty to see and do, with sections on agriculture, furniture and housing, car racing, automobile production, aviation, locomotives, and more. The village portion of the grounds can add about 5 hours to your visit so come prepared!

The Henry Ford museum is definitely my favourite museum in Detroit. It displays a lot of history from the very beginning of motoring up to the present time. My favourite displays would be the United States presidents cars. Followed closely by the 1941 Allegheny Locomotive one of the largest steam powered Locomotives ever built. Very interesting to see also Henry Ford's kitchen bench engine, that's how it all started. There is so much to see in this museum not just cars. You can spend a whole day here enjoying yourself. I highly recommend a visit to this museum.

Wow, 12 acres to cover, this was an amazing museum. I think my favorite part was the steam engines. And the Nelson Mandela exhibition. I really enjoyed the trains too. Super cool. There is so much to see. I wanted to see the village but it was closed. And the guns are really fun to see too.

My visit to the museum was a great experience. The highlight for me was the impressive selection of cars, including those used by presidents. The exhibit showcased a diverse range of vehicles, adding a unique and fascinating dimension to the visit. The overall atmosphere and variety made it a memorable exploration into history culture.

Awesome place. Lot of stuffs to see, read and enjoy. From planes, cars, trucks, railway engines, railway coaches, antique clocks, antique phones, different types of agricultural machines (of different era's) and lot of other stuffs. Just take an ample of time with you. We had lunch at 'Plum Market's. A combo of chicken made with herbs and vegan Taco's. They were pretty decent but on the expensive side.

This museum has something for everyone! The Henry Ford has a history of cars, including presidential cars that were driven. Planes, trains, and tractors as well! Beyond that they also have an exhibit that looked at what was commonly used in every decade of the 1900s, and several other exhibits. I would plan at least two hours for a visit. Ps. My favorite item from the gift shop was the jewelry made from Mend on the Move, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit social enterprise, employs survivors of abuse in Metro Detroit to create jewelry which provides them with an income while in recovery. Our jewelry is created from salvaged auto parts and car seat leather, symbolic of our commitment to serve women locally in the "motor city".

One of the best museum I have ever been to. So much to see and a great place for all age. I had only 1.5 hours for the visit, so only got to see the museum part, but it was so worth it. The presidential limousines including the John F. Kennedy limousine and Rosa Parks bus were the highlights. It was really nice to see the inside of the bus and the seat Ms. Parks sat on. Other highlights included so many different models of Ford historical cars, and other American icon history including the original Holiday Inn room styles and McDonald’s signs and memorabilia. Worth the visit for any age.

The train ride was awesome especially for kids or if you want to say that you been on this historic train. Not necessary to see the village and the Ford museum is an easy walk away from the entrance. The volunteers are full of information, make sure you ask a lot of questions. You can even ride in the cars around town which we did not wait for since there was a line for tickets.

Very fun and entertaining. There is a lot of history here and very educational. The staff in the village are very welcoming and informative about their task on the working farm. The museum had a lot of very interesting cars, planes and other historical facts and items from the past. The only negative thing for today's venture was a stand in the village was distributing custard to the people in line, but it was melting as it was being handed to the people purchasing it.

What an awesome museum to see and visit! I was able to go on a field trip here and it was an great space to visit with the school. A ton of history to check out and really dive into if you have the time. The automobile portion was our favorite and the multiple "games" to try was a nice touch. We're planning another trip with the family and will spend the day exploring. Recommend anyone to stop in!

Amazing place. So much more than "just" FORD cars. So much more than cars. For me the cars were the reason I came here, all the way from Iceland. My parents told me 30 years ago I needed to see this museum, and I finally went..You can enlighten your self with so much history, all kinds of cool stuff and the open air museum is great. I enjoyed 4 hours at this museum, not enough wish I had spent at least 6 hours here.

Beautiful time had by all. Incredible collection allowing a walk through history. The staff had interesting information and stories to share about the period and life of those during that time. We have a membership. I would suggest a day for Henry Ford Museum and a day for Greenfield Village if you're not from this area. After that, you can choose if you need additional visits.

Have visited in a weekend. That was a nice experience to see all the old cars it had and all the old machineries including the old trains. Please be careful of you are buying combo tickets online because the factory tour will not be worthy on weekends since they don’t have any productions on Saturdays and Sundays.

I shared a couple pictures of my highlights of this trip. It's a pretty nice place to visit. They are lacking some restaurants or places to get some real food. I visited here about 50 years ago when I was a kid and we went to a nice Italian restaurant and had spaghetti dinner. That appears to be missing in the museum now. Their displays are awesome with a lot of history of our area and Past Times. I recommend it!

We events are held there as well. A landmark of Dearborn. You can't miss. Make sure you check if the house itself is open for visitors before you visit.

Great museum with a lot of history about cars and actual cars on display. It looks beautiful on the outside and inside! The museum is huge. I didn’t see all of it but of the stuff that I saw, it all looked amazing! They also have John F Kennedy’s car from when he was shot in the back of the head. We went here for an oncology pharmacy event. There was a band playing in the open area with a lot of great food and drinks! I would like to come here again to look at and read all of the exhibits. The museum staff were also helpful and friendly!

The Henry Ford is an incredible gift to metro Detroit! The museum is extremely well curated and has some unbelievable assets of American history, including the bus Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on, the car Kennedy was assassinated in, the chair Lincoln was assassinated in, and multiple Stradivarius violins. There are many more treasures: automotive industrial, and cultural. The temporary exhibits are always fascinating, including the current exhibit that explains how the museum considers and curates its assets. Membership allows you to make many short visits because there is so much to see. A must see.....

This is a museum of American innovation which makes it different from most other museums. It was large with some very large items (cars, race cars, a train section, early factory engines). This museum is not suitable for young children as there is little for them. We thought age ten or so might be best. BE SURE AND TAKE THE FORD ROUGE FACTORY TOUR. It was the best part of this experience. Make sure the line is running if possible. So cool to see a F150 in final assembly.

Kids had fun! We ran into a volunteer who was on break but very cheerful and conversational. It was cool to see the museum sections.... we were there for about 3 hours and only saw 2/3s of the exhibits (at kid speed). You could spend multiple days here. We got a tip to bring lunch, so didn't eat at any of the places there. Kids favorite things were the pit stop crew hands on activity, going inside the locomotive, and seeing the barnstormer planes. Adults found the JFK limo more significant than the littles.

What a wonderful experience! I didn't expect the museum to be as big as it was. There's so much history here about cars, trains, space, fight for justice and independence etc..but my favorites were the presidential cars and Rosa Parks bus. There's a cafe, couple of restaurants and a gift shop.. We also did the tour of the factory where we got to watch the workers making F-150's, now that was amazing!

This place is more than a museum. It's a great experience and a truly unique place. It's an insanely eclectic collection of things that we take for granted, but use on a daily basis. Furniture, cars, costumes, modular homes, locomotives, airplanes, restaurants, history, time pieces... everything comes together under the umbrella of innovation. They also give these innovations context by diving deep into their particular place in history. For instance - they have a replica of the Rosa Parks bus, but without context it might not resonate. They add plenty of context. Almost brought me to tears. Well worth the price of admission. Highly recommend.

This is a gigantic one storied museum! It took me almost four hours. If you are into automobiles and locomotives, this place is just for you. One improvement I would like to see would be the installation of pointers so that I understand which direction I should go next. I ended up walking through the same aisle multiple times because I turned to a direction that belonged to different genres of things. The map wasn't very useful in understanding which way the flow runs. Other than this, it was a good experience.

Greenfield Village next to Henry Ford Museum. Awe inspiring technology where it began all in one place on a spread out campus. We spent four+ hours and we didn't hit it all. Very cool and informative. Has replicas of all the greatest inventions brought from their original sites to this one inspiring location. I prefer the Henry Ford Museum, it contains iconic pieces of American History all in one spot indoors to boot.

A very full day of activities. A lot to look at, although some of it seems quite random, but there’s enough interactive spots along the way to keep the kids engaged. The big screen movie was really pretty cool and it’s convenient to be able to eat at the small restaurant there in the middle, which is pretty reasonably priced. The mathmatica area the kids dreaded by name, but ended up being a favorite part.

This museum is very well done, covering many highlights of industrial inventions and cultural developments in American history. 5 presidential limos, planes, trains, automobiles, carriages and stagecoaches, cultural displays by decade as well as big turbines and the factory production that made the products that made life easier. One of the best museums I’ve seen, interesting from start to finish. Well-done!

This is a great place to visit! There is so much to do and see one day is certainly not enough. If you are in the area I would certainly recommend stopping by. If you want to see it all without any rush I would recommend at least 1.5 days (assuming you take one full day). Make sure to look into the membership if visiting more than one day! The museum is mostly wheelchair accessible and they also rent wheelchairs if needed.

Only The Plum Market was open for food and I personally felt it was a little expensive for the amount of food given. I have tried vegan cauliflower tacos and they come with 2 mini tacos and 2 sides and costs $16. Better to carry your own food or head out to eat and come back (you can re-enter the same day if you have the tickets with you).

A little pricey to visit, but they have a huge collection to peruse. We recently visited for the Marvel exhibit, and we loved it. Our only complaint was that the gift shop at the end only really had stuff for small children. We were prepared to purchase some high end statues or other merchandise, but they didn't have anything like that.

Went to see the Marvel exhibit before it left. I felt comforting in knowing that Henry Ford is taking precautions in making sure visitors are protected. The Marvel Exhibit was beyond my expectations. I enjoyed the exhibit especially seeing some of the Marvel costumes.

My husband and I loved it! We could have stayed longer but, being a weekend, it started to get crowded. Great displays from historical moments. The bus Rosa Parks was on when she refused to move, the car Kennedy was in when he was assassinated and right now a great Marvel comics tour through the years. Plus planes, trains and automobiles!

Holiday Greenfield village was a lot better than 3 years ago when I went with my aunt and it didn’t snow. Seriously, this place is magical when it’s snowing. Otherwise it’s pretty dreary and dark and the fires aren’t as aesthetic. Shout out to my dude who recited like 15 minutes of The Muppets Christmas Carol around a fire. Great experience and thanks for keeping your mask on. I’m 24 now and appreciate the history a lot more but the merry go round is still my favorite part.

We take visiting family members all the time -- always a big hit. We had tickets to the 3D Polar Express movie also but had to go get fast food & eat in the car since there's not a restaurant open or concessions in the building due to Covid19 closing. Our group of 4 adults and 3 kids still enjoyed every minute of it.

This is my second time visiting this museum. We came especially to see the Marvel exhibit. It was very interesting. They are following social distancing procedures and there are hand sanitizing stations. It is mandatory to wear a mask while inside the museum.

Great museum and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys history and the occasional glimpse Into the future. The Henry Ford Museum and the adjacent greenfield village have plenty of amazing and fun exhibits that are windows into the United State's rich history and culture. And The Henry Ford museum doesn't just focus on cars! They have planes trains and automobiles and occasionally, they are host to a series of really cool traveling exhibits like the one for James Cameron's Avatar and these recent one for Marvel comics! It's a place for kids and adults alike! Just come with an openness and a willingness to learn, and a playful heart, and you'll have the time of your life. I'm giving it 4 stars right now though, because the prices are really high and not everything is open yet, including their diners and movie theater. Which is a huge shame because those parts of the museum are a lot of fun.

We wrapped up our visit of the area last summer when we visited "Fair Lane", the home of Henry and Clara Ford. It was under renovations at the time so we could only visit the grounds. The Fords gave back so much to the community, such as with the University of Michigan, Hospitals, Schools, etc. His legacy lives on with the Ford Foundation that was founded 85+ years ago by his son Edsel and Henry' currently it is still worth over $ 12 billion with annual grants to charity of over a half a billion dollars each year. A great family giving back! We salute them! I learned so much, our next vehicle may just need to be a Ford! 2nd large building is an early electrical plant built by Thomas Edison, Henry Ford's old boss and life long friend

This place was a great outing for us. We took my 2 year old son there and he had a really fun time. The Marvel exhibit (which we didn't even know was going on AND was sold out) was great. We inquired about it as we were leaving, found out it was sold out, so we left. One of the workers ran out after us into the parking lot and told us we could go in, if we wanted. That was really nice of them. Highly recommend this place.

This museum was an absolute delight! It was NOT just an old car museum. It was so I worth the admission and we really loved this place. So much to look at I can’t name it all. This is a must see destination! The day we visited Aug 2020, the admission was $22.50 for senior 62+ and $25 general admission. Hours were 9:30- 5:00. The Village was closed due to covid-19.

Spacious facility. Lots of exercisers walking around the magnificent displays of transportation history. We’ve had a membership to the museum and the village for decades. Always a memorable time with our children, and now grandchildren. The train ride in the village is a hit with the little ones.

Went to the Marvel Exhibit. It was great; my kids loved it. We also really enjoyed the toy trains. Family-friendly concerns: I was slightly disappointed that we couldn't take the baby stroller through the exhibit - despite almost no traffic in there. Also, the bathroom wasn't very accessible to children. All but one (of like 5 or 6) urinals was MUCH too high for a child. Also, the counters were too high for even my seven year-old to reach the soap dispenser. COVID related: We went on a Monday in Dec 2020 during the pandemic. There were very few people there, so it was very easy to get around. Masks/distancing required. Temps were not taken. Staff was properly mask compliant. Everything looked very clean.

Always good for an afternoon of walking around with the kids when the weather outside isn't great. They love all the different exhibit themes and areas. I'm always amazed at what they find interesting... I wouldn't think they would enjoy glass work or old clocks but give kids an opportunity and their curiosity will run wild. Truly a gem for Southeast Michigan.

Wow... what an amazing museum. The only problem is we did not allocate enough time to really take it all in. So do yourself a favor.... this is an all day visit. Just plan on it and enjoy everything it has to offer. We came to take in a special exhibition about the genius of Jim Henson. That exhibit did not disappoint. We, however also loved the Presidential limousine collection and would have loved more time to take in the giant trains. Oh if we had more time I am sure I simply could not say enough about the visit.

Really great exhibits very knowledgeable and dedicated workers water fountains everywhere they have water bottle fountains to fill up your water bottles plenty of great exhibits a great time for anyone who enjoys history a fun way to introduce your younger members of his family to history in a fun way $20 to $30 for two people to eat lunch including drinks maybe bring an extra if they are serving custard do you conserve Custard in late spring to early fall that is a very extra if you want that they're $5 wax figures there but don't get them for your kids they're more of collectibles and a break on the way home if you got one for your kid it's S5 exactly takes about 2 hours or two and a half hours to enjoy the museum you spend all day in The Village is only open during the fall summer and spring and a little bit during the Christmas holidays

  • 5/5 Deepa B. 2 years ago on Google
This is a really big museum with a vast collection of locomotives of all kinds- huge steam engines and machinery etc. The flying machines exhibit was our favourite- so it is more than just cars. Lot of walking and exploring so good 2-3 hours can be easily spent with family. They had a few kids activities however some needed extra payment like the arcade like car race game. I am looking forward to visiting again as the greenfield village is not open during winter. The factory tour is also extra cost if you want to experience that. I would recommend to leave the jacket at the coat hangers since the heat was on and it was quite warm inside.

This museum is about the American history. What an amazing place to admire the evolution of the United States of America! There are very valuable and inconical objects to admire such as the Lincoln Continental where Kennedy was shot, the chair were Lincoln was shot, the bus where Rosa Parks was arrested, a deconstructed Ford Model T, different items from Pop culture, historical cars, airplanes, trains, ads, and so on. If you love history, this is a must for you.

This was a work outing for me. I was a little skeptical at first... But, after we got in we were not dissatisfied. Our group was able to view the museum. It was larger then anticipated. We were basically able to complete able 80% of the museum before heading to the Ford Rouge tour. I highly recommend this place. If you are local take advantage of the membership. If not please plan for a full day to explore. Check out some photos below.

  • 5/5 Tom L. 1 year ago on Google
A wonderful collection of American technology. Good examples of trains, cars, planes, and Home Goods. These are the largest power generating engines on display anywhere. Two of the trains are immense. It is especially nice to be able to sit in the engineers seat of a coal burning locomotive and look out the tiny window that he used to survey the track ahead. On display, an impressive glass blowing machine, one of 13 that once supplied 90% of the world's light bulbs. This is a must see museum.

My husband has been here twice in his lifetime and has always wanted to go back. I loved this museum ( my 1st time)! Lincoln's chair from Ford Theater and the bus Rosa Parks was on are here. They have audio recording of Rosa telling what happened that had me in tears. Great museum.

My family and I really enjoyed this museum. There were so many cool cars but also trains and planes. I felt really old when I saw a McDonalds happy meal toy from my childhood, in one of the displays. There were also a lot of other cool exhibits. The one about slavery and Rosa Parks was so moving and sad. There were a lot of interactive elements in the car area. We were there for 4 hours and didn't see everything.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan, and as a passionate car enthusiast, it was an absolute dream come true. Very extensive Museum. Get there early. It took us about 5 hours with kids to completely exhaust the place. Seems to be very popular because the huge parking was almost full by the time we got there at 10.30 am. The highlight for me was seeing the original car that president JF Kennedy was assassinated in…I know, so morbid! And the original bus that Rosa Parks rode in when she refused to give up her seat.

Enjoyed the Museum of Henry Ford Museum of Innovation. Highly recommend the exhibit on Julia Child. Make sure to do the copper pots feature. It’s really fun to smell all the food. If you’re from out of town make sure to check with your hotel for discount tickets.

So much to see. So informative. Lots of walking. We also did the Village. Definitely recommend the train ride. There is so much to take in. I recommend going early and plan on staying all day.

Well rounded museum definitely a multi day visit to see everything. Some things we skipped like the art gallery , furniture exhibit and some of the village. Enjoyed the well displayed items, like the logos and historical items but some were replica or recreations. The glaring issue was displays with "Item Removed" would like to visit again.

We’ve been to so many museums and this one is by far the best if you are interested in industrial history. The collection is not Ford specific, but a wonderful selection of pieces covering a huge cross section of industrial history. We spent hours here and every single piece is worth a long examination. Many of the items are gigantic and shows the scale that is hard to see unless you’re standing right next to it.

You can easily spend the whole day here if you’re into museums. There are two nice cafes inside so you can take a break if you want. The exhibits are well maintained, but the entry fee was expensive compared to other places similar to this museum. If you want a tour of the factory, you will need to go there on a working day.

We have visited this museum a few times and each time you always learn something different. I highly recommend going early and spending a complete day. In fact, sometimes one day doesn’t even cover the whole museum. The museum is full of rich history of cars who they belong to Where they’ve been what’s happened to them etc. The Rosa Parks buses there the John F Kennedy car and I also believe the Lincoln chair is also there which was so fascinating. I couldn’t believe I was actually looking at it. It’s such a great place and I plan on going back again.

It had been years since I visited the Henry Ford Museum. I mainly remembered all the cars. I was surprised to find a number of other representations of American life included in their displays. Everything from furniture to toys. The emphasis is still heavily on the history of transportation, especially cars, but there are a lot of other things to see. It was really an interesting afternoon.

Great adventure for all ages. Lots of family friendly exhibits and photo opportunities. Great way to spend time learning about a variety of historical events. The exhibits that were there when we visit were Hallmark Ornaments and Civil Rights.

Amazing. Go here. You'll love it. The gentleman who is the resident model T expert near the disassembled model T exhibit was definitely our favorite person to talk with. He made our visit extra special. Can't say enough about how awesome this museum is. Went on the Rough plant tour and it's 10/10.

This was our first Holiday Night's at the Ford. It was an amazing experience. I would highly recommend it for anyone, but dress appropriately. The fireworks are shot off near the baseball field. It was a great time.

Fascinating and huge museum. Great for Americana lovers and US history buffs, but you need to dedicate at least 4 hours to get through the whole thing. As far as kids go, my 15 y/o got the most out of it, the 12 y/o lasted about halfway before asking when we would leave, my 4 y/o really struggled bc there are very few interactive exhibits. It is mostly see and read exhibits. My husband and I loved it.
