It’s really sad to see reviews posted that are from just miserable people. We loved everything about this place! The service & food were exceptional. I saw a review about the decor being strange… absolutely don’t understand that! It’s beyond quaint and spot on for a Swiss lodge feel. This same man reviewed that the portions were small… again, I disagree— portions were perfect! I can put back some food & I left so stuffed. They add in 18%, which I think is a great idea because it’s a tourist town, so it’s a great way to make sure his great waitstaff is rewarded correctly. We tip more anyway, so we were totally fine with this. So glad we took the time to check this place out. Heinz was so attentive & entertaining during our dinner. I’m a big foodie, so I try to add in a place that will give you a great experience on top of amazing food. This place exceeded both! This was our first time there, but we will be life long customers now!

Such an amazing fondue experience. We have them a ring to let them know that we were interested in making a reservation. They accommodated us immediately. We came by for our reservation and were treated like kings. Everything was so amazing, would highly recommend.

Heinz - the owner and originator of the restaurant - originally from Switzerland - warmly greeted us. It is a family owned and operated restaurant which is a rarity these days We enjoyed the salads, soup, raclette, cheese fondue, beef tenderloin fondue, and the chocolate fondue, and we were very satisfied. The food is authentic and delightful just like what we had in our recent visit to Switzerland. The restaurant itself is extremely cozy and clean. Our staff was so friendly, attentive and so sweet. Exceptional service all around. We will definitely be back on our next trip back to Stowe. Everyone needs to try it! PS : Don’t listen to the people who say the bread is stale and the cheese tastes like alcohol. They don’t know how a real fondue is like.

TOURIST TRAP This fondue restaurant left a bad taste in more ways than one. The prices were exorbitant, with a side of boiled potatoes costing a whopping 6 dollars, equivalent to a single potato's worth. Portions were laughably small, making the high prices even more outrageous. As if that wasn't enough, the side sauces were a monotonous symphony of mayonnaise flavors, offering no variety or creativity. The accompanying super small salad was nothing more than a few leafy greens drowned in a mayo-based dressing, a sad excuse for a side dish. And the bread was basic, tasteless, and stale. The tacky decor didn't help matters, with snowman decorations making an appearance before Halloween, added to the general confused mishmash of themes. Some of the decor was relevant, but it couldn't salvage the superfluous decor. To add insult to injury, the restaurant had the audacity to automatically charge an 18% tip, conveniently rounding up to their advantage. This blatant attempt to overcharge left a bitter aftertaste, making the entire dining experience regrettable.

Came here with my friends on February. Great place to dine out and wind down after skiing. The food was amazing and the servers where really attentive. The owner greeted us personally when we came in. We had the cheese fondue and the beef combo, sides are an added price but it does say so on their website. As an entree we had es latte, if you visit this place be sure to try it out. The chocolate fondue for dessert is perfect and all the food certainly left us full. The atmosphere was authentic and made you feel cozy and welcomed.

Not going to lie, I had doubts going into the restaurant with the negative reviews. The staff was very personable and caring. The decor was very homey, I felt very safe and comfortable with my partner (especially during covid). Here’s what we had for dinner: appetiser: cream of spinach with crab meat ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very home made, I loved it! It’s not gourmet, but the soup with the crab meat was excellent Fondue: cheese fondue + beef&shrimp combo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Despite the negative reviews about the cheese fondue, I think the alcohol level was just right! The bread is a bit stale, but overall it was not disappointing. THE SHRIMP Was the winner!!! It was so fresh! Maybe we weren’t supposed to dip it in cheese, but I highly recommend you dipping in the cheese. With all the complains with the small amount of potatoes, I don’t think it was a bad choice to have a smaller portion. After all IT IS ALOT OF CHEESE AND BREAD. And the potatoes are cooked to perfection, it was so delicious. So no complains on the fondue and broth 👍🏻 Drinks: glued wine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Basically a mulled wine, excellent! You should get it 😊 Overall, AMAZING dinner! Thank you for hosting us, can’t wait to be back!

Its a tourist trap. First of all, it is run by a family of southeastern asian. The food is not authentic. Second, it imposed 20% tip on our bill . After we protest, the waitress agrees to lower to 18%, against our wishes, just because it is their "rule". Third, its overpriced. We paid $45 for a small plate of beef. We ordered 3 main course broth and 2 desert. We ended up with paying $300. Most of us still feel hungry after this. We were deceived by the name.. I thought it would be an authentic fondue restaurant. They treated the local customers and tourists differently. They did not provide paper napkins and said they never provide napkins but only table cloth.

It is bad, very bad. The place itself has very cute theming and all of the staff are very nice. The food came very quickly and the whole place has a homey vibe. Now onto the bad. The food is pretty awful. First, the house salad is probably the worst salad I've had at a restaurant. It has a few greens and mayonnaise on top (or another sauce with a strong mayo base). The cheese fondue tastes like wine. It supposedly has other spices, but the wine is so overwhelming that you can't taste anything else. The beef fondue is solid quality, but it's just cooked in chicken broth. So, it's completely flavorless and leaves much to be desired. Even the chocolate fondue isn't safe. To be fair, this may be up to preference as it's dark chocolate fondue. And when they said dark chocolate, they mean the kind of dark chocolate that is extremely bitter. If you wanted sweet chocolate, this isn't for you. For two people, this will cost 150. Some overpricing is expected in a resort town, but this is unacceptable.

11/11/23- This place is ONLY GOOD for DESSERT ONLY. Never Go for Dinner- Not worth the $Amount of money, when there is so many more delicious places literally steps away. Literally Bread, Cheese, potatoes, steak, shrimp- NO FLAVOR small portion, with mayo as dipping sauce? I was SO DISAPPOINTED. The owners are kind, but the food was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING 😞

The food is good and service is friendly, but this place is off-the-charts expensive. Wow. $18 for a small plate of raclette as an appetizer is unreasonable. We had to ask for water and it was never refilled. We will definitely visit Stowe again, but we will not eat here, even if it the only option. Just not worth it.

200% overpriced. Paid at least 50% more than any other restaurant in Stowe, and I’ve been to about 50. Server auto added 20% to check for party of four (which was not posted) Would never return. Owner was well meaning and food was what you’d expect. Delicious cheese in a bowl. The “signature” drink was spiced warm wine (6 oz) for $16. The last tourist trap I’ve been to like this was the “rum distillery” on the British Virgin Islands 14 years ago.

The cheese fondue is quite good. Beef fondue is very tender. The place was full but it's not too crowded which is nice. It is quite expensive. $80/ person including 1 drink.

Cute little restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Food was half decent but prices were very high. There were charges for sharing and a 18% included gratuity fee, both of which were clearly stated. Definitely seems like a tourist trap to me and a dinner at 6:30pm only had 3 tables booked. Although there’s not any other fondue places nearby, I would hold off on this restaurant.

Delicious dinner - had the cheese option and the beef option. The beef was some of the most tender I've ever had and the cheese was excellent. Attentive service, wonderful flavors and solid prices. Note - there are very few tables in this amazing restaurant - get reservations!

The food is above good but below great for the price. We were a party of 4 and our tab was over $500. Be aware any food suggestions come with a charge and you will have a surprise at the bill. I love fondue, but not at those prices. Plus side, the owner was a hoot and was entertaining.

We came here Thanksgiving Night 2021 looking for something different. First time ever in Vermont. Mr Heinz sat us down early and recommended the warm wine. That’s the best thing I have ever tried. Place is friendly, service amazing, people are warm and food extremely delicious. Even though quantity of food is not the biggest comparing to the prices, it’s worth it. We went with 2 teenagers that didn’t even knew what fondue was and ate a lot and were very in love with the place. Keep it up!!! Great amazing restaurant 100% recommended.

Very interesting fondue restaurant in downtown Stowe. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was uniquely decorated in a Swiss way. The cheese fondue was very good and came with bread to dip as well as a salad (it cost like $25 per person because it’s a personal serving size). My only real complaint with this place was that it was very expensive for what it is. Our party of four spent $180 before tip.

The food was good and met expectations. The decor is outdated and the restaurant is very cramped. The prices are expensive for what you get. Last thing, check your bill as I was charged for an item we did not have. Also don t like the automatic 18% gratuity, I prefer to have a choice.

WOW!!! One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Our server was so kind and attentive. The raclette appetizer was delicious. The cheese fondue with apples and potatoes was PHENOMENAL. As was the Beef fondue. The perfect ending was the chocolate fondue dessert. Expensive but completely worth it. Cant wait to come back!

definitely expensive, but i see why. to be fair, they do give you a LOT of cheese, and we all know that isn’t cheap. you can tell how much work goes into the food and the experience. and the owner was lovely. will definitely be back.

My wife and I were traveling from Colorado and looking for a unique dinner experience. We stumbled on this beautiful, family owned authentic Swiss fondue restaurant. The dining experience was excellent. Having been to Switzerland on several occasions this is the most authentic that we have visited in the US. They have a selection of German, Belgium and other beers along with wines from several countries including Argentina and Switzerland. We had the cheese fondue and finished with the chocolate for two. The fondue is served in true Swiss style with baguette bread and sliced apples. This isn't an Americanized fondue where you have 20 different things to dip, instead the simple bread and apples make the amazing mix of warm cheese the hero of the evening. The chocolate was a dark mix served with marshmallows, pound cake, apples and bandanna slices and was delightful. Highly recommend this restaurant for the authentic experience, ambiance, amazing food and wonderful family who owns and runs this establishment. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Service was friendly. Food was delicious. Wine prices were surprisingly reasonable. If they offer you side dishes, know that it costs extra. Service was super friendly! It's not cheap, but it is delicious.

This place was horrible. Cheese fondue didn’t even taste like cheese. It seems they watered down their ingredients with flour or broth. Cheese wasn’t even stretchy. The beef fondue was horrendous quality. None of the food was edible. This place was absolutely horrendous. I cannot believe we paid $260 for 4 people and liked nothing on the menu. DO NOT come to this restaurant. Do not waste your money.

This place is interesting to say the least. Cozy atmosphere, but we walked in at prime dinner hour and there were no other customers there. They seem to charge for every little thing (sharing plates, extra dippers, automatic 18% gratuity even though service wasn’t really worth that.) I was even shorted on my change, but it was minimal, so I didn’t worry about it. We only got the chocolate fondue, and it was barely lukewarm, so we left a little disappointed. Maybe we just had a bad experience that doesn’t accurately represent this place.

We stopped during a visit to Stowe and it was wonderful. A family -owned restaurant with great service, we loved our cheese and meat fondue dinner and made sure to bookmark this place for future Vermont trips. If you’re looking for a cozy dinner post-skiing, make a reservation here!

We weren’t aware we needed reservations when we found the place on google. Lucked out on our last day here and called when they had just had a cancellation! It was by far the best fondue I’ve had, and the beer was amazing. It’s so worth the wait of an open reservation. The service was also amazing!

Great little fondue place. Everything was top quality. Mushroom soup was surprisingly good too! Owner is super nice. You can tell it's a local family owned business. Little pricey, but Stowe is. It is worth it! Save room for dessert!
