I travel the US a lot and am always searching for a good British Pub (not always easy to find a GOOD one). Red Lion delivered. Probably the best I’ve found for some authentic British food- yes they have good food. Nice beer selection too. I had a few pints of Old Speckled Hen Fine Ale. Superb! And the Pasty? Equally delectable! GM recommended anything with their gravy and he did not steer me wrong. 10/10 would highly recommend! 🍻 🇬🇧

I was in Milwaukee a few weeks back with some friends. While we were there, we caught a late lunch at the Red Lion Pub. The Red Lion Pub is a multi story British Pub, sports bar, and eatery. I noticed that they even have seating in the outdoor patio on the roof, but this was closed at the time due to chilly weather. For lunch I had an entree of Bangers and Mash with a side of Scotch Eggs, and a couple beers. My friends had an order of Fish and Chips, Cheese curds, and Scotch Eggs. The Bangers and Mash was just splendid, some of the best I have had in recent memory. Oh and in case you are wondering, Bangers are sausage links and Mash is quite simply mashed potatoes. The entire dish consists of Two massive sausage links on top of mashed potatoes and smothered in onion gravy. The sausage links were delightful! Browned on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The potatoes were so smooth and mashed to perfection, with no lumps. The onion gravy was thick, creamy, and contained large slivers of carrot. The whole dish coalesced wonderfully and I enjoyed every bite. As for the Scotch Eggs, these also impressed me. A Scotch Egg is an egg that is hard boiled, wrapped in sausage, covered in bread crumbs, and then deep fried. These particular Scotch Eggs also came garnished with some cilantro aioli sauce. Quite obviously the egg and sausage went great together and the whole thing was made even better by being deep fried. I loved them and I am tempted to try and make these at home sometime. While I was eating I washed everything down with two beers. The first beer I had on tap was a Bumble Bear Brown Ale from Lakefront Brewery. This beer came dark brown with a nice frothy head. The beer was very smooth and had a nice malty flavor with a touch of bitter. Definitely a good beer, especially on tap. I then followed this up with the classic and always great glass of Guinness beer. What can I say really, it's Guinness and it is great! In reference too the fish and chips and cheese curds, I did not personally try any of these dishes. There fore I can not speak to their flavor. However I can say that they looked and smelled so good! The fish that came with the fish and chips was huge and it appeared to pull apart wonderfully. The cheese curds also looked really good as well. Over all I enjoyed this British Pub and I was impressed with the quality of food I received. I will definitely be going back here in the future if I happen to be in the area!

The real deal. What a warm welcome I received from the owner David Price. Having lived in northern England a while back, I can tell you that this is a true reflection of a "proper British Pub". The walls are aligned with vintage British toys and rock legacy as well as autographed soccer jerseys of British players. If you like soccer, become a member of the fan club. The food and drinks (full bar and draft on tap) along with a cozy atmosphere and stellar views across the river puts this spot at the top of my go-to list. Check out the the history of the owner's hometown and how it relates to some of the most famous 20th Century British authors.

I could talk about how great this place is all day. The staff is the most accommodating, friendly staff in Milwaukee. The food is truly incredible and there is something for everyone on that menu. The place also offers an amazing atmosphere that can't be replicated anywhere else in Milwaukee. Whether you want a quick drink, to watch a soccer game, or to have a romantic evening, this is the place for you! Did I mention they have the best patio in the city?

Food was exceptional! As well as the prices! Me and my family went here to eat a few days ago and overall had a wonderful experience. Let me also just say that my stepson had ordered the kids cheeseburger and WOW! This place is now in second place in my book for best burgers in Milwaukee. One of the tastiest burgers I've ever had. Shout out to the cooks for properly seasoning & cooking!

The first time I came to red lion I was greeted by the amazing food and great hospitality from my bartender Katie. The food was great and came out promptly, I was very grateful that Katie went over the weekly specials for me, as it brought me back for both the wing night special and the taco special. On top of her special and drink knowledge, she brings a fun and comforting energy that perfectly matches that of this local pub. I will definitely be coming back regularly for the amazing service.

Stopped here before we could check into our airbnb after a long morning of travel. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the beer was cold. Just what I needed to relax. Loved the boneless wings. Will definitely be back while I am in town.

Very impressed with the authenticity of the British dishes. Fish and chips were very good, though it wasn't served with malt vinegar - I am not sure if they have it or not, but assuming that they do if you ask. Bangers made in-house. Chicken Wellington was amazing!

While visiting Milwaukee today from Dallas I tried the Red Lion British Pub based on previous reviews, and was not disappointed. Had the Fish and Chips and was spot on cooked perfectly. Tasted great, big portions, beer was excellent, will definitely come back and would highly recommend.

After a day out and about, Andrea Dexter and I stumbled across Red Lion Pub for dinner. Always a fan of a good British Pub, and noticing soccer on the television inside, we opted to go in for dinner. The interior is reminiscent of a true UK establishment, a well stocked wooden bar with cozy seating and a few televisions around to keep up on the various games. We were greeted and seated quickly, and offered a series of special drinks (we both abstained). Very shortly thereafter we got our order in, and quickly thereafter we were served. As an appetizer we picked up the Scotch eggs, which came with 4 halves (2 eggs), wrapped in sausage and deep fried. These were incredible, with great taste and perfect texture, and came with a nice mustard sauce over the top. Definitely recommend these! For a main, Andrea Dexter had a chicken, potato and corn bowl, similar to those you might find at a KFC. While an improvement on the fast food offering, and a good meal, this was nothing to write home about...just FINE. I had the Bangers and Mash, sticking to traditional UK fare. This was an excellent choice, as it hit EXACTLY the boxes you'd be looking for in British food...peppery, savory, stick to your ribs food. I find English food hard to "write home about", but if you are looking for some great home-style UK cooking, this is a great option. We would definitely see this as a great option to go and sit down, watch a soccer game and have a nosh! Try it out!

I'm always surprised that this place isn't busting at the seams. Great atmosphere on all levels including a unique patio space on the roof. Food is always great and servers are very personable. The authentic menu is delicious includingthe bangers and mash and my personal favorite, the scotch eggs.

Definitely recommend! Being in Milwaukee on business and not familiar with the menu, the waitress recommended both appetizer and entrée. Scotch eggs are wonderful, with the pan fried walleye was even better.

As always, Red Lion delivers when it comes to drinks & food of a UK persuasion… from the Giannis (lamb) burger to the Scotch Eggs & corned beef delicacies, they’re all great. The “F*king Delicious” drink with the cinnamon stick is just as it’s name implies & their beer selection is great.

Bar was a ghost town on a Monday night. We sat on the patio, our server was super sweet. Would have given more stars but we tried ordering cauliflower bites, they were out. The fish and chips was okay. Crispy breading was nice. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Lot's of bottled beer to choose from.

This was our first visit & we came with a group of 9. Ryan attended to us & let me tell you, he was wonderful! We can be a handful. We had the Scotch Eggs, Cheese Curds & the pork & pasty app. to start. The Scotch eggs were the tables fav. The pork pasty was good & the curds were really gooey. They had run out of corned beef which sucked, but we made due. The baked tomato & grilled cheese sandwich was really good. The walleye was enjoyed as well as their fish & chips. Chances are very good that we'll be back. The only question we had & no one could answer is...who is the guy in the picture smoking a cigarette?

Good food, affordable drink specials and a lively atmosphere. Great place to watch a game or gather with friends. Only 4-stars because service could have been a little better.

We were looking for a good Friday fish dinner to try. They nailed it with the grilled tilapia. The portion sizes were the perfect size and each side was a delicious compliment to the fish. My taste buds are salivating just thinking about eating this all over again. I absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere was inviting. Upstairs outdoor patio area had a great vibe and an awesome view. A+++
