Super solid comfort food! Definitely get lots of napkins for the Which Came First Sandwich it's tasty but a bit messy. The Which Came first can also be easily split if your not a big eater. The man running the place was really nice and just made you feel good (honestly I didn't talk to him much but even after my akwardness I left feeling good about the encounter). So great food great person would love to go again and try more dish's if I lived in Astoria. Update: I reheated the sandwich half I couldn't finish the next day and it still tasted good 👍🏻.

Superb! Hearty, strong, flavorful and fried perfectly. Thats no overstatement either. Everything was fried right to the perfect crispy but soft gold. The owner and operator makes everything from scratch even his delicious apple butter, made with fresh apples. Jordan the owner said "that mac has it's own area code out here" and its earned it. The Po Boy, What Came First and Stacked Mac are all options I've personally tried and recomend more than anything in the area. Jordan is also extremely friendly and creates a genuinely welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for his patrons.

Surf 2 Soul has been the best thing I've eaten during my time in Astoria, OR. This unassuming food cart on the corner has food that will definitely feed your soul. So much, that i came back regularly to try the menu (or at least, most of it). 1st dish: PO BOY: The sandwich is hefty filling with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers (that are pickled?) which pairs with the perfect amt of breaded shrimp that makes this fried dish feel light. I thought I had to add fries but it comes with it with ketchup and more shrimp. Hot sauce is available and gives it a kick if you like spicy. When sitting at the table, I could hear fries being cut- steak fries with humble looks but good for your soul. 2nd dish: Chicken 'n a biscuit: Heavy, hearty. It's fried chicken, almost like a chicken fried steak, and a cheese biscuit covered in gravy. It was the perfect amount of salt as it leaves room for you to add hot sauce. The only sad part is that the biscuit was too flaky (?) so it couldn't stay with the chicken/gravy on the fork to get the perfect bite consistently. 3rd dish: Stacked mac and cheese: According to Jordan, this is the most popular item that it has its own zip code... and I can see why. It's covered in cheese sauce with green onions (optional) on top. I would order pickles/cucumbers to break up all the cheese. Listen to Jordan and don't eat the whole thing or even 1/3rd of it if you want to be productive, haha. 4th dish: Crab Cake Po Boy- I thought this was good but I liked the shrimp better, may just be preference. The crab cakes aren't little tiny discs but a good size filled with meat, not just a bunch of filler. I'm so pleased to have found this food cart with quality food that doesn't make you al a carte every single item to rack up the bill and provides full, delicious, and satisfying meals. I found Jordan on this Google page and he is as friendly as they say. Thanks for feeding me esp on my days off which I attribute to avoiding having food sell out! If you're in town, passing by, this is the place you definitely should not miss as this cart deserves every success that comes their way! GREAT JOB!

Actually unbelievable how fantastic the chicken and waffles are. Like I have never had chicken and waffles even nearly as good as this place, and that includes every southern soul food place I’ve ever been to. It’s been a solid month since I last came here and I still think about it more often than I’d like to admit. The flavor was fantastic, the chicken was cooked and fried to perfection, the cheese that was dripping off the face of the sandwich was mouth watering, and everything just tied together so perfectly. I will make it a habit of mine to visit this place specifically any time I’m passing through Astoria. This man has his recipe down, and has the market absolutely CORNERED. Nobody else comes even CLOSE to the fantastic quality this guy brings to the table. 11/10.

I'm not the biggest fan of mac n cheese. Like, I like it from time to time, but it's never my go-to. However, I have now repented after the life changing meal I had at Surf 2 Soul. I asked what was good and the stacked mac and cheese was the recommendation I was given. I hesitated a little bit, maybe thought about getting a po boy, but who knows better than the cook, right? Do it. Get it. Go to Surf 2 Soul and get the stacked mac and cheese. It is the perfect blend of creamy, cheesy, salty, spicy, crunchy, and savory. I have never had such a delicious plate of cheesy noodles in my entire life. I will absolutely be bringing my wife along next time because mac and cheese is her favorite meal!

BEWARE the fried pickles side is effing HUGE 😵😨. Best ones I've yet to try. Plus the shrimp and grits did NOT disappoint. And friendly service to boot!

Yum double yum! We ate here 2 days ago and as I write this review my mouth began to water. Here is what I know: The best fried pickles we’ve ever had, thinly sliced, slightly battered, bursting with flavor and enough for 2 or more. Plus dipping sauces that are perfectly paired. Shrimp n grits were amazing and I finished on the spot! Stacked mac n cheese was infused with Cajun flavor and the chicken was sliced perfectly. It’s as if the cook knew exactly how and what we wanted and served it right so. We picked the items but he delivered masterpieces. A must stop and we will be stopping every time when we travel through this area!

The food was great and the man's attitude was incredibly kind and down to Earth. My partner and I got the Po Boy, Stacked Mac n Cheese, and the peach cobbler. All were great!

This was my first time eating here and it was amazing. This definitely will not be the last time I visit. It more than exceeded my expectations! The loaded Mac and cheese was the perfect with a hint of spice and the bacon and scallions were a nice touch.

I was passing by Astoria. I’m not even a fan of heavy food. But my daughter wanted Mac n cheese, so we got Stacked cheese, Po Boy, and a sandwich that was the first thing on the menu. They were ALL so AMAZING. (I also don’t like using all capital letters, but they deserve it.) The cook/owner was pleasant and the price was very reasonable. Everything we ordered was amazing, and I especially loved his attention to details. I don’t know what he did to the pickles, but the sweet crunchy thin cucumbers give the sandwich the perfect balance. The ketchup, is not just ketchup. This guy put something in there that makes me want to lick the cup. I would love to come again to try out other things on the menu.

Found this place on a whim and we are SO glad we did. The food was incredible, the owner is great, and there’s nice picnic table seating in the back. Definitely recommend the hush puppies!

We are from out of state and felt compelled to post a raving review. Everything was outstanding, very clean and fresh frying oil. We had the Mac stack, the Mac tasted homemade. We also had the biscuits and gravy with fried chicken, just heavenly. We all thought the apple hush puppies were out of this world. 10/10 recommend. Don’t miss out

Cute little food cart in the heart of Astoria. Ordered the stacked mac and the Which Came First. There was a group of people before us who had told us the portions were huge and that it's easily shareable between two people. But me and my brother wanted to try both the chicken waffle sandwich and the mac. Which was a BIG mistake. Only because it was sooo much food. I was full off of half the waffle sandwich. This sandwich is a heavy choice. Actually everything on this menu is pretty heavy so be prepared to eat and bring some friends. A good price for a good amount of food. The mac and cheese was okay. I'm not sure I'd order it again if I'm being honest. Not my cup of tea but to each their own. Jordan was awesome though. Super friendly and helpful. I would go there again just to get stellar service from Jordan again!

I had my husband drive us 40 minutes in the rain because the pictures looked so good. It was 100% worth it and I would have driven hours to visit now that I know the food is even better than expected. I got the "Which came first" that the owner recommended, and even though I'm normally not a waffle fan it was perfectly cooked and soft. It had a fantastic flavor on it's own but the pimento cheese added to it. The chicken was the star, I have NEVER had fried chicken that flavorful. Crispy, mouthwatering, juicy and succulent. I don't even like fries but they were fresh, crispy, and thick. I'm not kidding when I say every part of the meal was perfect, I have half left over and can't wait to have it for later! The owner was the sweetest man!! We've been visiting here a week and this was the best food we've had the whole time, nothing else even compares

This was 10/10 all around. AMAZING. I highly recommend this food truck, and get the “Which came first”!! So much food for an amazing price. Had to put the other half in the fridge since I am stuffed. Best food I have had while in Astoria Oregon. Will definitely be back. Very friendly guy, and knows what he is doing.

I got the po' boy today. It was $15, came with fries. It was AMAZING 😍 I would drive all the way back to Astoria just to go here. The fries were 🔥🔥. And he gives a side of fried shrimp on the side. The value was there, the flavors were on point, and those pickles were something else. 10/10
