Beautiful event space (even the bathrooms) with plenty of room for mingling. Lots of nearby parking and easy access to get inside.

This museum is so awesome. It is a renovated, re-purposed library with so much architectural detail and beautiful stained glass. The World Food Prize is an important prize in the agricultural and food industries and this museum does a great job talking about it and giving you the history of it and its founder. I highly recommend you make it a point to visit this museum if you are ever in Des Moines.

Amazing place, the history of agriculture and advancements in science over the years. Our guide was AMAZING with a wealth of historical information. We learned so much here in our short visit. It's amazing that the World Food Prize has grown so, too bad the actual event is too large now to be held on this site.

What an unexpected adventure in Des Moines! I can't believe that I had never heard of Dr. Norman Borlaug, or of the World Food Prize, because the importance of him and the honor of the award has changed the world and we didn't even know. Highly recommend, I think it's a must-do on your trip to Des Moines, or even if you've lived here all your life, if you haven't been! My guide, Mr. Renze, was very personable and helpful throughout the tour and answering nearly every question I had.

Beautiful gardens outside. Beautiful building inside and out. Many beautiful murals inside the building. This place is the home of the “Nobel prizes” of agriculture.

The venue and staff are exceptional to work with! Their vendors are some of the best professionals in Des Moines who know how to create a personalized and quality event. I would recommend the WFP building to anyone interested in hosting a wedding or event in downtown Des Moines!

So nice to see this beautiful building restored and being used for events. You can still see in the floor tiles "City Library" which is a nice reminder of what the building used to be.

Attended the Candlelight Concert event. Everyone in my group enjoyed it very much. Would definitely go again if they come back to town. This was the perfect venue for it.

Wonderful experience! Setting was much more intimate than expected. Quite lovely. The musicians were phenomenal & fun making the evening exceptionally enjoyable. Could not help but to move to the music! Outstanding choice & delivery of music for the Halloween season. I would recommend sitting in section A for the very best experience. If you want to take video or photos at the end when they allow it, you’ll want to be in the first two rows. We were in the third row, section A and it was difficult to obtain any video or photos without them being unobstructed. We are so happy that we have already purchased tickets for the Taylor Swift candlelight with our friends after last nights experience!! This type of event would be a wonderful gift for anyone I believe. So grateful we were able to be there for the first one in Des Moines! Thank you to the musicians, again they were magnificent!!

World Food Prize Hall of Laureates is a beautiful space with absolutely lovely staff! The building assisted my team from NYC when we were visiting Des Moines and went above and beyond to accommodate us. I encourage anyone living or visiting Iowa to stop by and admire the exhibits that shine light on the fight against hunger.

Very cool space located in a former Rockefeller library. Honestly, when I booked the tour, I thought this place was dedicated to giving out some James Beard like food award but when I got there, I realize the food laureate prize is the equivalent of the Nobel prize for people who help with food access to the masses. That was very interesting to learn, as I did not know, that kind of award even existed, and it was very cool learning about the history of the award. Our tour guide was great even though we had quite the rambunctious tour group with us who wad not really focused on the building or the award itself. One of my favorite parts was going into the basement and seeing the WPA mural that wraps around the entire former reading room. It’s sad to see that they had a former interactive exhibit that they were no longer taken care of because of technological advancements or difficulties or something like that. It would be very cool to see more people be able to access this place as it’s a great location on beautiful grounds, and a beautiful building with a beautiful mission.

Historical Libary, repurposed to an exhibit and event space. Basement has interactive display that shows the hiatory. 2nd floor has art diaplays.

Absolutely wonderful. Having read Mann's " The Wizard and the Prophet" I was very much looking forward on our trip to DM to see this Borlaug monument, and was not dissapointed. Highly recommend. I had tried yesterday, but only open on Saturday (and very poor signage or information available). Fortunately I was able to come Saturday morning.

A beautiful building of purpose and great vision. Check the website for tours, and learn more about food security, along with some history of Des Moines. This used to be the old library, and comes with some stories as well!
