The Capital grille was a great experience. The food was exceptional, except for the New England clam chowder. Maine fish Market Restaurant had a much better New England clam chowder. Our waiter Jordan was very attentive. I deducted a star because it was a tad too dark for my taste.

I have visited The Capital Grille a handful of times and each visit is a great as the first. The food is of the best quality, the drinks are great, and the service is exceptional. My favorite thing on the menu is the lobster mac n cheese, lamb chops, and crab cakes. Great place for a date night or if you're wanting an intimate dining experience. P.S. They saved my life with a last minute reservation on Mother's Day and even made a special custom dessert plate for my mom that I requested. The waiters go above and beyond!

The service is always exceptional and the food’s quality is on another level! Our server (Nick) was warm and welcoming and highly accommodating to my vegetarian needs. Love bringing my loved ones to Capital Grille, my husband was really happy with the ending surprises!

We came here for our 5 year anniversary and The Capital Grille did not disappoint. The service from beginning to end was top notch. Our server, Mary, truly made the experience special and we loved every minute of it. The steaks were cooked precisely as requested, and everything tasted great. Also I had mentioned in the reservation that it was an anniversary, and everyone made a point to make us feel special from the rose petals on the table to the gorgeous dessert and sparkling wine they brought. The 1st time we dined at Capital Grill about a year ago was for Mother's Day. Our waiter Luis was AWESOME. Top notch service, everything was spectacular, food came out fast. We got a complimentary shot of house vodka, champagne & dessert. I even received an extra Rose. It was such a beautiful evening my husband & I went a 2nd time for his Birthday. Our waiter shared knowledge about different wines & what complimented our meals. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Everything was on point. No doubt that staff give 100%

The Mac & cheese without the lobster was great. I also had a salmon that was delicious. I could taste all the flavor that the menu listed. It was a wonderful and comfortable experience. We were dressed casual, my wife and I. Not from the area, we just happened to come from MA to visit a friend. We were suggested Capital Grille. We were made to feel like regulars, super comfortable.

Excellent service and very good food. The professional waitstaff is what you would expect at a premium location. Bread selection was outstanding. Apps were excellent. However, the tuna, which was ordered medium-rare was super undercooked; more like raw-rare. Luckily, I did not mind too much but I was looking forward the a warm piece of meat and this was basically seared cold sushi. Crowd was lively with their dim lighting atmosphere and background music.

My husband took me to the Capital Grille for my birthday and it was fantastic! Our table had decorations on it along with a hand written card written by staff, our waiter Nick was top notch and our meal was delicious. They surprised us with champagne, dessert and a framed picture at the end. So sweet and so good.

First time at Capital Grille and it certainly will not be our last. Sat at the bar and Louis was phenomenal. He was polite and attentive. Had the Filet Tuna Tartare, Wedge Salad and sides. Steak was cooked perfectly. Everything was delicious. Can't wait to return.

This is my new favorite restaurant! Top notch service at every turn. It was our first time there and we were celebrating our anniversary. We were seated upstairs in the Mark Twain room which was perfect. Quiet and a bit more intimate. Lighting was perfect. Brandy, our server, heard it was our first time there and came back with two complimentary glasses of champagne before she even knew it was our anniversary. Our food was phenomenal. My sea bass was outstanding. Hubby’s steak and lobster was cooked perfectly. We were too full for desert but Brandy surprised us with a slice of the flourless chocolate cake in our To-go bag with hubby’s leftovers. We also enjoyed Louis at the bar where he created a wonderful custom mocktail for me as well as fast and efficient service from the valet. It was truly a wonderful experience and we will definitely come back again.

We hand 5:30 reservations for a 7:30 show at the Bushnell (15 minute walk from the restaurant). Food was great, I had twin South African lobster tails and my companion had the roasted chicken breast with mushrooms and risotto. The lobster tails were bigger than Maine lobster tails and sweeter in flavor. The chicken was cooked perfectly, moist and flavorful. The risotto included little pieces of asparagus and that dish was delightful. Signature cocktails were also excellent. The service was a little slow as the place was packed and they wanted you to enjoy fine dining and they did not rush you. However we were walking to the theater so we had to rush a little at the end and the waiter accommodated us. The atmosphere was a little noisy and dark for my taste but I still would go back to this restaurant anytime I was in the area. Very nice meal

Went for Valentines Day dinner & it was pretty good. The sides could’ve used some seasoning & the risotto was a bit mushy but overall the meal was good. The drinks were very strong & good as well. Staff was polite & attentive & I appreciated the complimentary valet.

Nice restaurant. Great atmosphere in the bar area. Waitress was so attentive. Filet was delicious. Drinks made well. The Bohemian Absolute Peach, mixed berry cordial, champagne, fresh raspberries and a filet mignon. 😁

We just had a nice Mother’s Day lunch at The Capital Grille! My parents had come here back in August for their anniversary and had a great experience, so my mom requested to come back today. I liked that they had their regular menu with some brunch options to choose from as well. The lobster bisque and heirloom tomatoes with burrata were great starters. My mom and I each had an order of the 8 oz filet mignon with the white cheddar hash. The steak was cooked perfectly, and she liked that she could add on the lobster tail with her’s. The hash could’ve used a little bit more flavor, and I was a bit surprised that when it said it came with asparagus, that it was literally one asparagus cut in half. Good thing we ordered some sides for the table to share! Very tasty mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The coconut cream pie was a huge dessert and very well liked by the table. I also appreciated the delicious bread basket filled with some great choices, like blueberry bread and everything rolls, paired with a nice salted butter. Our server, Shane, was very professional and did a great job of taking care of us. The restaurant itself had many beautiful dining rooms! I would be happy to dine here again for a special occasion!

This restaurant does not disappoint!!! Made a quick reservation for 4 to celebrate my husband's birthday! Reservation- PRO quick & easy online process. I entered the occasion and to my surprise, the staff decorated our table and signed a birthday card for my husband! Service- PRO waiter super attentive (kept the wine bottles coming) made sure our orders was taken & prepared as requested. We ordered the "special": boned in Filet with Cajun shrimp & lobster tail!! Cooked to perfection. The waiter also provided the birthday guy cheesecake to celebrate his day! Facilities- PRO atmosphere & ambiance was great! Valet parking is available. Cost - PRO it's a true steakhouse! Bring your wallet & credit card! Overall, I would definitely recommend The Capital Grille. The food & service is impeccable!

Food was delicious. Ambience was very nice. Went there to celebrate a birthday with friends. They pay attention to their guest. Our waiter was Chris and he was very nice. The food was good as well. No complaints there. Overall, very nice place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, or a very special occasion. The only thing I didn't like was they could only split the bill 2 ways. Every one had cards which kinda put us in kind of a bind. But we're were about to work it out. I would go again but bring cash or a major credit card.

There are absolutely no complaints. This is 5 star dining. The staff was very attentive and though we arrived early we didn't have to wait. Our table was already set up. Food was also delicious.

Made reservations at Capitol Grille on 3/4/23 for supper. For some reason our reservation was not made (very possibly on our side) they accommodated us immediately anyway. Our server Shane was PHENOMENAL!!! He went over and beyond to make our visit exceptional. Not only was the meal absolutely delicious but my husband casually mentioned we were out to celebrate my birthday. Shane took it upon himself to bring me the most decadent desert and sang happy birthday!!! He took a picture for us to remember the night. If you have never been GO!!! ASK TO BE SEATED IN SHANES SECTION! You won’t regret it and I can’t wait to go again

Service was impeccable. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect. Not to bright, very clean and a perfect private booth. I got the cob steak salad. Unfortunately the lettuce was soggy and to tomatoes were mushy and not edible. The steak was cooked to perfection. I was able to let my 7 month old even have some!! My daughter got a chicken and risotto dish she absolutely loved. My husband got the special steak sandwiches. Unfortunately they were very under cooked. The server did notice and asked if he wanted them put back on the grill. He brought strawberries and blueberries for the kids. The espresso martini was the best I've had in years as was the old fashion. We would definitely like to try again.

Absolutely phenomenal! If you are looking for a great & high quality of fine dining experience. This is the place to go!! The staff was very professional, kind, & went above & beyond. To make sure you didn’t have to lift a single finger, so you can just kick back & enjoy. The environment was very calm & relaxing. And of course the food was outstanding! I had the filet mignon made by Chef Kevin, with the truffle fries & it was tasty & incredible entrée. Very filling, I even took the rest home & ate it all after. Worth every single penny & the traveling distance. I highly recommend it & look forward to coming back again.

The restaurant is awesome. We ordered wine degustation - 6 Californian wine and one rose from France. It was a great experience. We got a story about each wine and differences between them. The waiter kept bottles all the time near our table and made sure our glasses was not empty. Food was outstanding, lamb, beef, calamari were perfect. The exterior is remarkable - hundred bottles of wine surround you making fantastic atmosphere.

My husband took me out for our wedding anniversary dinner to this amazing restaurant. I was speechless with every detail, from de red roses petal on the table to the bubbly champagne toast we had at the end. The waitress so polite, made our experience one of a kind.

I went here for my birthday, Such a clean, comfortable atmosphere. When I came in they set up my table with little birthday decorations, and a letter on the table! It is much appreciated! The food 10/10! Birthday dessert, 10/10 I am writing this review the same day as my birthday! Such a beautiful place, and When you make a reservation make sure to let them know beforehand it's your birthday! It makes it even more special and make your visit more personalized.

I decided to finally give this place a try. Shane, the server, provided an appropriate level of service and a manager came to greet us and inquire about our experience. In an effort to be polite, I indicated that it was fine. The chicken with mushroom risotto was tasty, however, the clam chowder soup was not hot. I was hungry so I ate all of my food but my date barely touched his soup and only ate half of his chicken and mushroom risotto dish. I decided to try dessert. I selected the crème brûlée style cheesecake. It was beautifully plated, however the taste was just ok. My date offered me to make a selection of food and/or dessert to go, but I declined. A regular diner

It was my husband's birthday and our first visit to a Capital Grille in CT. I have been to the Capital Grille in Boston near the Colonnade and enjoyed the meal, but this location's service and excellent preparation of our meal was superb, "made me say I have to return". The valet parking occurred quick and was appreciated as parking downtown can be a pain. Hostess was courteous and while walking to our table every employee we passed greeted us. Nick Nusso was our waiter and made my experience even better. He was attentive, made excellent recommendations and was very patient with my hard to please guest. I truly appreciated how Nick handled everything that was thrown at him. Hats off to Chef Fred and his line staff. We started our meal by having oysters, calamari and steak tartare for appetizers. The steak tartare was okay, a little too mushy/wet for our liking (I think it was brushed with an egg wash too), calamari was good, but the oysters were the best I have had since hubby and I went to Abe and Louie's. They were perfect and fresh with just the right amount of that salty ocean flavor, I loved the pepper, garlic, red wine vinegar mix that came on the side too. I had to order a drink I enjoyed the oysters so much, and decided to order their signature drink which is the Stoli Doli, I ended up getting two, lol. Our ribeye steaks were seared and cooked to perfection, medium rare. The picture of mine with the shallot butter doesn't do it justice, It was soooo good and was kind of a combo with the Kona rub and shallot butter. It was recommended by our waiter Nick because I liked the description for the preparation of the NY strip but I'm a ribeye girl and I wasn't in the mood for a strip that night. For sides, we ordered the mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, and lobster mac n cheese. The mashed potatoes shocked me with the freshness and flavors, hard to get great mashed potatoes nowadays, I enjoyed the butter and garlic they incorporated, it was a perfect amount of flavor. The asparagus was roasted and seasoned well, the lobster mac n cheese had visible lobster pieces but didn't provide a wow factor. We also had dessert and coffee, I had a cappuccino, excellent cappuccino Nick. From the valet service to the end of our meal the service and food was impeccable. We will definitely be back, my mom has a birthday soon, lol. Thank you for a very memorable night and the best meal I have had in a while. Well worth every dollar.

First time here. Service was excellent overall. Reuben, our host, was interpersonal and effective. The food was delicious. The price was expensive but well worth each plate and drink. We will continue to come to this establishment.

The quality of service here goes above and beyond any customers expectations. The food here is unbelievably delicious along with all the drink choices and wine selections. Our server Reuben Shah was phenomenal human being and a superb server as well. I strongly recommend his services for a high caliber dining experience. A must stop if in town or a local.
