This museum is a hidden gem! (Har-har) My expectations were very low, simply because it was a small museum in a small town. I was overjoyed and overwhelmed by all of the beautiful exhibits. Definitely worth the drive and the $7 fee.

A gem of a rock museum filled with gems! Take time to look at the rocks under ultra violet light, so interesting! The staff was super friendly and helpful. There were a lot of meteorites.

This place is a hidden gem (pun intended haha). I’ve been visiting family in Medford for years and had never been until recently — and wow did I love it. The museum is filled to the brim with stunning specimens from all over the world. You could spend hours looking at everything. I ended up going during one of the rock sales and there was so much to choose from. Came home with a gorgeous piece of calcite. Highly recommend for all ages.

I was expecting some local rocks. What I found was a true world class collection from around the world! (And if you include the meteorites thought to originate from the Moon and Mars, then from around the Solar system.) Most samples are well labeled, with type and place of origin and date found. Wonderful collection of fluorescent minerals in a dark room with UV lights that cycle different wavelengths and white light. Very spacious, clean, and beautiful building with friendly staff. The display on metamorphic rocks includes a piece of gneiss (pronounced nice). Nothing rare nor remarkable about it. But, I appreciate it because most people just take it for granite. :-)

Even though it’s off the beaten path, this is a great place to explore. I’m not a geologist so this was a very educational experience. Quite a few rooms with many displays. Very friendly staff, quite accommodating. Highly recommended!

Wow, I never realized how much petrified wood has been found in Jackson County. This is a hidden gem ( pun inteded) in the Medford area. If your children are into fossils, this is a "don't miss" place. Give yourself at least a few hours

What a gem! My kiddos loved this place. We stayed for about an hour or so walking the different rooms and checking out that large gift shop area. Staff were nice, there was plenty of parking and it was reasonably priced. It was a nice pit stop right along I-5 on our road trip.

A very nice and inexpensive way to spend about an hour looking around at interesting rocks and fossils from around the world. The staff is nice and parking is alway available. The only thing is I wish that they had is a guided tour. I think 90 % of the people stepping inside have no idea what they are looking at other than it looks "cool". Who knows maybe they do offer is to schools as a field trip but I have never seen it myself. I must say over all a nice smaller museum.

It was a neat little museum that had quite a few exibits to offer. Lots of different rocks and fossils and a ultraviolet room to check out. I noticed there were many from lots of states and even other countries. Fun outing with the family.

Always a wonderful experience. There's always something new in the gift shop and I learn a little more every time I go. The staff is always helpful and eager to share their knowledge. I would like to add a special nod to Ian. He is always a wealth of knowledge and I'm always glad to see him but on my last trip, he went way above and beyond his usual job description! As soon as I came through the door, I started to have a medical emergency. He noticed and was by my side almost immediately. He acted calmly and quickly, he went to my car and retrieved my oxygen pump and stood by quietly by until I was sufficiently recovered. Afterwards, he even stayed late to see that I had everything I needed. Ian, you are a truly special human being!!!

Amazing and breath taking, if you are into Geology and learning some of the history of the Coast and seeing spectacular pieces of minerals as well as some items hand carved by people, this is the place! The gift shop is also very well organized and staff is very welcoming to people who want to learn or are into the hobby. They have alot of services to offer to the general public.

Went to a rock show that they held in the side room of the main facility but still got to go through the main area! Everything was beautiful!

Loved the people and the huge museum of rocks they have. He even showed us some special rocks that react to UV light just to peak our interest he wasn't even selling them just being nice. I also loved the outdoor rock collecting and sifting. Nice people, lots of rare and cool rocks, and fun activities. Would definitely go back.

Stopped on our way to the coast to break up the car trip for our 4 yo and this was so much cooler than we expected! The collections were very impressive. The 4 yo loves gems and dinosaurs and I think his head exploded. Kiddo also enjoyed panning for gems (very worth the $).

We had so much fun here! The workers are super kind and helpful. The museum is huge and there is so much to see. We had a very large group but it wasn’t a problem. We also bought a bucket to gather rocks and we had some people do sluicing and it was so much fun. Everyone went home with something they were excited about! Definitely recommend!!

The Crater Rock Museum is really cool, they have lots of amazing and interesting exhibits. Mother nature is amazing and this place has so many different kinds of rocks and formations along with hand made item from various stones & rocks. You enter through the gift shop (lot of neat things to see in there too) then you pay to enter the museum. They give you a map so you can take your time walking around all the rooms. Cost $14 for 2 people. WELL WORTH IT! We spent over an hour here. Parking if free, they have a small parking lot. But we did see a Class a RV parked there.

Awesome place to let the kids, and yourself, need out. So many cool things to see, from the outside I thought it was only a couple rooms but there's so much more than that. Beautiful minerals, awesome meteorites, and even fossils!!! Plus our daughter got to pan for her own rocks to keep, we had a blast.

Pardon the pun, but this place is a gem! If you have even a passing interest in minerals or fossils, this is a must see. Amazing gift shop with some great selections as well.

My family which on this particular day, included not only my hubby, but his father, my step daughter and our 2 grandsons. We all had fun enjoying the different colorful rocks. And we could not believe how many rocks they had on display. It seemed to go on and on. We also loved the gift store. So 5 stars all the way!
