Took the whole family on a Saturday. It wasn't crowded. It was clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The activities are great for young and old. Overall a super fun family day

They make you wear a mask even though mask mandates have been lifted. Would have left if my kids weren't so excited. Also closed a lot of exhibits because of covid..

My nephew had a great visit to Ashland, and loved Science works. So grateful to have an excellent hands-on children's museum in our little town. Plus, this bear has watched so many kiddos grow up!

The staff is super rude, at one point I came up to them to ask a question. I politely waited because the two employees were talking at the front desk when one stopped looked inconvenienced and said "can I help you?" With attitude. They are really strict on masks to the point where if it slips down under your nose they will run over to you. Ive seen it happen firthand. Despite the mask hostility, none of the stuff looks wiped down, the airplane simulator has a quarter inch thing of dust on it. My kids enjoy it there and there aren't a lot of places close by to escape the heat and air quality but as soon as my membership is up I won't be going back. At least half of the things to do are closed . Super disappointed and wouldn't recommend.

ScienceWorks was one of our favorite places to go. However, it has really changed since the last time we have been there. The exhibits are dated and a portion of the exhibits appear to have been removed. What was there held my children's interest for about 30 minutes. Not a good return on the $27.50 it cost for us to get in. I also did not appreciate that on the day we were there, they were busy decorating for a very adult event that was going to be held that evening. The advertising for the event was right when you walked in and it was not appropriate for children. I did not appreciate having to explain to my children what burlesque meant. A children's museum is just not an appropriate venue for a very adult event, even if it is after hours. Why would any self respecting adult want to attend that event in a children's museum? It is wrong on many levels. Needless to say, we did not renew our pass this time and will not be coming back, which is unfortunate because safe engaging places for children are few and far in between in this area.

Fun and educational place to spend half the day with your kids. Seriously worth the time and money but I would hold back one star for a less then optimal amount of staff on hand. Still great but could be a little better. :)

I went today,3/17//23. The facility was well staffed. Staff walked around and spent time conversing with one another. I was not impressed by the lack of cleanliness ( papers all over the floor where the planes are made). I cleaned up the floor area along with my 2 and 6 year old grand child. In the room where the peg board and dominoes are, one can find spider webs on the walls ( see photos and enlarge to see the webs.) and the device outside that demonstrates echos was not fully functional due to garbage and debris inside. Someone could have cleaned it out some way or somehow so that we could have used it. There were a few activities that were not functioning and there were no signs on them...not sure if staff regularly inspect them throughout the day. I don't live in this state but I will be frequenting the place. I'm hoping something gets done about this and puts up signs as to how all of the things are sanitized. No one was able to explain that to this RN.

Having been to a number of science centers across the United States, this small but well curated center offers fun and informative exhibits that appeal to both young and old. Their tinkering studio offers children the opportunity to make and build, using modern technologies. They also offer a wonderful space for toddlers that is immersive and hands on.

We had our wedding at ScienceWorks and it was the PERFECT VENUE! Our guests (kids AND adults!) had a blast playing with the exhibits and the outdoor area -- with views of Grizzly Peak -- was beautiful for our ceremony and reception. Regina and Kevin were super helpful to make our wedding everything we had imagined! Highly recommend not just as a science museum but as an awesome event space!

Very cool hands-on stuff for kids. They had kids building little towns out of cardboard as a project when I was there. Nice exhibits that are entertaining and intrigue children.

okay. i have been going here for my birthday for about four years now every year. but the new dinosaur thing SUCKS. you should bring back the animatronic dinosaurs or the sound area. it is a disappointment going now but it is still quite fun. there is barely any thing there anymore and it is pretty expensive.

Myself and the kids loved this place. Is a great place to do and learn. I was only disappointed that i went on veterans day, asked if they had a veterans discount, and was told they only offer something to active duty. They serve, I've served what is the deference?

This is an excellent hands-on museum for kids age 1 - 12, and always worth visiting for that! This review is for their temporary exhibit, which is there till Sept 2, 2019, which is also excellent for adults! If you are in town to see some plays at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, plan an hour or two to come check out Wild Music. It covers the science of music (like how the ear processes sound, how the structure of a bird's larynx differs from a human and how that affects the music they make), and also looks at how music is found in nature and how nature sounds inspire human musicians. Lots to read about and lots to try out hands-on! (Adults will also probably enjoy the optical illusions exhibit.)

Not much maintenance inside but the kids absolutely love coming to the museum. Mostly physics exhibits.

  • 5/5 Coneydub C. 4 years ago on Google
My kids loved this little museum and all the fun experiments to try. They got to discover so many interesting sides of science that are often overlooked or taken for granted. When you really dig into some of the topics they cover here, the most simple and basic things can be amazing if presented right. I think the highlight of the place for the kids was the paper plane, helicopter and rocket building in the back.

I love this place! It's fascinating, fun, educational, and great for kids, parents, and grandparents. There is so much to do and I live that each display or play area has scientific explanations so you can understand what is happening ... besides pure fun! Definitely check out the scream booth and the shadow room, but give yourself lots of time to see--and play--with everything. And I'm not just referring to kids playing! This grandmother had just as much fun as my grandkids ... maybe more!

A wonderful place to take a kid. Borrow a relatives kid so you don't look out of place, I love it.

Heads up: THEY CHANGED THEIR HOURS! Super, super disappointed that they pushed their opening time back from 10 am to 11 am! This was pretty much the only place for morning outings (especially on Sundays!)....so....thanks for ruining that, Scienceworks. We will come her significantly less bc of the change. That said, this place is fun. I took off a star bc the time change is sincerely a bummer. They have rotating exhibits which are hit & miss. The constant exhibits are solid- my kid especially likes the toddler room.

Not worth the drive unfortunately. A lot of the exhibits are not working the bubble room isn’t here anymore definitely not what my kids hoped for.

Great spot for my 2 and 4 year olds, rain rolled in great place to play, and experiment for the kids. Staff were pleasant, and interactive with kids.

We like to drop into science works when we have time. The bubble room is our favorite. Great place to bring kids and let them explore and touch things.

Lovely science museum! We are ATSC members and have visited several kid's museums across the US. We see a lot of the same exhibits, but this museum had a lot of unique ones we hadn't seen before. The signage on HOW and WHY things work was excellent! We weren't confused about any of it. The place was astoundingly clean (especially considering a large field trip group left as we were arriving). The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and there was a perfect gift shop near the exit. The only thing that could be better was outside signage. It took more effort finding it than it should have, but I would highly recommend the experiencing for discoverers of all ages!

We went around 3:30 to 4 pm (they closed at 5) and it was fairly empty. This was great for the kids we had in our group, as it allowed them time to experience the different displays at their own pace. I think some of the mechanical displays were out of service, but my 8 year old absolutely loved what was still available. I couldn't help but think that some of the displays were perfectly meant for hyper-brain kids, since it slows them down enough to stop and focus, while not being too difficult to play with. Much love to the person at the front desk, they were very kind, informative, and patient!

Both my children are autistic and ADHD they had an absolute blast here the staff was friendly and charismatic we spent three hours they had a great amount of exhibits but my son's favorites were the space ship and the rocket launcher it was nice to be able to let my son's freely explore without them getting in trouble for being to loud we will be back I have lived here 6 years and didn't realize what a great place this is ... This place is worth the money and the time to check out with your kids it's a mini omsi museum

We had a subscription to the ScienceWorks Museum in Ashland as our son was growing up. It's a wonderful place with lots of things they (and we) can do. It is a learning environment steeped in enjoyment. Kids have fun learning while doing what appears play. Great place to go for a few hours or a whole day. Set in beautiful Ashland, OR. Check it out.

My boyfriend and I came out here from Sacramento CA for a family wedding and decided to take his daughter here to kill some time. Not only is this place cute and adventurous for kids, the staff was fantastic! One of the lovely front desk helpers told us about some great places to check out while we're in town. Loved it, so far everything has been fantastic about this beautiful town!

What a great place this is. Many, many hands on displays where you can experiance the effects of wind, sound, electricity, visual phenomena, and play areas that are just plain fun. Great place for kids and adults alike. You can spend hours here!

I would give Scienceworks 4.5+! The kids LOVE it and the exhibits are set up to allow parents to interact and have fun too. This is a place everyone needs to try at least once.

I just had the most amazing time at ScienceWorks for my son’s school field trip. The staff was amazing and incredibly patient and encouraging with the kids. The whole experience was centered around them, it was so nice to just let all the kids explore and think freely.

I love taking my son here! For a small town, this is a nice museum. Simple, yet friendly staff and I always see children ranging from 1-12 running around happily...However, within the last two months, one of the toddler stations have been broken, a little sad that it’s still not fixed yet. We have come at least twice and it hasn’t been fixed. The water station is one of my toddlers favorite stations. Hope it gets fixed soon!

Brought the kids here 2 years ago and had a great time. I even enjoyed checking out the exhibits and may have had more fun than the kids. This visit was a bit of a let down due to the number of exhibits that were completely broken, in disrepair or longer available.

  • 5/5 Steven W. 6 years ago on Google
My kids love all the hands on fun.

  • 3/5 Kory E. 4 years ago on Google
We went to spend some time with our family. Cost us 68 dollars to get in and half the exhibits were either broken or in disrepair. Felt the price was too steep for the small amount of activities they had to offer. We live local but will not be going back. Would be in your better interest to drive 5 hours to OMSI in Portland.
