Good food but service was not good. I got the Jewish Sailor. The meats were very tender, the sausage was super juicy and the Cole slaw was nice and creamy (not sweet). The fries are terrific. Unfortunately, after my food was brought to the table no one checked on me until it was time for the check. Overall I would return because the food was great.

As if Perly's needs any more kudos? I happened upon the restaurant randomly... with no clue that its pedigree is so renowned. You know what that means? With no preconceptions, I believe my review is all the more objective... And so, from the moment I walked in, I was charmed by the decor. From there, the creative menu made it clear this wasn't "just another breakfast." I went with the corned beef hash w/ 2 eggs over easy... OH HELL YES! My main course was utterly divine, served with side greens and a piece of bread to help soak up the egg yolks... It was only after I had dined here and did a little research that I realized Perly's is a Richmond institution... well deserved. PS: Service was impeccable.

Amazing food and great service, well worth the wait! Came on Sunday noon, was able to get seated after waiting only 20 min (was told it would be a 40 min wait). Once we ordered, the food arrived pretty quickly. Great portions, after the Schlubby fries, Benny Goodman, and cinnamon babka french toast (my new favorite item), I felt full for the rest of the day. This place definitely deserves all the praise it gets.

I can now understand why there was a 45-minute wait for a table…the food is that good. The egg roll and the fries were excellent. The cabbage roll would have been perfect if the sauce were not as sweet (because of the raisins). The borscht was ok but not as successful as the other dishes…maybe better if served cold especially during summer. Many thanks to Claire for the excellent service and for sharing the story behind Perly’s.

Perly's is touted as a must visit place when visiting Richmond - all those people are right. Great deli, like pick this up and drop it in NYC and it fits perfectly. Weekday breakfast visit for us. Service was great, menu packed full of deli choices. The coffee is really good, local roaster provides the coffee. I ordered the cinnamon babka French toast and let me tell you it's some portion (pictured). Delicious! My wife went basic bagel lox cream cheese which were excellent as well. I love the decor and the booths. Most definitely worth the effort to seek this place out.

Perly's was incredibly busy which I think is the norm. Multiple people waiting outside on the sidewalk is common. The diner is vintage with the tables/booths very close together. We were lucky to sit at the counter. Great fun to see the action along the counter. The food is very good although I think the Jewbano is good, but a little excessive so if you have a tendency for heartburn, you should consider something else. Next time a bagel platter is definitely on tap. Service was great! Will be back to try other items on the menu!

Amazing. Perly's is the best brunch/lunch restaurant in Richmond. The sandwiches are great. The portion sizes are huge. I thought I knew what a pirogge was until I ate here. Now I know and knowing is so so goooood. Admittedly, I still don't know how to spell pirogge.

I absolutely love Pearly’s. The wooden booths and music make for an incredible atmosphere. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The loaded fries were so delicious I cried when I took my first couple bites and I cannot recommend the matzoh ball soup enough! pro tip: Don’t forget to snag a black and white cookie on your way out!

Pearlys is always packed and there is often a wait but for good reason. The food here is phenomenal and a Jewish deli is a bit of a rare find around here. I had the potato and duck pierogis, Oy Vey! (pastrami and corned beef sandwich), bagel with fish, and a Bloody Mary. Try to get there as early as you can and bring an appetite because the portions are quite large. I'll definitely be a regular here.

This place was cool! Long wait (like all Richmond brunch) and somewhat slow service, but very kind staff. Good vibes all around! I enjoyed the brunch options, only a few "typical" breakfast items. I had the Benny Goodman, like Eggs Benedict but on latkes with smoked salmon. Prices are reasonable. Would come back!

If you want smoked fish and a bagel, this is the place to go while in Richmond. The portions are generous, the service was quick, and the food was delicious. We went on a weekday for breakfast and did not have to wait for a table. I understand that on weekends, the wait can be long because of the restaurants popularity. I also very much enjoyed the cheesecake. It's better than and more reasonably priced that Cheesecake Factory.

The staff is friendly and the food was great. Fresh and tasty. Would definitely eat here again. The wait was long, so I'd call ahead. I got the schnitzel and potato salad. Loved it! They also have stevia for your drip coffee which I appreciate.

Visited Richmond just so we could come here after seeing it on Diner's, Drive-ins, and Dives and we were not disappointed! Service was very friendly and quick despite the constant rush of people. Ordered several appetizers just to try as many things as possible and all of them were great. The Jewish egg rolls in particular were incredible.

The perfect stop for breakfast during our road trip. We got there’s 15 minutes before open and there was a line up waiting to get in. This place was so fast with the turn around, we had food almost instantly after ordering. Had the Benny Goodman and the chocolate babka French toast, which was probably the best French toasts I’ve ever had. Highly recommend

Fantastic. We somehow happened upon an episode of diners drive ins and dives the first night we got to Richmond. We tuned in halfway through the episode and were drawn in by the duck perogies on screen. We got incredibly lucky and realized not only was this restaurant in Richmond but it was less than half a mile from our hotel. They were out of the perogies when we came, which was a bummer, but we'll be back to try! The service was friendly and quick and the food was fantastic. Everything we tried was amazing. The Benny Goodman was crispy and flavorful and exceeded my already high expectations. The egg rolls were unreal! And the sauces were delicious as well. We loved it and will be back soon to try more of the menu

Everything was absolutely delicious! The food was so good and the service was great! Wish we could've tried their sandwiches, but we were only in town for the night. Definitely will be back when we visit! Highly recommend checking this out!

Every time I eat here, I eat too much because it's too delicious. Authentic, fresh, and family-friendly. I'd feel comfortable taking my grandma for a birthday meal, or choosing Perly's as a brunch spot with my goofball friends. A welcoming (but very busy!) atmosphere, and so many tasty dish choices you'll know after one visit that it's the first of many trips.

Wow this place is a gem! Everything was very delicious and fresh. We didn’t realize portions are so huge and ordered way too much food. Service was great!

Great Jewish food and appetizers. The potato latkes are particularly great, and the chicken schnitzel sandwich was perfect. The reuben was a bit too heavy on the corned beef so the sauerkraut and dressing got lost unfortunately. Our waiter was kind, but hard to pin down when we needed our check and more napkins. We were told it would be a 45+ minute wait, but it ended up only being 20 before we were seated which was a good surprise.

Perly's is a beloved restaurant in Richmond, Virginia, that has been serving up classic Jewish and New York-style deli cuisine for more than 50 years. From the moment you step inside, you'll feel the warmth and history of the place, with its old-school decor, vintage photos, and friendly staff. The menu at Perly's is a tribute to traditional Jewish cooking, with dishes like matzo ball soup, corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, and latkes. But the restaurant also offers more contemporary options, like avocado toast, vegan bowls, and loaded bagels. One of the standout features of Perly's is the quality of their ingredients. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced and organic produce, as well as humanely raised meats and poultry. This commitment to quality shines through in the taste of the food, which is always fresh and flavorful. Another thing that sets Perly's apart is the sense of community that permeates the restaurant. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you'll be treated like family by the welcoming staff and friendly patrons. It's the kind of place where you can linger over a meal and chat with your neighbors, or just pop in for a quick nosh on your lunch break. In short, Perly's is a true gem in the Richmond dining scene. Whether you're a lover of classic deli fare or just looking for a friendly spot to grab a bite, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Great food! My husband got the Ruben, which he really liked and the everything bagel rim on his bloody Mary was the best I've ever had (salty/garlicy). I have the Benny Goodman, the smoked salmon and dill hollandaise were the best part of it! Fries were crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Would recommend!

Busy little green but worth the wait! Opted for take out, still sooooo good! Best Reuben, fruits are excellent, Jewish sailor loves by my sister, borscht. Good. Need to go!

Waited 45 minutes for seats on a Sunday and it was absolutely worth it. I could easily spend hours here talking and drinking coffee. The service at the bar was so friendly and attentive. Had a great sandwich. The corned beef and hash wasn’t a hit, but the sides and mimosas made up for it.

Great good! Get here early to get a spot. They opened at 9am and there was already a line at 830. We opted for mimosas and a bloody mary. The house made pickles really made the drink! For breakfast, we had Benny Goodman, Cinnamon Babka French Toast, and Bagel with Fish. All were phenomenal. The everything bagel with chive cream cheese was delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Will visit again. Don't forget to grab a black and white cookie or two to-go!

Perlys can get very busy on the weekends! And it’s a fairly small restaurant so the wait might be awhile. Most all the food was great quality and made fresh. The Reuben was not as good as I was expecting but I’m willing to give it another chance. The staff was very nice and made sure we left happy.

Probably the best restaurant we visited while in RVA! I thought the best Jewish Diners were all in NYC and Perly’s totally proved me wrong! Jumbo Mimosas to start while we waited and then we got so much!! The Blintz was savory and equally sweet and the crepe done to perfection. The French toast made with Babka is to die for. The Benny Goodman is by far TOP 3 Eggs Benny dishes I’ve ever had!! We even tried the livers which were balanced and mouth watering. Every time I’m in Richmond, I’m coming to Perly’s and you should too

The food was amazing! This was my first trip to Perly's. There was a small crowd waiting to be seated outside, so wait times can be a bit long. But it is so worth it. I had the Benny Goodman and the salmon was perfectly smoked. Not too aggressive like so many other places that over-smoke theirs. The pickled onions in the side salad were perfect! Sweet, but not too sweet. It might have been my favorite part of the meal! Service was also great, even being as busy as they were. I would definitely visit again!
