To Whom it may concern, My wife and I worked in the bar for every opera that was held in July 2022. Now, it's August 13, 2022, and we still haven't been paid. We hosted opera guests, donors, and much of the cast. We are all aware of what's going on with Patrick saying that he hasn't been paid and Pamela saying Patrick owes $26,000. I am sure that all the opera cast have been paid. I am aware that my wife and I were hired by Patrick and should be paid by Patrick. I am shocked that the governing body of the opera would let this issue fly by with the simple belief that this is Patrick's problem. It's obvious Patrick doesn't have the money to pay us. It's a fact that we weren't paid. Also, it's a fact that the opera generates most of its revenue from donations and the opera could pay two individuals that worked hard for them. Its a shame that adults could watch this foolishness go on and not have something done about it. Today, everyone was enjoying Madam Lou Bunch Day and everyone knew of the situation and nobody had the heart to offer us a drink or maybe a bite to eat( I made it very clear that we are completely broke until someone pays us) Nobody, in their right mind should be ok with this. This is my last semester in college and this experience has taught me a valuable lesson. I will strive for the rest of my career to never let someone that has worked not get paid. In my opinion nobody with any class or decency as a human would be ok with this. I have reached out to Tom Martino for help with this situation. I am in the process of contacting each and every donor from "name a fund" to "general endowment fund"! I believe Tom Martino's interns are helping with that. Overall, I am disappointed with the lack of care and professionalism exhibited by the Central City Opera. I hope that the governing body feels good about themselves and that maybe this will teach all of us a lesson. I have never been in a position of hopelessness where my peers had no concern whatsoever of my wellbeing. I cant wait for this to conclude! Free Labor, Michael & Leighann Craig

I was treated to a lovely performance of Fledermaus this afternoon. Fledermaus featured a young cast, but voices were rich, expressive, virtuosic, and big. Acting was melodramatic, appropriate to the comical story. Staging was imaginative fun with bits of original writing that reflected current events in our nation. It's been 20 years since my last visit to Central City Opera House, but I'm planning to become a regular customer. My balcony ticket cost $134, a steal in that I could see everything and hear everything. And I mean REALLY hear everything. I decided to make a mid-week "weekend" out of my trip from Denver, so I stayed at the Century Hotel and Casino, where rooms are well-appointed and spacious, across the street and down the block from the opera house. The crowd at Central City Opera House is friendly. I'm an old timer, and I participated in several conversations other old timers. I was traveling solo, but I never felt lonely. It was so nice. Bottled water is allowed at your seat. It's high-altitude Colorado. Stay hydrated!

The city have lot to give .but have also lot to hid.the histry if this place is very interesting .the mountains says it all.the buildings present a high level of architectural combination of the bright and quute.the city today gives a very oeaceful atmospheric space with lot of joy and intertainment.its like you are somewhere in colorado mountains where you see the black hok flys arount central city .thus only you see it at the Rockys even after spring .

The historic Central City Opera House just ended another season. What an amazing place. In honor of our 40th wedding anniversary, my husband and I subscribed to the season this year and we saw three operas: Romeo and Juliet, Otello and Kiss Me Kate. Otello was phenomenal! Otello featured four male tenors each one distinct from the next. Otello was sung by a world-class opera singer, who had the most exquisite voice I’ve ever heard. If you’ve never been to Central City Opera, you should go at least once. They offer both matinees and evening performances at their beautiful jewel box theater in Central City, Colorado. Although the opera is performed in its original language, for example, Italian, above the marquee is a screen with English version of the lyrics. It’s a magical experience when they offer free performance talks, given by the Director or the Assistant Director, which enriched the experience.

We love the Central City Opera. The opera house is historic. It is also smaller than modern opera houses so the viewing experience of the performances is much more intimate and therefore much more enjoyable.

Wonderful and talented performers. Cozy and charming venue. Authentic to its age. No on-site bar and bathrooms are in an adjoining building. Go before the show.

We got to meet the owners and explore the opera house. The owners are great and we are looking forward to their shows that are happening in July.

CLOSED ON MONDAYS! What a shame. Look closely in the photo to see the brass rail around the famous Face on the Barroom Floor. Hadn't been here since 1959.

Fabulous show. The acoustics in the opera house are still fantastic after all these years and the performers and musicians are always great!!

Didn't get to go in as it was closed. Someday I would like to come back and see something here. I wanted to get a shot of the exterior because of the novel On the Road by Jack Kerouac and we we're in the area.

This was one of the most amazing places I've ever been and not a bad seat in the house!! The shows this summer were the most incredibly professional shows ever and I highly recommend this Opera House and events to any and all!

I visited Central City as a kid. I didn't go back for the casinos though. The information center and the old court building made the trip worthwhile. I do wish it was more like my memories from my childhood. Still, it is a lovely place.

Old west town still looks authentic. It's a beautiful casino on the first floor, kids arcade on the second and a restaurant on the third. Other buildings are only casinos and maybe two restaurants. I love coming here once a month. Higher elevation than Denver, you could be out of breath walking about four inclined blocks of this town.
