This
restaurant
in
Freeport
was
highly
recommended
by
my
local
Maine
colleague
and
it
didn't
disappoint.
We
went
there
for
both
dinner
and
lunch,
the
following
day.
This
Bistro
is
well
decorated
in
a
tavern
style.
The
service
was
prompt,
friendly,
knowledgeable
and
very
welcoming.
The
food
was
as
yummy
and
flavorful,
as
it
was
very
well
presented
and
portioned.
Mussels
-
yuuummmy
-
extremely
fresh,
plump,
with
the
sauce
that
really
pleased
the
palate
with
its
rich
flavor
of
fresh
cherry
tomatoes,
garlic
and
herbs,
married
well
with
Madeira
wine
-
just
amazing!
They
were
served
with
Polenta
fritters
that
were
crispy
outside
and
soft
inside
and
complemented
the
dish
very
well.
We
liked
them
so
much
that
we
ordered
them
as
a
side
on
the
following
day.
Pizzas
-
we
had
the
Farmhouse
veggie
pizza
with
chunks
of
grilled
chicken
during
our
first
visit
and
Funghi(mushroom)
-
with
rich
truffle
Alfredo
base(!)
and
a
mushroom
medley
-
during
the
lunch
on
the
following
day.
Both
were
just
perfect!
The
crust
seemed
a
bit
thicker
and
chewier
than
we
usually
like,
but
it
was
delicious.
We
also
had
Shrimp,
Asparagus
and
Sun
Dried
Tomatoes
tagliatelle
-
it
was
delicious,
the
shrimp
was
large
and
very
juicy,
the
pasta
-
cooked
perfectly
al
dente,
with
the
very
flavorful,
a
bit
tangy
sauce.
The
baked
soft
foccacia
was
very
good
-
it
was
served
on
the
wooden
board
with
3
spreads/dips.
I
would
also
like
to
mention
the
coffee
-
the
double
espresso
macchiatto
was
as
perfect
as
it
gets.
The
wine
and
beer
selection
was
very
appropriate,
too.
Grazie
Mille!
