I
had
the
chance
to
live
and
work
in
Kodiak
for
six
months.
Fort
Abercrombie
was
on
of
the
first
places
I
went
hiking
and
it
quickly
became
one
of
my
favorite
places
in
the
world,
so
far.
There’s
amazing
tidepooling
(I
got
to
see
octopuses
a
couple
different
times,
as
well
as
a
couple
different
kinds
of
nudibranches,
sea
stars
and
anemones).
The
trails
are
beautiful
and
varied,
with
moss-draped
trees,
Lake
Gertrude,
ocean
vistas,
a
wide
variety
of
wildflowers
Spring
through
summer,
blueberries
and
salmon
berries
in
the
summer,
an
abundance
of
fungi
in
late
summer.
It’s
a
popular
place
but
I
never
felt
crowded
there.
