If
going
to
Palo
Duro
Canyon
or
have
limited
time
(at
least
2
hours)
than
you
need
to
include
Palo
Duro
Riding
Stables
to
your
list
of
activities.
It
was
so
much
more
than
I
expected
for
a
trail
ride.
It
wasn't
a
typical
trail
ride.
The
views
were
amazing.
The
horses
are
well
kept
and
cared
for.
The
owners
were
easy
to
talk
to
and
went
out
of
their
way
to
make
it
a
great
experience.
It's
a
really
great
operation.
The
horses:
They
have
several
rescue
horses
in
the
mix.
They
take
the
time
(sometimes
years)
to
work
with
them
and
get
them
to
trust
again
before
they
are
added
to
the
working
group.
At
least
once
a
week
the
herd
is
allowed
to
run
freely
in
the
canyon
on
their
property.
They
know
their
horses
and
their
personalities.
You
can
see
they
are
well
cared
for.
They
pair
you
up
with
a
horse
based
on
experience
level
and
possibly
personality.
We
were
beginner
level
and
horses
are
pretty
much
on
auto
pilot
with
a
few
directions
here
and
there.
The
trail
ride:
Absolutely
beautiful!
Took
so
many
photos.
It's
not
in
Palo
Duro
Park
but
just
outside
on
private
land.
The
trail
itself
goes
down
into
the
canyon
and
so
you
are
going
downhill
and
uphill.
The
guides
(owners)
space
themselves
through
the
group.
At
the
bottom
they
take
a
group
photo
for
you.
They
have
saddle
pommel
bags
that
you
can
get
(no
charge)
to
store
water
bottles
and
phone
or
camera.
They
sit
on
the
pommel,
so
easily
accessible
while
riding.
An
SLR
may
fit,
but
could
be
tight
depending
on
how
big
it
is
and
how
particular
you
are
with
it's
handling.
They
will
give
you
instructions
on
how
to
handle
the
horse
before
the
ride.
There
are
areas
along
the
trail
with
brush,
so
definitely
recommend
long
pants.
With
kids:
We
have
2
kids
between
the
age
of
5
and
10.
They
got
their
own
horse
and
a
guide
that
watched
them
or
helped
them
if
their
horse
needed
a
nudge.
If
the
kids
didn't
need
help,
they
didn't
intervene
and
they
weren't
led
on
a
lead
like
I've
seen
on
other
trail
rides.
They
have
modified
stirrups
that
fit
the
kids
so
they
were
comfortable.
The
kids
are
still
talking
about
the
ride
and
how
it
was
soooo
easy
and
great
riders
they
are
and
when
are
we
going
there
again...
so
the
kids
will
love
it
and
an
unexpected
confidence
boost.
Communication:
They
may
not
answer
the
phone
when
you
call
as
the
owners
are
the
guides
and
taking
people
out.
Leave
a
message
or
text
and
they
will
respond
later
that
day
when
they
are
available
or
the
next.
It
is
recommended
to
call
a
week
or
more
out
to
schedule.
It's
likely
you
will
not
get
a
same
day
spot,
but
can
always
try.
I
apparently
have
a
lot
of
things
to
say,
and
still
haven't
said
it
all.
Highly
recommend.
