Even if you think you don't like sushi, try this place and I promise you, you'll change your mind. We stopped I'm for lunch one day and I love the lunch menu as you can literally get full and ball on a budget. It's kid friendly and they even have the trainer chop sticks for those that don't have it down pack. After trying it with the kids we went back for date night and enjoyed a boat of assorted sushi. The lobster roll was my favorite and the butterfly martini was delicious. Service was great, they had a great group of staff and although our waitress was the bar tender she really made sure we were taken care of. Reasonable prices, cute spot, and clean. Restrooms were fully stocked and smelled fresh although it was later evening. We had a blast with awesome convo with the people next to us and this spot has become a family favorite.

Good sushi place with lots of roll options. Kinda of tucked back in strip mall so it is easy to find a table. I would return.

Nice restaurant, with a nice decor’ , staff was friendly and attentive. Food came out fairly quickly and was spaced nicely from the soup/salad, to the entree’s, to the dessert. Food quality and taste was very good. Price was fair as compared with other similar restaurants. I won’t say it was necessarily a negative but they had a interesting choice of music playing .

Great little place but their sushi is not good. Would highly recommend going elsewhere if sushi is on your mind. We ordered over $100 in sushi alone and were very disappointed in the lack of flavor.

We placed a large order to go for 10 people and they completed it quickly and had it all packed to go in 35 minutes. There were many items on the menu for people who were vegetarian or who don’t eat raw fish. My son enjoyed his salmon teriyaki from the kids menu. Everything was packed was and labeled, no mistakes. The sushi rolls were all put together in a single box and a bit harder to separate out (for the vegetarians).

Great choice for a dinner date. I highly recommend the Korean tacos and steamed buns for an appetizer. I ordered the Ramen bowl and it was delicious. You will leave feeling full and happy.

Best Japanese food in Florida. Huge portions for teriyaki entree. Tiger roll sushi was perfect.

Went today. Service good and food awful. Having lived in Japan, this is not authentic Japanese food. This is also owned by a Korean. Better to find a restaurant owned by a person of the country whose food you are eating!

Very disappointed in the amount of miso soup I received with my to go order just now. I paid for the full $4.50 order of miso because I wanted a full serving of it. I think I might I have received the lunch portion, but that is not what I ordered. I also had two sushi rolls with my order that were lackluster. I waited a half hour for this three-item order to be fulfilled. Not worth the wait or the $26 I paid for the food+gratuity.

This is one of my favorite places to have lunch at. Very good sushi and bento boxes and excellent staff. I’ve been here probably over 50x, including yesterday.

The Sunomono appetizer was good. The Ikura & Tobiko sushi were really good. We also got 1 regular and 2 special rolls, they didn’t taste good. There was nothing wrong with them, but the flavor just wasn’t good.

We always enjoy dining here! The service is always friendly and the food is quick to come to the table! We have never been disappointed before. They have good meals for the kids and it's a nice ambiance. They also offer outdoor dining.

Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Sarasota! Got the chirashi and sashimi platter as well as some uni—everything was fresh and big portions. The service was also friendly! Would 100% recommend, they also have other bowls if sushi isn’t your thing.

I went around happy hour and so it was slightly less expensive. Even so, I'd say the pricing is about average for a restaurant like this. The atmosphere is nice and chill. There's outdoor seating as well and that can be really enjoyable when the weather permits it! They don't have quite as extensive a menu of sushi rolls as they used to but I had no trouble getting two rolls I really enjoyed. If you're not into raw fish, they've got you covered. I got a Siesta roll and I highly recommend it to anyone that's not wanting raw fish. The presentation was low key but still pretty as it should be. FWIW I prefer the Sarasota location to the UTC location. Not sure why, just like the vibe a little better.

I'm giving it 5 stars based on dining in. Lovely and fresh food, consistently great service, pretty little place even if it's in a mall. But whenever I order to take away, it's less spectacular. I'm more often than not ordering cold dishes so you can't say it's because the food got cold... :-) I think maybe they rush the takeaway orders a bit.

Pretty decent sushi place in Sarasota. Cool modern place and pleasureful atmosphere. Hamachi Chili appetizer was the best thing we ordered (A little pricy at $17). Ordered the Sushi and Sashimi combo - came with a California roll a lackluster choice. Sashimi/sushi was nicely cut and presented. Maki (rolls) were lacking some sophistication e.g. sauce or flavors to kick them up a notch. Way too much Masago (Fly Fish Egg) on top of the Rainbow Roll - it took away from the "Rainbow". A sushi place at this level of pricing should have real wasabi available. Was disappointed when asking if I could have Yellowtail cheek (Hamachi Kama) sashimi - "we don't do that" - waitress didn't not or offer to check with the chef. The busboys were hanging around the pass while customer's empty plates were stacking up on tables. Even still this place is the best sushi place I've been to so far in Sarasota County. Hoping to find a better place. Their photos shown here are better than what is served - though the food is much better than at Bushido Sushi and Fuji Sushi Hibachi Noodles in Venice. We did not order drinks and we spent about $100 plus tip. The rolls were priced right for quality and size, the sushi sashimi combo was a little high. The hostess and restaurant manager were friendly and nice. We would give them another try and we'd probably sit at the sushi bar to have direct interaction with the sushi chefs.

One of our favorite restaurants for dine in or take out! Very good sushi and the kids love the chicken katsu (which is not on the menu but they will make it upon request). I am loving the tuna pizza and all the rolls. Keep up the great work team Jpan!

Lots of unique sushi and wonderful staff and service. Regular entree items like terriyaki chicken or volcano chicken comes with plenty of protein and will be filling, but nothing special. Could use more flavor. Special dishes and appetizers here are outstanding. I recommend the wagyu beef served on a hot rock. Incredibly tender and marbled steak and perfect textured rice.

Jpan does a great job with sushi. We love the variety and the quality. The specialty rolls are all great. They provide a pleasant and relaxed environment with friendly, caring and knowledgeable servers. They also have a good "frequent flyer" customer reward points program. I have observed many people enjoying their hot dishes, but I can't tear myself away from the sushi! 😂
