It's a bed. Odd smell to the room when I first checked in but thankfully the windows do open so I aired out the room while I went to get supplies for the week. My room has a college size fridge with barely a freezer bin and a decent size microwave. So I can make microwave meals but no where to put frozen items. The bed was a little stiff. I am use to softer but this was okay. All in all it wasn't the worst military lodging I have stayed in and by far wasn't the worst hotel I have stayed in. For the price and location...the Naval Lodging at Norfolk was decent. My travel companions are spoiled so they are a little disappointed.

Let me start by saying that I don't think I can thank the staff enough. We checked in late on a Tuesday night. We hadn't booked anything in advance due to not knowing what our week was going to look like. We were able to get a room last minute. It was a smaller room with only one bed, but we took what we could get after driving 15 plus hours. We ended up having to extend our stay. The staff was more than accommodating. Kudos to the day time staff. Everyone we spoke to was super nice and professional. We ended up in a room with two beds and a kitchen! We've since had to extend our stay again. I spoke with Leo after coming back to the hotel after a long day. Leo was so kind. We were able to extend to the date we needed and we didn't have to change rooms! That really made our day. It definitely helped alleviate some stress. This has been an amazing stay. The hotel breakfast is great too. Just watch for expired breakfast food. The staff didn't seem to care too much. The employee said she would pull the item, but was in no hurry. Watched others grab the expired food. It wasn't just expired by a few days, it was almost one month. The rooms are very clean and modern, beds and pillows are comfortable. The fridge is a perfect size for a family. The bar is cute and convenient, perfect for having snacks/meals. The kitchen has granite counter tops and includes dishes, pots, pans, silverware, a toaster, microwave, can opener, coffee maker. Don't forget there's a mini nex on the 1st floor that's open until 2100. They have pretty much everything you need. Overall, one of the best hotels we've stayed at on Hampton Blvd. If you need anything, all you have to do is ask. The staff is always more than happy to help. TV went out one night. Maintenance replaced the TV the next morning. Quick response time. Pricing is more than reasonable too. We will be using this facility again in the future.

We've stayed there a couple of times, and the facility was pretty good. But we went by there today on the way to a ceremony and just needed a spot to change clothes because the traffic was horrible and we got backed up and stuck. But the gal working the front desk couldn't possibly have been less helpful. Nose all up in the air. Huge disappointment. Not looking out for sailors at all. EDIT. Changing my rating because one star wasn't fair. I'm not complaining because we had to use the bathroom, I'm complaining because the gal at the front desk wasn't trying to be helpful at all. Didn't owe us anything, just wasn't the least bit thoughtful about it. I asked nicely and she dismissed me. My wife was changing into her dress whites so that should could speak at a commissioning, help a sailor out.

The Navy Lodge should be renamed to the Pet Lodge, I have nothing against dogs and love them. When I come to a room I don’t want to see dog hairs from the previous stay, just about every room on my floor has pet signs on their door to let you know they have an animal in the room. It smells terrible in the hallway, I won’t ever stay here again because I do not recall it being like this

Housekeeping is great at their job but have their walkie talkies on full blast volume while people are still sleeping. If you have a floor below you, please don’t stomp around as you can hear footsteps and even the people next door to you talking through the walls. A lady named Raven at the front desk was disrespectful to my family when we were asking a simple question! I feel bad for my husband to have to continue to stay here as he is active duty. Everything else about the hotel is wonderful. Leo at the front desk is purely amazing.

I hate this place! We are a family of 4 who just PCSd from Germany. This is the ONLY furnished place we've been able to find that has a kitchen (if you want to call it that) and doesn't require a 3-month lease. We are essentially homeless, and knowing we may be here for up to 30 days waiting for HHG brings me to tears. I've used half a canister of Clorox wipes just trying to get red food splatter stains off the walls. Two of our towels were very dingy. There is mold in the bathroom and water stains and rust on the ceiling. There is no blackout curtain on the kitchen window, so the one in the sleeping area does nothing. The only laundry is down the hall, and we are required to pay. The bathroom sink area is carpeted, so there's no telling what kind of germs lurk there. I cannot believe we've served in the military for over 22 years and have to settle for a place like this during a PCS. I wouldn't even crash here for a night. (I have not interacted with the staff and am only commenting on the quality and cleanliness of the room.)

Clean rooms and pet friendly which is nice. Although the front desk shouldn’t have been as rude and unhelpful as they were. They’re professional at their job but definitely need some work with being more welcoming/friendly. Quiet and I didn’t see any bugs which is nice.

The hotel is ok. The issue is the Roads leading up to the hotel, giant POT holes that will destroy your vehicle. I saw no less than 3 vehicles with flats from the holes during my short stay. Be safe out there.

Navy lodge Norfolk is clean and accommodating. I rate the place one star only because of the odor. The entire hotel smells like a kennel. The rooms look clean but pet odor is unbearable. I've stayed at this location several times within the past few months. Each time I requested a pet free room.....yet each time my room reeked of animal odor. Please designate rooms for non-pet guests.

Way too much chlorine or water treatment used causing horrible reactions and congestion. Showers are nearly unusable as if you’re bathing in pool water and vapor. The complimentary breakfast was absolutely horrible with no hot food. Bagels were regularly stale and hard as a rock. Room was only cleaned once in 6 days.

The rooms are really clean and there being a mini nex inside of the hotel helps out a lot. The breakfast is decent, but the staff is hit or miss. Some moments there will be good staff and some moments the staff would be off.

PCS is a hard thing for families. "Mis D" changed our visit from bearable to an an unequivocal pleasure. Breakfast is not something you skip here, trust me. I have been around the world and all kinds of hotels, Airbnbs and never have I been greeted better than "Mis D" and her brilliant smile and attention to details, particularly in regards to kids. Not just my adorable 3 year old. All the staff are friendly and kind, but Mis D takes it to a whole new level. I wish you all the best!

This experience was far less than ideal and caused quite a few inconveniences and disruptions affecting the quality of my overall stay. I initially arrived and was newly in the area until locale change. I spent over a month here and the infractions were minimal. Once, housekeeping entered my room unannounced without stating they were in my room. I was having noonday prayer and it startled me, but the housekeeper told me I scared her. I feel that protocol was not integral and inconsiderate. Soon after I had to change rooms, for my room was given to another patron. While in a different room, I had a few of my belongings stolen out of my room while speaking with Sequarius at the front desk. I did admire the quality of service and pleasantries provided by the general store located near the lobby and by Natasha and Mrs. Cuffee. While handling ashes, Paige placed them in the window sill of the new room, however they were not properly secured. The disturbed ashes fell out of the window and spilled onto the floor. I had to acquire a vacuum cleaner from the front desk and cleanse the room. I was in shock and in disbelief. The lobby staff, Alexis, Leo and Paige were often rather unpleasant, rude, cold and inconsiderate. Their nonchalance and lethargic attitude made dealing with them extremely difficult. The quality of customer service rendered by them was unprofessional and daunting. I recall being treated as if I were not an authorized patron, and being told that I could go the Econo Lodge down the street if there were any further disturbances. I felt humiliated and discriminated upon. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone else seeking temporary quarters. Although, I am grateful for some of the time I spent there, the cleanliness of the rooms and the fresh coffee available during the mornings.

Friendly staff, clean building - grounds - rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of amenities, two separate small dog areas on property and a half mile from a dog park - just in case your pet needs to get some energy out. Highly recommend the Navy Lodge Norfolk! Also, say hi to Miss D if you get a chance. She was wonderful and helpful to our family! To the Navy Lodge Norfolk staff and Miss D, keep up the hard work and wonderful customer service!

Although my stay was brief in March 2023, I want to say that the housekeeping staff (Ms. Turner - supervisor) went above and beyond to locate my medical machine I left in the room. The fact that the item was still there 6 months later and not thrown out was remarkable. Ms. Turner and her team made an assertive effort to locate the machine and was willing to mail out but I had a local family member to retrieve the item. I really appreciate the housekeeping staff for not only making sure my room and stay was A-plus but also, for locating an item tucked away for 6-months. Thanks for everything.

    1. Water pressure is horrible 2. Elevators look and feel like they’re about to give way while riding them. 3. Room temperature is regulated by the base 4. Internet is really bad. 5. The 1 vending machine is down 6. Wish I could stay somewhere else

Checked into a room and saw black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Told the front desk and all they did was spray bleach on the ceiling. Slept in the room and both myself and my boyfriend felt sick and got headaches.

By far the worst lodge I've stayed at. Everything is broken from elevators to vending machines to washing machines, nothing works here. Front desk agents are pretty rude too.

Your confirmation email (and Google) may say "7811 Terminal blvd" but it's actually 7811 Hampton Blvd. Important for uber and door dash!!

BLUF: decent hotel. Not good for extended stay, but you may not have the option. Front desk: professional, but not friendly Housekeeping: luck of the draw. I've had great staff, and I've had those who do only the bare minimal. Wifi: might as well not exist with how slow it is Bed: comfy, fairly good sleep Bathroom: Standard as hotels go Cooking: Mini fridge (not the best) and a microwave Power: 2 outages so far (apx 4 hours each) over 3 weeks A/C: Works great Food nearby: Nothing too good. Location is industrial side of town. There is a NEX Mini Mart in the lobby. Small selection but well stocked.

*Stayed for leisure. Not the best hotel but I appreciate the option of utilizing the place. Needs some updates but it really isn't too bad. I am able to save money, be close to the beach, and have decent breakfast options. I love that this lodge is positioned where you do not have to travel through any security gates to get in. Free breakfast: decent options but are mostly microwavable foods, waffle maker, variety of liquids, pastries/bagels, cereal, strawberry and grape uncrustables!!! :) I think the breakfast is good enough to get you started and then you can find a nice restaurant to visit once you're ready to start your day. No complaints.

Stayed here over the weekend and everything was excellent. We are a family of 5 with 2 pups and we got the room with the little kitchen nook. The rooms look like they were updated recently, grantie counter tops, subway tiles in the little kitchen and LVP floorings - very impressed. The water pressure issue is accurate but I think an uncontrollable issue. Everything was clean. Excellent stay for a weekend get a way.

The staff was very pleasant. BUT... If you're staying here for vacation run the other way! We got into our room, and immediately had a globe from the bathroom light fall off and shatter. The maintenance man was great and showed up immediately. When I booked they put me in a handicap room. They asked if I needed it and I said no and they could give it to someone who did need it. Imagine my surprise when we showed up and we had been left in the handicap room. The shower was designed to sit down in, and you couldn't comfortably stand in it at all. While I'm thankful they have such a room for someone who needs it, don't give it to those who don't need it. The price is comparable to other area hotels , but this hotel is old...better yet ancient, outdated and a dive and not worth the stay. I would rather have paid to say elsewhere. Matter of fact we did. We had booked for multiple nights at this hotel, but chose to check out after the 1st night. The only reason I gave this rating a 1 star is because of the staff. The facility itself does not deserve a star at all. Other military hotels are gorgeous with excellent rooms and service. This is not. You couldn't pay me to stay here again!
