The Experience Was Awesome!!! I am BIG on Good Customer Service. The Customer Service was Excellent!!! The food was Excellent!!! The Atmosphere was Electric!!! City Cafe has dining inside the restaurant as well as an outdoor enclosed section. The restaurant was nice and clean, well lit and in case you are a sports fan, there are BIG SCREENS throughout the restaurant to keep you updated on various sports. The entrance to the restaurant offered easy access and there was plenty of parking available. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND dining at City Cafe!!! Thank me later.

We were referred to the City Cafe by a woman we met recently. The place is clean with plenty of seating and parking. The atmosphere is good and it is not overly loud. Love the jazz playing. The menu was fantastic. I ordered the half po boy and gumbo. Gumbo is the metric of a good restaurant for me, especially in Louisiana. The po boy was fried catfish and it was good. Let’s be real, it is kind of hard to mess up a po boy. The gumbo was outstanding. It had a nice spicy heat and the flavor screamed dark slow cooked roux. So many places scorch the roux and it does nothing for the flavor. I loved this gumbo. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were cooked the traditional way, not in a poaching cup and were cooked perfectly. The only glitch is that she had to ask for hollandaise. She said it was very good. Service was spectacular and the food was great. Don’t hesitate to visit this southern gem.

City Cafe is a hidden neighborhood spot. Not too far from Highway 12 and is a great spot for friends and family. Cozy and not too pricey.

Well, not many places can have great food with outstanding service with monster portions. The atmosphere of sports bar/ restaurant/ outdoor dining really set this place off! Food was fresh and creative with everything brought to the table right from the stove. Seafood was outstanding!

Passing through Baton Rouge and tried this place out. Everything we had was great!! The atmosphere and service were both top notch. I tried the 1/2 lb burger with bacon and mushrooms. It was on a very tasty sourdough bun and everything was fresh and great! The hamburger steak was delicious. The Blackened Chicken pasta was excellent. My friend Dave had the City Cafe Burger and he enjoyed it. Definitely try this place out!!

Great service. The seafood gumbo was good; the roast beef was okay. The po-boy bread was soft and fresh. The Mississippi Mud pie was great.

Enjoyed their brunch menu. We'll probably go here every Sunday after church.

Love this place with the service, and the gentle nature of this place. Showed up and got the 25 minute wait and 1 minute later, the hostess came and got us a table right away. Very busy Cafe with a bar and a spacious dining room. Our waitress got the orders and kept the drinks refilled at all times. The manager runs a tight shift and seems to have a good humor with his employees. The manager even helps with cleaning tables and picking up plates, which a manager to me does not do but this guy does. I had a roast beef po-boy with salad. The eggplant sticks were surprisingly delicious and pretty sure this is the best I ever had. If traveling on I-10 and driving through Baton Rouge, give this place a shot.

It was good, I just wasn't feeling it. Waitress was super nice. I didn't care for the string onion rings. I guess that is a personal choice. They were a little greasy. Nothing special about the corn and crab soup or the po boy. The sandwich needed more mayonnaise or sauce. My husband liked his salad but thought the house dressing was too powerful . I would go again. Maybe I missed something.

5 stars for sure. This place is awsome. I got a cup of seafood gumbo it was real great. My main dish was the fried shrimp with crawfish etouffee that was great to. I live nearby and never came to city cafe before. Im real glad I was able to bring my mother here as a early mothers day gift. The menu had stuff I wanna come back and try soon. Waitress was nice and attentive. Im a real happy customer.

We really wanted to like this place. Everything was very sweet. The nachos tasted like the cheese had sugar in it. Also, the southwest salad was very tasty but the dressing was sweet, strangely sweet. The shrimp and grits were swimming in butter or oil and several shrimp were not peeled. The plating is beautiful, I just wish the taste was as good.

Great food. Looks like a fun bar. Great service. Food can be a little salty and I wish the side salad was just a lil bigger. But I enjoyed the catfish atchafalaya a lot. Honey mustard house dressing with bacon in it was really nice!

If you're sleeping on City Cafe 's brunch you're missing out on the best brunch and mimosa deal in Baton Rouge. The food beats all other brunch spots by far, and the $15 bottle of champagne and two orange juices is a better overall deal than any of the bottomless mimosa options in town. Come drive out to this side of town and eat some good food!

Every thing on the menu looked sooo good. Really comfortable atmosphere, wonderful servers that delivered above and beyond customer service! Automatic refills and we didn’t have to ask for anything. The food was so delicious! It was definitely worth the stop and I’m hoping to return soon.

The food and service were incredible. We started with char grilled oysters and crab and corn bisque; both were excellent. Next we had the shrimp and grits and fried platter. Again, I can’t say enough how good everything tasted.

My family comes to this restaurant regularly. The food is consistently great - very flavorful! The staff is nice and the restaurant is clean. City Cafe will continue to be our go-to spot for good food.
