I really love this little Arboretum. There is a very large variety of trees and native plants. Most of the trees are labeled. Trails have been updated. Really nice place for families. I come here during all four seasons.

The Connecticut college arboretum is very pleasant and quiet. Easy walk and hiking boots are not needed. It can be a little muddy in spots. Parking is easy. Great place for bird watching. However, the most important thing to know is WEAR BUG SPRAY AND LOTS OF IT. I was slathered with Deep Woods Off from head to toe and I was still attacked by deer flies and mosquitoes. Did I mention you should wear bug spray? Not just any old spray. You need commercial grade deet and or protective clothing like burlap and mosquito netting.

A great oasis just at the junction of Conn College, New London and Waterford. Take a quiet stroll or picnic. Check to various tree species and possibly see some wildlife. Free to enter and spend a few minutes or the day. If you are lucky you will catch a Shakespearean play on the grass.

Beautiful, serene, nice place for a picture spot. That's why we chose this spot. There are just so many things to take beautiful pictures. It's not hard to find. Look for the sign. Nice area to just take a walk but not an easy walk for someone who has disabilities or is unstable. No railings, unevenground. You have to be extra careful. Definitely would have a difficult time. Someone would definitely have to come with me to attempt.

A great place for a walk. If you have an interest in the local flora, you will find the name plates for selective trees and plants useful. Don't forge to visit the lily pond.

Hidden Gem! Great place for a hike especially with kids! Don't forget to visit "Wolfie's house" as my kids call the house!

Beautiful, serene, quiet, hidden gem, etc. Lovely place for a walk, picnic, art session, deep life contemplating, and more. Beware of mosquitoes as you walk some of the trails close to the water. We try a different trail each time to find different features, birds, and types of plants.

Very surprised at what an incredible area to walk in a city. At times you would swear you were in the middle of nowhere. Many, trails well marked. Areas to picnic if you want. Easy trails well marked

Beautiful & serene. Well kept park of native plants. We were here to dedicate "Babbie's Grove," a lovely spot in the wildflower garden in memory of Elizabeth (Babs) Conant.

What a gorgeous place on this beautiful fall day! Only saw a small piece of the park, but will definitely be back to explore further!

A special place that will remain untouched by the evil corporate world that has permeated even the best preserved land. It is both beautiful and educational. Trees are named. Special areas are marked. Bridges are well built where needed to help keep the water clean. Unfortunately, something has affected the water in the last couple of years. It is not as pristine as it once was. As a result fewer and fewer animals are seen in the area. Still even the trails that have been added, that are not on the map, are readily walked. A truly beautiful piece of land. As a bonus, I have never met anything but polite dog walkers, while walking my own.

Amazing any time of year. Well maintained and a good place to walk the dog. Lots of plants and trees to look at and a large pond. Good hiking across gallows lane. There are large hills, cliffs, meadows and old ruins and house frames. Old abandoned cars hiding in places.

Absolutely stunning in the fall! There are so many beautiful trees to look at any time of year, but they are especially beautiful right now at different stages of turning colors. We also found a lot of mushrooms that were fascinating to look at, and loved learning about the different kinds of trees there. Highly recommend for a family walk or a place to picnic or read/study!
