Handel’s Messiah at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House was a delight! Thanks to the artists who sang and played the music and to the talented director Steven Seigart. If you missed it this year plan to be there next year for this new tradition. It stirred my testimony of Jesus Christ and increased my knowledge of Him. My new favorite stanza: Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, thy King cometh unto thee; He is the righteous Saviour, and He shall speak peace unto the heathen. (Zechariah 9:9-10) it was a pleasure to hear and see Suzanne Karpov Seigert sing this message of love to all women.

After 18 years of employment and having seen several generations of children grow in the church, the new management has decided to terminate my employment. The reason behind it was because I had to travel for medical care. Its very sad to see this church decline but a management like this has placed business before values. Farewell to all of the families I met through out the years, I have great memories, and much love for the children I was able to care for.

The Old Presbyterian Meeting House is a welcoming community of faith that is actively engaged in promoting social justice and helping its neighbors in need in the Alexandria area. It has been our church home and the center of our spiritual life for over 30 years!

I love the historic building and grounds, but it's the church community that's really great. Low key folks, but very supportive. Rocky's pastoring is full of warmth and every Thursday we host an Open Table breakfast for the community.

For historical perspective you can't beat this icon of American history and architecture. The organ is especially worth hearing when played by an accomplished organist. The organ is appropriate for the space. If there is any downside, it is the acoustics for recitals.of voice.

Truth be told, I stopped outside this church on a ghost tour. We we're careful to be quiet and respectful, as we could tell the church was holding a choir practice or meeting. It looks to be a beautiful place to worship.

Welcoming congregation. Focus on education, with adult, children and youth ed taking place between the services so everyone can attend both the service and adult ed. Age diverse.

OPMH made us feel at home in Old Town right away! From our first visit in 2015 attending their Wednesday adult classes with dinner and fellowship time included, to the adult and young children programming, to their annual retreats in Massanetta Springs, to their Taizé services. BVS school, and Christmas readings you name it! OPMH was key for our young family years lived in NoVa. We loved the community so much, that even while living in DC for the next couple years we would commute on Sunday mornings. I'd encourage anyone interested to review their website to learn about the many options to worship, serve and connect or just pop into one of their in-person events! OPMH has impressive online capabilities. This church is part of PCUSA, which brings me to the main area of opportunity I still see there, OPMH still has plenty of room to grow to become a Earth Care Congregation as for waste reduction, better recycling and on-site composting. OPMH could even become a drop-off site for local community decentralized composting! Overall, if you have children and ISO intergenerational meaningful fellowship, give OPMH a try, it will not disappoint you.

I had the incredible fortune to have been attending this wonderful congregation since my elementary school years in Sunday school. Some lessons are never forgotten and I can still hear the sermons and lessons from Rev William Randolph Sengel and Reverend Edna Banes in my memory. The fellowship from OPMH followed me through my young adulthood and I was also married at. OPMH. My father sang in the choir. Life kept changing and now I am living outside of Philadelphia, but no one walks alone in this wonderful and inspiring congregation!
