Had a wonderful time with the kids the first weekend of June 2022. Check-in process was seamless. Was given a map to Charge Pond site which was not needed. You should just follow road signs to get there. Bought firewood for $7 - they only take credit cards except Mastercard. The campsite was private. The bathrooms were fairly clean - save for bugs which are inevitable. Quiet times were not strictly enforced but generally was quiet after 10. Lots of fun activities to do like swimming, fishing, basketball, hiking.

A novice camper who found this place amazing. Right from selecting and booking online to the check in process, a feel of comfort. Having set the camp 🏕 in F27 near charge pond, took a stroll 🚶‍♀️ and saw almost all the sites occupied. Kids played at 🏖 while we relaxed on a good ☀️ day. .. then 🍗barbecue veg chicken and hot tea in the evening. Many sites are level and all have a fire ring or some sort. Bath house is clean and kept stocked with TP. Regular visits by rangers. They keep track of vehicles that comes in and out of their areas, which is a must. Fellow campers were mindful of others. Each site had fire pit, you can buy woods at the time of checkin $7. You can't add members after check in, So, if someone joining later, you should add them at the time of checkin.

Great hike with lots of elevation and terrain changes. If you leave the trail and walk down to some of the small ponds it adds some great views. Trail is fairly well marked but I'd recommend an app like AllTrails just in case.

Love to go to Fearing pond for the day! The water is nice and clear with a sandy bottom. There are picnic tables and grills that you can use. My grandsons also enjoy going there!

Updated review : 1/8/23 Much cooler today but plenty of people &animals out. Great to walk with the sun out. There are people that love going to the gym to "exercise "...not me. The park is free, go at your own pace, wear comfy clothes, bring your dog or as today's surprise was 2 ladies riding their horses. Now if you ride, the Reservation trail, 2.5 miles supposed to be an easy trail, riding this route is walking only. The photos will show that the trail goes super narrow (<18" wide) with no guard rails to keep you sliding down into the ponds. You have to be alert to the root stairs which could easily turn your mounts leg or cause them to trip. I haven't made it past post#6, so not sure if the trail has sections that are wider. Horses are definitely welcome, just watch their path presents as you walk along :) I can't believe I actually found a bench, a real one, although the fallen logs are a blessing too! Here's a great Girl Scout, Boy Scout project- put up some 2 or 3 seater benches closer together, I'm sure I'm not the only person to have wished for them to be added to the park. The real bench was between post#4-6. Great view. If you come to get in better shape, remember to bring a walking stick, I was lucky found 1 as I went thru the park, which helps on the inclines & then coming down again. The park changes every time I come. It's so relaxing & I've never been to a gym that did that!

Camped 6 days at charge pond loop E. The site was big with lots of shade. Only one bathroom shared with 59 sites. Bathrooms were gross and not cleaned enough. The shower drain and sink drain was backed up the last 2 days of our stay. One day there was heavy rain and people's tents and sites were FLOODED. Thankfully my site had a runoff and the pooling did not last long. Unfortunately my sister's site next to me did not have a run off and had about 6 inches of rain water right up to the zipper of her tent. DON'T camp here if there will be heavy rain, 90% of the sites flood. If you want to use the pond you have to walk there with everything, there is no parking available close to the pond and if you park outside of the pond entry where there seems to be plenty of space to park, you'll get a violation and your car could be potentially towed. We like the grills and pavilion available on the other side of the pond near loop A and B but there is NO PARKING. So if you have a lot of kids with a lot of stuff like chairs, cooler, toys, towels, blankets, I hope you're strong. The pond was beautiful.

We camped for five days in Yurt A and loved it! Site was spacious and yurt was great for the rain!! Bathrooms were quite clean and the campground around Barrets pond was quiet! Loved being a short walk from the pond! Would 100% return again!

Every summer my family and I enjoy camping. This place is very affordable for big family’s like my own. The kids enjoy it very much. If you don’t wish to camp the have ponds you can go for the day which the day pass is 8 bucks for mass people. They have bathroom with free showers when camping you can take your pets. I take are two dogs which one is a pug and Pitbull. The sites are all nice ferry pond and college ponds are great. July 4 gets so packed so we skip that day. Other then that’s kids enjoy fishing swimming going on paddle boats.

Fun, clean, and cheap! Sites are on top of each other, so it's not a middle of the woods feel, but if you are going with multiple families like we did, it's not too bad. They do not allow visitors and limit every site to 4 registered people with 2 vehicles. They are pet friendly and do NOT charge an extra fee! Clean showers and restrooms. Clean beach with clear fresh water pond.

One of Massachusetts best state forests. It’s clean, cheap fun. You can go on hikes and you can camp. You can also swim, good family outing.

At least the prices per night are reasonable. Place was a mess when we arrived, garbage everywhere. The evidence left suggested a 30th birthday party had happened recently at our site. Lost the ability to make a fire on day 2 of 4, apparently because of drought, even though day 1 and 2 provided torrential rains from thunderstorms. Ranger wasn't gone 10 minutes before the skies opened up, for hours. Bought 4 bundles of wood, used one, didn't waste my time trying to get a refund, because I know who I'm dealing with. Next time I'm going to try a new place. It'll cost more, but hopefully it'll be worth it. Only really came back because the little kids enjoyed it the first time.

Beautiful park with extremely helpful friendly staff that was always available. Frequent patrols of the sites make you feel secure about the area. We didn’t do much exploring but it looked like a super fun place for walking and biking trails and a few swim spots that didn’t look like gross mud holes. My only complaint is the outdated bathrooms that had the drains back up on our last night there but we easily went to the area next to us and used those facilities. Highly recommend especially if your coming to town for a festival.

Quiet well kept place, great spot for sun or shade in all of I loop at Fearing Pond. Sites lack grass and aren't all level, prepare to be dirty if you tent camp.

I don't like the fact that we pay for the site but can't have visitors. I also tried to stay an extra day (switching sites because the one I was in was taken) and headquarters wouldn't let me check in and switch to the other site at 1030 because "someone " owned it till 11(no one was there) but I still had to wait til 1 to check in because it's check in time. I was not told any of this by the reserve America employee on the phone they told me to check in any time.🤦‍♀️ I've been coming here my entire life. I love that it's familiar and clean. They just need to re think their rules.

Headquarters staff on yearly power trip and love to be able to tell someone they aren't allowed in the park regardless of your name and vehicle being registered even for a day trip and not spending the night in the park it has been a yearly occurrence there upon arriving at the desk they tell me that I am all set but my 5 yr old daughter who is a member of the household of 2 people on the site not just 1 so I think we have gotten to the point that our yearly camping trip will no longer be held at Myles Standish state park and also wanted to add that my canoe trailer was tampered with over night and some other camp goers had tried to steal the trailer we take the canoe down with so for all of the power tripping done there I think it's very odd that a middle of the night brazen attempted theft of a trailer wasn't too big of a deal for the park staff

Loved the hiking trails in this gorgeous pine tree filled park. There are several lakes and ponds you can meander around. Some paths are more travelled than others. Trails are well marked.
