Captain Daniel was awesome. He worked with us around the weather in early October to make sure that we had the best possible experience. He took us out to an island where we did some hiking and then came back and he cooked lobster for us on the shore. It was THE BEST lobster we had the entire week we were in Maine! We sailed back into the sunset and had beautiful views of lighthouses and got to see some other very cool sailing vessels (who all greeted us warmly). Captain Daniel was very informative throughout the sail about everything around the area. This sailing adventure was definitely the highlight of our trip and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a non-commercialized Maine experience.

My family and I sailed with Captain Daniel a few days ago and had a blast! He is genuine, knowledgeable, and above all a great host. We enjoyed great conversation all day, and were able to eat lunch on an island where he gave us a tour of his favorite spots. The Bufflehead is a fantastic sailboat as well! The wind was pretty strong coming from the northeast when we started out, and the boat had no trouble cutting through them. We had several folks who get motion sick, and none of them felt the slightest bit seasick! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip on the Bufflehead, and will definitely go out with Daniel again the next time we visit Rockland!

Great way to spend a day on the water and see a different aspect of the coast and islands of Maine. Daniel was a great host. It would be nice for water/soda to be provided. We did BOYB and that worked! This is an old but immaculate boat. It will tip/heel and the bathroom isn't glamorous. That's just how it is. Daniel handles that boat with the ultimate ease. He's clearly a pro.

We have sailed with Captain Daniel for the past 4 summers. Last year we brought our 5 year old granddaughter and her mom and dad. We planned this amazing treasure hunt and Daniel went out of his way to take our granddaughter on the most imaginative, amazing, pirate filled adventure! Captain Daniel is an amazing sailor, historian enchantor, and pirate! All this and a really beautiful human. 10/10 recommends!

My older brother had found the website for Bufflehead Sailing Charters while searching for sailing in Rockland during our vacation. Captain Daniel was very friendly and shared lots of history, knowledge, and great stories of the area as we were sailing. He also showed us good spots for photos and recommended amazing sightseeing spots and restaurants for us to visit during our trip. It was the first time I have been on a sailboat before and I had an awesome experience. We were out on the water for two hours and time seemed to fly by quick because we had so much fun!

Truly a stellar experience! Daniel is an experienced sailor and a gracious, personable host! I'm not sure what I enjoyed more - the incredible sights and sounds of being on the open water, or the welcoming hometown feel of Daniel's knowledgeable banter! I'm so happy to have had this experience!

We had an excellent trip. Captain Daniel and his crew were knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. My wife and I are both ladies of size and we did not feel uncomfortable on the boat. Though the trip to the head was a bit snug.

This was a superb tour... ,beautifully crafted, taking us through the long history of the Rockland. The accommodation was wonderful and the food/wine experiences truly memorable. Captain Dan is not only a fount of knowledge but a wonderful host and has a great sense of humor. We were so lucky and had a photographer Quinton. Dan and Quinton went to great lengths to provide us with experiences much beyond expectations and I cannot thank them enough.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our excursion with Captain Dan on the Bufflehead! He is a fount of information and is friendly and welcoming. The Bufflehead is a lovely vintage sailboat and we had a fantastic time despite some heavy fog rolling in. We look forward to sailing with Captain Dan (and his son) again in the future!

Capt Daniel is a very skilled mariner. That said, our sail was delayed because of mechanical problems and ended early to avoid pending weather. Knowing all of this before leaving the dock, it would have been prudent to have canceled the sail, or at the very least, offered a discount. The boat was showing her age. For the price of the sail, the cocktail hour should have been included. No COVID cleaning was observed, but was an added fee. I didn't bring this to your attention at the time as not to make my guests uncomfortable. Happy to discuss further. I respectfully disagree with the majority of your response.
