Good things in this park: 1. Mini train for kids 2. Multiple bathrooms 3. Lots of parking spaces Things not very well: 1. You have no way to walk around the lake one way. The dam blocks your way so you have to come back from exactly same road and you miss the other side of the lake. I do not think any good reason why they locked the path on top of the dam. 2. The bike and pedestrian share the same narrow road so it is kind of dangerous for pedestrian. I think these biking persons are nerves to avoid hitting the pedestrian.

Enjoyed the park on Saturday. The entry fee is 6$ per car, and there are annual passes options also available. The park is huge and if you can carry a bike here then it is a great place to ride a bike. Lots of routes are available for biking. Lake is very beautiful and can take a walk and pictures near Lake which is beautiful. We also clicked lots of fall pictures here as multiple colorful trees.

Attended Fantasy of Lights WALK THRU. What a great event for all ages. They were very organized. There are plenty of bathrooms, about 15 food trucks, many many outdoor heaters and lots of picnic tables for eating said food. It's 1.5 miles to walk the route. A DJ at the end playing holiday dance tunes. What a great tradition!

Great place for walking, jogging, biking, strolling, puddle boarding and other water activities. Parking in Los Gatos and taking the trail to vasona with my brand new baby is my favorite thing for now. There are a lot of dogs on leash, and a lot of ground squirrels, geese. So your dog can pull you a lot. Ours does! Park has a lot of tables for picnics, bbq.

It's a lovely place to walk along a gurgling creek, or on the newly paved bike and walking trail along the lake... If you like walking on asphalt, dodging bicycles, being sniffed by dogs, and being run over by kids on tricycles! And I don't mind any of that! I really like Vasona Lake and I keep going back every so often, especially when the local trails are wet and muddy!

Great place for families. Lots of parking and picnic tables (tons of bees though). I like that there are 3 separate places for kids to play: small toddler area, larger park area and a big "U.S. Air force" play plane that they can climb on. There's also a large grassy area for additional picnicking, sitting, playing a sport, etc. I also saw a lot of people walking and appearing out from behind hedges, so there might be trails. I'm not quite sure, though, because we stayed in the main park area during our visit.

A very nice park with amazing views, many hiking trails around the lake, picnic areas for day use, in addition to a marina for booting activities in the lake. Unfortunately swimming in the lake is not allowed currently due to algae in the water. But anyway it is an amazing place to relax and enjoy the day.

Found a parking spot so decided to come on down towards the lake. Took out a paddleboat ($25/hr) and had a great time. It's honestly an amazing park with many features. Great for fishing, riding bikes, having a bbq, etc. There is also a a train that you can ride on that goes around the park and back.

We went for the Festival of Lights walk through. Took the shuttle from Netflix, around 4pm. Getting in was easy. The lights were great. Food trucks had good variety. Was a little on the busy side, and waiting for the return buses took a bit longer than it should. Buses came in waves between 10 min, although there were clusters at one point. They were only loaded to about 80%

Beautiful lake. Beautiful creatures. Beautiful people. A true gem of a park. It's not the wild outdoors, it's a place to BBQ, go for a walk, ride your bike, go fishing, or just relax with a good book and a snack. It can get busy on the weekends and holidays, but often the park is mostly empty. There are restrooms, many picnic tables and BBQ areas, and a giant playground at "the busy side" of the large park. I like the quiet side.

Fantastic place to get your steps in and enjoy the scenic Lake Vasona in Los Gatos. During the day you’ll meet joggers, walkers, strollers, bicyclists of all ages. Pedestrian friendly with places to fill your water bottle and benches to enjoy watching the Canada Geese & Coots. Great place to bring your little ones with playground climbing structure (but no fence around so keep an eye out for them wandering off. Choochoo trains 🚂 and a fun adventure. Dining in downtown Los Gatos with plenty of choices.

Vasona Park is a park that I particularly enjoy and is conveniently located near my home. I make it a point to visit this park every other day for a walk. I find that the park is less busy during the weekdays, particularly on cold or rainy days. On weekends, there are usually many people visiting the park.

Beautiful park with ample parking, lots of picnic tables with good views. There is a boating club where one can rent a boat / kayak. I just have one complaint that it wasn't clean and there was lot of duck poop around.

We had a great time. Other than the glitchy system taking forever to make reservations. Only to show up the following week with no reservation. Having to pay twice for the paddle boat. It was a fun little family outing. We also enjoyed the Billy Jones tain ride, carousel and playgrounds. Glad we stumbled across this looking for a fun weekend activity just down the road 😀

Nice lake to take the children to play. Plenty of room off the path to play games and the overall view of the park is very nice. This is one of those parks where you rarely see any bad elements hanging out and up to no good like you would in other areas.

Too hot to take the boats in the summer. No shadow in the lake. The safe vest makes you even hotter. I do not recommend to go boarding in the summer. Other than that, the lake has beautiful view and lots of parking space, lots of tables for family picnic.

Even with the Cove in crisis going on, people are wearing Matt and social distancing while at the park. We went to a wonderful picnic table in the shade and had a snack. The park was full of Canadian geese and a colony of squirrels right in front of us at the top of the bushes on Constant Guard and loving are carrots. Everybody was very respectful and the park was so clean! I was very impressed how everyone pitches in to help make the park a fun place to go. They also rent out sail boats, kayaks, and paddle boats!!! When there is no there AR wonderful playgrounds for the children and a train that runs the length of the Park 4 the children to see.

My bf and I were out for an errand run and I told him that I needed fresh air. He went out of his way to drive to this park and my first impression as a non-California resident I was impressed by the scenery and space. There was a lot of people (Saturday afternoon) by the water and the main park entrance... I did like how there wasn't as much at the very back end of the park. I also noticed a lot of people/families not wearing their masks even like passing by othe people. That was the only thing that was sketchy. Other than that, I want to come back and do a picnic maybe earlier in the day when there is less people.

Love this place. The views are beautiful the trails well marked and the people are usually very nice. Yesterday, when I was walking with my mom we stopped to tell the Ranger that we saw some teenagers tearing down the netting around the playground area. The Ranger was super friendly and kind. I didnt get his name but was very impressed with him! Toward the end of our walk we witnessed a man on bike almost running into a little girl on her bike. The man was extremely rude and began cussing causing the little girl to cry. My mom and I stopped to talk to the little girl and her family. They were very nice and with some kind words we were able to get the girl to stop crying. When biking in a crowded public place remember to reduce speed ( if needed) and be kind. Overall still love Vasona!!!

My granddaughter wanted to go fishing I decided to go to Vasona Lake Park. It was lovely day, when we arrive I asked the ranger for a suggestion and gave me directions. We fished from the pier for awhile, but my granddaughter wanted to move to the shoreline, we found a shady spot close by. We did not catch any fish, but had nice lunch saw a big turtle, geese, ducks and various birds. We had a nice time.

I love how peaceful it is to walk around this park. You’re very much in tune with nature. My wife and I come here a lot to walk around, read a book by the lake, and there’s even a biking trail. People come here to fish, paddle on the lake, and see the ducks and geese flock together. The park is well-maintained.

Need to get out? Covid Quarantine Depression getting you down? I found the perfect place for you to escape to and odds are, if you're looking at this, it's in your own backyard. Spacious and green fields, plenty of room to social distance from others. Water sports available ($18 for single or a paddle board, $23 an hour for the peddle boats) on the quaint, calm, blue lake. Honestly, it is beautiful! Plenty of trails to walk, bike, hike, etc around the lake as well. There's a fair number of geese that will honk for food if you are having a picnic and they leave landmines here and there but hey, they're still avoidable and lay down a blanket on the grass and you're fine! While there are tables still available, for single household usage, the group areas are off limits at this time. Masks are encouraged but again there is so much space that you could isolate yourself somewhere and take yours off for a bit if you need the freedom of being maskless outdoors. Another "perk" during COVID is parking was free. Not sure if that's for always but it was today! That was really nice. With plenty of good restaurants doing takeout in nearby Los Gatos or Campbell, like Thai Spice or Back A Yard or, if you want to get fancy The Bywater (which you can then eat by the water... At the lake... In the park), it's easier than ever to enjoy a quick picnic in a scenic locale away from your home for a bit and off screens for once. Enjoy!
