I called Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove,Illinois in hopes of burying my cousin Diana next to her father. I spoke with Raul Rodriguez and explained my unusual situation. My cousin had passed away with no immediate family and no direction on her burial. I was fortunate to find her father was buried at Elmwood cemetery. After talking with Raul he immediately got to work on locating Diana’s father and began the process for her funeral.. There was additional paperwork and phone calls because she passed away in another state, was already cremated and she had a conservator who was also involved in this process. Raul took care of everything. He was compassionate and very patient. He explained everything to me in detail and helped me find the correct Urn to bury Diana. The day of the funeral Raul had everything ready. Raul stood with me as I read my Bible verse and said good bye. Raul exceeded my expectations and I am very grateful to him .He also gave me a tour of the grounds and the history of Elmwood. Thank you Raul for your kindness and all your efforts. My sister Tonja was laid to rest at Elmwood Mausoleum in 2017. We had the honor of meeting Don when my nephew Marzell passed in 2019. Marzell was also laid to rest in a mausoleum. My sisters and I purchased mausoleums in 2019. My mom’s body was exhumed after 24 years and placed in a mausoleum. Our father passed 8/15/23 and was laid to rest in the crypt with our mom. After meeting Don in 2019, we just fell in love with him. At a time of sorrow and grief, he was with us from beginning to end. He even called us days later and at least monthly to check on us. When we arrived at the crypts, he always is with us and stays until they are sealed. We love Elmwood and it is because of his awesome demeanor and the customer service that he provides. He represents the Elmwood brand very well. Melissa has also been very cordial. We trust Don with caring for our love ones. We maintain our relationship with Elmwood because of Don.

Elmwood Cemetery staff were excellent to work with. Everything was clearly explained and I was taken to the area I had pick as the final resting place for my love one. Very professional. Special thanks to Scott and David! Grace W.

At one of the most difficult times in my life, the staff at Elmwood seemed to care about me and my family. They were attentive and took care of our needs in a timely manner. Shout out to Mr. Wesley for his attentiveness! Such a kind young man.

We worked with Maribel Enriquez and she did a wonderful job assisting us with all the arrangements. We had a few special requests and Maribel was very gracious and accommodating. The day of the burial, she coordinated with our funeral director to make sure the burial ceremony went as planned. We have several family members laid to rest at Elmwood and have always been pleased with their services.

My parents passed away 6 months apart in 2023 and had bought their plots, for burial with the rest of my family, around 14 years ago. My sister had to view the plot and sign papers and was treated professionally and with compassion for our loss. The cemetery is kept clean and the roadways are in good shape. Two generations of my family on my Father’s side are buried at Elmwood Cemetery. My parents were always pleased with the cemetery and gravesites, as are my sisters and I. I highly recommend Elmwood Cemetery and you can know you will be treated appropriately when you buy plots and when it is a difficult time for you and your loved ones.

All our family members are buried at Elmwood. Highly recommend them, they go above and beyond during the difficult time of losing a loved one and we thank them.

Scott at Elmwood was amazing to say the least during such a sad time. The fact that he remembered our mother as she had just been there three months before and spoke kindly of her was a testament to the impression she had on others. He walked us through the process and answered all of our redundant questions with a smile. Although we have had the funeral we still have to complete everything for the stone.

Yes, Don and staff went above and beyond to help myself and family with setting burial arrangements and services for my dad. Being from out of town he assisted us with recommendations and transportation throughout the city. We were definitely greeted with southern hospitality which my family and I were truly grateful for.

Family Service Counselor, Raul Rodriquez, was quite spectacular and made every aspect of the arrangements easy and clear. We were making plans from Los Angeles, so having excellent communication with him was so important. He is wonderful to work with and because of him and his ground crew, my family and I were very happy with the way things worked out at Elmwood Cemetery.

Once we left the cemetery, we were saddened to leave our loved one in the dark. We had to fly back to NY and it weighed heavy on our minds.Our contact at Elmwood, Maribel Enriquez said she would be happy to put a lighted cross for us if we so chose to. As of the writing of this comment, she was preparing to place what we sent. This has meant the world to us because we feel like our Aunt Anna is not alone.

Sadly, we have four family members resting at Elmwood. In each experience we had a lot of help and support from the staff. They were professional and caring and really listened to our needs. Two of the funerals happened during Covid pandemic and they did their best to accommodate our needs and yet comply with health department guidelines. The grounds are well kept and very clean. They have also helped us with monuments and engravings and always met our timeline. You will always be taken care of in a very professional and caring manner.

I have been going to Elmwood since 1971. My Family is buried here and my burial plot is here too. My Father passed back in July of 2020 and Valerie, Honey, Carlos, Vicky and All the Staff have been their for our entire Family. They have been helpful, sweet and understanding and tolerant of our grieving process and religious customs and culture. This Memorial Day I was very Happy at the way there were flags on every soldier's grave. It made me Proud that Elmwood Cemetery, Valerie, Honey and the Entire Staff put flags on every soldier's grave. "Thank You" to everyone who made this possible. My father was a WWII Veteran and it touched my heart. I Highly Recommend Elmwood Cemetery . I also Highly Recommend The Staff and Grounds Staff for always going above and beyond.

“I came in last week to do a file review and didn’t have an appt and Vicky sat me down right away and was able to answer all my questions about graves that have been left to me. I dreaded coming into the office years back that’s why I just left these graves alone but it seems like the office is moving in the right direction. Keep it up cause this time I walked in all I saw were smiling and welcoming faces even under the masks”

David Truss was very interpersonal and very empathetic to my needs for my deceased mom. He explained to me that he had lost his mother a few years back, and he understood the pain and loss that I was experiencing which helped me so much because I had someone who knew what I was going through at the moment. He even asked me to see some pictures of my mom which was very kind. His heart was truly genuine. He explained the entire burial procedures, and suggested if I didn't have a plot that I could finance one next to my mother if I didn't already have one. As such, I am financing a plot next to my mother to be laid next to her when God calls me home. David is such a great consultant, I recommend his services to anyone. Thank you for helping me during this most difficult time in my life.

The staff was extremely professional and compassionate. The facility has always been clean and well kept.

Our representative, Scott, at the cemetery office was very helpful. He explained the plots available and how they were laid out. He then took us to the plots to show us how they were laid out.
