It was an okay experience. The food I ordered was extremely sweet and burnt, and not filling. My friend had a burger and said it was okay. She did enjoy the basil dip a lot though. The service was okay and the waiter was friendly. I don’t think I will return but I tried it because many people raved so much about it.

Nice atmosphere over the two levels of this establishment with a full-size bar and a variety of seats and tables nestled throughout. When we visited, the calamari had an interesting flavor but was incredibly salty--almost too salty to eat. My burger was fantastic and the charcuterie board my wife ordered was well-prepared and presented. The apple cobbler was terrific, as well. Would like to come back again.

Quite good for a gastro pub type restaurant. The food was very tasty, the prices were on spot and the service was on point. The only downside was the noise level which was a bit high upstairs (not crazy but still a bit hard to hear your party)

Honestly this place was a delightful surprise. From the outside and decor inside you would think this is a regular bar serving up typical bar food. But oh no, you would be wrong. The menu is comparable to any upscale (aka fancy) restaurant, and the chef cooked out meals perfectly. I got the seafood pasta - (that’s not the actual name but it’s the pasta with shrimp, lobster and veggies) and I cleaned my plate. My friends got the duck which looked amazing and based on her reviews she loved it too. Truly a wonderful culinary find.

Didn't eat breakfast and was starving but I still didn't want to finish the gumbo. It was extremely salty and unpalatable. I tried my friend's dish and it was a lot better.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. We did not have a reservation but were lucky and got seated right away on the upper level overlooking the bar. I do suggest reservations. The meal was top shelf! We started with the crab dip and didn't leave a speck. I had the veal shank and it was amazing! Michele had the sirloin and loved it! Do take the time to eat here if you're ever even close to Fredrick.

Highly recommend!! First time visitors & impressed with food & service! I made a reservation for our party of 9 to celebrate my daughter's 20th birthday. We were seated in a comfy "loft" semi-private section upstairs overlooking restaurant...perfect seating!! Tavern atmosphere as expected. Our waitress was very attentive, sweet & provided excellent service throughout our meal. Although everything was outstanding & the flavors created a party in my mouth, some of the dishes we had were the fried green tomatoes, crab dip, butter poached lobster with risotto, crab cakes, arugula salad, signature oyster & espresso martini. All dishes made with fresh ingredients & their house rolls are incredible! Must try this culinary treat located right in downtown Frederick (allow time to find parking). Excellent experience & birthday dinner!!

We stopped in for Sunday brunch - shared an entree, app, and then dessert. Everything was delicious, but we absolutely LOVED the Smores Bread Pudding dessert. Additionally, I'm from further south than MD and appreciate a good cup of sweet tea - our wonderful server, Matthew P, had the great solution of bringing me a glass of unsweet tea and some simple syrup. The perfect solution to unsweet tea! He had a great idea and great service throughout our outdoor visit. Would definitely recommend!

We tried the mussels starter- it was SO delicious. Very creamy and flavorful. Highly recommend! I got the seafood boil as my entree, and it was great. Plenty of food, and a completely different flavor than the mussels from the starte My husband got the souper grilled cheese and he said it was 10/10. He didn’t like the mushroom bisque as much, but we were sufficiently full by the time he got to it. I also got a nice cocktail, Flora French. It was light and tasty. The service was excellent and attentive, very friendly. A great experience. We will definitely come back!

Awesome ambiance. They offer an extensive list of drinks. Generally the food is great; this time around it was a little on the salty side, but the excellent service made up for it.

We have had drinks, apps and oysters here several times. I figured dinner would make a nice anniversary date for my wife and I. 7:00 on a Saturday. We started out with half a dozen of each of the 3 varieties of oysters as well as an additional 4 signature oysters. Nothing short of amazing. The crab dip was exactly what my wife was looking for. Next was the Chef's Board charcuterie. No complaints about the quality of anything presented but the most exciting flavor happening was the side of truffle honey. Also the Chef's choice to omit the foie gras mousse was a bit disappointing. My wife ordered the wagyu serloin. It was supposed to come with fingerling potatoes buy came with what looked like yucca instead. Whatever it was, it was cooked and seasoned appropriately. The beef was phenomenal and the port wine demi really elevated the whole thing. I ordered the braised short rib. The star of the plate was the Creamy polenta. The pork and jus were under seasoned and i really got no salt (except the polenta) or acid from the dish. I posted a picture and I can only assume the garnish on top of the polenta was my crispy baby kale. I got no crispness nor kale flavor. We would have asked our server about the potato substitute and the kale but she had disappeared. A second server delivered another Shirley Temple for my wife and the second server also soon delivered our entrees. Nobody checked on us for more than a half hour after the entrees had been delivered. We had time to eat, discuss getting desserts, pick out our desserts, continue waiting and then decide against waiting longer for desserts. We finally saw our original server almost 45 minutes since my wife ordered her drink and more than 30 minutes after entrees were delivered. The tables had also significantly cleared out just before our food was delivered. All of the service issues aside, the atmosphere is great. The quality of the ingredients was fine as well. Just a bit overpriced for what we got. The oysters were on the pricey side as well, but worth every dollar. We paid over $100 per person without drinks. Neither of us feel the level of service received reflects that price point. I was also expecting a little more of a flavor pop. We paid a premium price for a mediocre experience. We will be back for daytime oysters and drinks when family comes to visit.

We came in for the Monte Cristo Sandwich. It was as good as we had heard. We also ordered the hash which was a little greasy but tasty. I suggest making a reservation if you plan on eating here, it can get busy.

Excellent service, delicious and amazingly flavorful food. Every dish we ordered was cooked and seasoned to perfection. There were a lot of little details on many of the dishes that elevated the food. My only critique was how loud it was in the restaurant.

Incredible experience. Both entrees (lamb osso bucco and a steak dish) were cooked very well. Lamb was especially tender! Will definitely return again.

Decided to try out Firestone's Culinary Tavern for brunch. We have eaten dinner here before but this was the first time we have attended brunch. Making a reservation was easy. Using Resy we were able to book the 2 person reservation for 2 pm (they were booked until then) and had no issues beig seated when we arrived. Glad to see that restaurants are starting to fill up again. The restaurant is on two levels. A bar with some restaurant seating on the entry level and an upstairs balcony that had most of the restaurant seating. I love the neon sign on the left at the bar when you walk in - Good Food, Strong Drinks! Quite appropriate. Our waitress was Courtney and she was attentive and helpful in making suggestions, etc. I opted for coffee and Eggs Benedict (with extra Hollandaise sauce) with an additional fruit bowl side. We also had the Espresso Martini and Coop's Gumbo. The Eggs Benedict was very good and my wife enjoyed the Gumbo. She mentioned it has "a kick to it" (as it should!) and was made with homemade sausage and shrimp over jasmine rice. I really wanted to Strawberry Shortcake, but I was full. Overall a decent meal. Plenty of options for drinks ranging from cocktails, wine and beers. Enjoyed the food, loved the service and a nice atmosphere. Stop by and try it for yourself.

A friend of ours suggested that we meet at firestone's while we were in Frederick... My friend clearly knew the best place in town to eat. I had the rockfish My wife had crab cakes for appetizer I ordered the chef charcuterie board selection $50... And when we saw it on the website we thought it would be too expensive but worth every penny.

Everything was excellent. Food, staff and atmosphere! Oysters were one of the best I’ve ever had. Scallops were so delicious. I had rockfish and my husband had wagyu sirloin both of which were perfectly cooked and juicy. Last of all, we ate the best creme brûlée of all tume. Special thanks to the chef of the restaurant!! It was beyond our expectations.

Got invited out to dinner at Firestone. Very nice atmosphere. The Sangrias were great. Food was also very good. Will definitely be returning. Loved the meat and cheese tray appetizer.

My partner and I went in for an early dinner at 4:30, the atmosphere was wonderful and inviting. We were seated upstairs which was quaint and beautifully decorated. Our server immediately came over after we were seated, he was attentive and just an absolute joy. We ordered a starter and our entree’s after he brought us our beverages. We were surprised by a wonderful taste of mushroom bisque as well as an incredible taste of fruit sorbet. When our entree’s arrived the presentation was outstanding as well as the taste. We will definitely be visiting again.

I love Firestone's Culinary Tavern. I've been coming here for several years now, and I am always happy with the food, the service, and the vibes/digs. My go-to here is the Chef's Board. It is one of the best cheese & charcuterie boards I've ever had. It's my favorite in town, for sure. I get it pretty much every time I come here, and I often come here specifically for the chef board. The rest of their menu is spectacular, their wine selection is fantastic, and their staff are so friendly. The space is gorgeous, too - big floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light. I love coming here, and I WILL be back for another chef board soon!

Great place to come for brunch on a weekend in Frederick. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. The space is nicely decorated and kept the classic appearance on the inside. My wife had the eggs and hash, while I tried the sausage gravy. All of the food was tasty and the portions were generous.

Had a very nice date night with my wife and we couldn't have picked a better restaurant to try for our first time. Food was delicious, service was amazing, and we got a nice seat upstairs right along the window. We will definitely be going back!!

It has the best French toast in town! The crab dip is good as well. The female waiters and host greets should be more presentable in my opinion… a little be of makeup and a nice hair style would not hurt them.

Firestones has both fantastic food and service! We both really enjoyed our meals- the duck and steak. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It does get a little loud upstairs due to the bar below BUT the great food out weighs that small inconvenience. We will definitely be back!
