Tiny Japanese restaurant so it’s not good for big groups. You can get on the waitlist with the yelp app. Small parties of 2 got to sit faster. Food was very good and udon noodles are house made. They forgot our fried chicken appetizer but other than that, service was good and food came out fairly quick. I definitely recommend this place.

Overall: 4.7/5 (dine in) Came on a Saturday night and put our name down for 2 at 8:55 PM. They give you two options - shared table or your own table. We chose our own table and was seated about 10 minutes afterwards. Service was good and fast. Their food menu is a QR code but they gave us hard drink menus when we were seated. Yuzu Sorbet ($6): This was really good & refreshing. Small Eel Bowl ($9): The eel was really fresh so the husband loved it. Small Katsu Bowl ($8.50): They only give a few pieces of pork but they were thick and fatty. You mostly taste the fat juices but other than that, the sauce doesn't really add much flavor. 1 Piece Inari ($2.50): The inari skin is good but it's stuffed with a lot of rice. Comes with a side of picked sushi ginger too which is a good palette cleanser Chicken Tempura Curry Udon ($18.75) + Ajitama / Seasoned Egg ($1): Egg is not soft-boiled and they only gave one half so it's not worth it. We never had curry udon before so I was surprised at how freaking delicious it was! I drank all of the broth because it was that good! Their curry is not as thick as the curry for rice dishes and the flavors are a bit different. The curry has a lot of green onions and shredded tofu skins which were so good! They gave 3 big pieces of chicken tempura which were crispy on the outside and so juicy on the inside. I do recommend eating them first since the curry broth makes the batter soggy pretty quickly. The moment you try the udon, you can tell that it's fresh. It has the perfect texture and went so well with the broth. I will be raving about this for awhile now to my friends & family :)

I came on Saturday night around 6pm to put our name on the waitlist. There were 9 ppl ahead of us all parties of 2. It took 30 mins for us to be seated. We started with fried squid and assorted tempura, both were really good. I would order the squid again, it comes with a mayo sauce to dip. The tempura was nice but they included quarters of an onion which was odd to me, I didn't enjoy that piece. We ordered the shabu shabu udon which was very red making it spicy and delicious. We also ordered the mountain veggie udon, it had a variety of veggies that I really enjoyed. But compared to the shabu shabu it may be a little bland for others. Neither of the udons came with a poached egg, but was worth adding! The udon noodles were perfectly chewy. Service is fast and attentive. They are trying to turn tables over quick so they may take away your plates and bowls before you are done...don't be afraid to say you're still working on the food.

Cozy place for authentic Japanese Udon dishes. I tried the Tempura Udon (warm) and the Takuyaki. Both were very tasty with lots of flavor. Service was quick and very diligent to make sure you were doing okay. Definitely going to go back

Fair prices and really delicious food. Would recommend trying at least once when you're in the area. I would recommend doing the online waiting as there was a line even late into the night. The broth has they're each own distinct flavors and I feel you don't need to add anything extra into it. The mellow broth really grows on you as keep eating.

A really delicious Japanese restaurant. The food is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 5:15 before they opened for dinner at 5:30 and there was already a line. I loved how hot tea was an option as a drink. We ordered the Takoyaki and the Chicken Tempora Curry Udon. The portions of the udon were extremely large and filling. I recommend this place for sure!

Food was very good. Main wait is getting a table. Ordering food is pretty fast. Recommend the Chicken Karage, Soba, and Curry Udons. Definitely a top recommendation.

Always a pleasure to be seated here. The food and service are great. This time around I ordered the Shabu Shabu Udon, beef tongue, grilled squid, karaage, and the takoyaki. All of the dishes came out pretty quickly during the evening service and were delicious to eat. Update: outdoor seating has been discontinued. The service continues to satisfy and the dishes continue coming out delicious.

Meiji Seimen has always left a great impression each time I've been here. The staff is courteous, attentive, and always do their best to deliver great service. I always appreciate the good food and good vibes there. They have a lot of options as far as udon, soba, and toppings go, but I especially love that they have multiple levels of spice with the option to up size your bowl. The level 3 (out of 3) spice has plenty of kick and is still plenty flavorful, not just spicy to be spicy. Would definitely recommend them for both lunch and dinner service!

Was craving udon and decided to try this spot out. This is a small shop! Go on Yelp and join the wait list or else you’d be waiting for a good 30+ minutes. They don’t have a lot of seatings. When you are seated, they have a QR code to scan to see the menu. They do have posters all around for the most liked items to drinks and alcohols. I got a very simple just udon noodles with broth on its own. The noodles are very chewy and bouncy! Soup was very good. All udon broths seems to be different! Some are much stronger than the others! Ask the staffs if you have questions. They’re so nice! Parking: not an issue since it’s a plaza kind of spot.

The quality of this place will not disappoint. I got the curry katsu udon and the flavor of the soup was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. The noodles were also perfectly chewy. Can’t recommend this place enough. There will be a long wait though since the restaurant is smaller. My group of 4 waited one hour to be seated but the food is worth it.

I decided to try their lunch combo, which included the Sukiyaki Beef Curry bowl and the Egg Totoro & Mentai. Starting with the Sukiyaki Beef Curry bowl, I found it to be pretty good and flavorful. The curry had a nice balance of spices, and the beef was tender and well-cooked. Moving on to the Egg Totoro & Mentai udon, I found the noodles to be juicy and bouncy, which was a nice surprise. However, I wasn't a fan of the fish roe. It had a slimy texture and a fishy taste that I found overwhelming. I understand that some people enjoy mentai, but it just wasn't for me. This lunch combo wasn't even much cheaper than ordering the item by itself and the portion is smaller. And they charge for the highest spicy level, which is not even that spicy, lame 09 Fortunately, I was able to try my friend's shabu shabu udon, which was great. The soup was hot and savory, and the thin slices of meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection. It's no surprise that this dish is one of Meiji's signature offerings.

Great place for delicious udon or soba. Quick and attentive service. The shop is small though and not preferable for large parties beyond 4 people. Great gem.

30min before opening on sunday. There was no line. It was my first time here so i ordered what would be the most popular dish. Shabu shabu udon with mild spiciness. The beef and broth was great.

Absolute favorite restaurant. I get katsi curry every time. Just moved out of state and had Meiji Seimen for our last meal. Really going to miss this place.

the dashi was nice, but the noodles weren't really chewy for fresh noodles. big letdown. the shrimp tempura though was one of the best I've had. for the money, I'd rather go to the sanuki seiman mugimaru that's inside the mitsuwa food court

A "seimen" is a restaurant that makes their own noodles. People go there because the noodles are special. And that totally applies to this totally authentic Japanese restaurant. We had the katsu curry udon (fried pork cutlet in a curry soup with plenty of udon noodles) and the saba set (grilled mackerel with salad and miso soup). Both were excellent: very tasty and perfectly cooked. The only problem with this place is that it's very popular and the dining room is small. Which means long waits on weekends if you don't make a reservation (so, do it and then there's no problem, right?) Service is excellent and corteous. Food is served in a very reasonable time. Also reasonable are the prices. Highly recommended.

So excited to finally able to try Meiji Seimen and I cannot wait to come back. The service was prompt and the food was just phenomenal. Perfect bowl of hot udon to help soothe the sore throat that I am sure everyone has at this time of year.

Authentic Japanese Udon and Soba that does not fail to impress. Noodles made in house and broth has incredible umami flavor.

A delicious, hidden gem. Probably the best udon I've ever had. We loved everything we had. I like spicy food, but aired on the side of caution and chose level 1 for my shabu shabu; so glad I did as that level was an ideal enhancement to the dish vs being an overpowering element. I will go out of my way to dine here again.
