My wife and I were craving dosa & found this on google so stopped by. Few pros and cons of my visit. Pro- the food was good & tasty. Cons- they were only doing “take out” but you can eat on any open table. The restaurant was full & plenty of staff walking around. But the experience of this method was not good. You have to get your own water from self serve area, you have to clean the table yourself as they were dirty. A lot of plastic goes to waste as they package everything up in takeout manner even if you’re eating onsite. Also the dosa all comes unprepared. All stuffings etc are packaged separately so you’re basically assembling your own dosa which I wasn’t fond of as everything is prepackaged & not “fresh/warm”. I will definitely come back in future to give it another shot and hope to be able to give them a 5 star. This visit was probably a 3.5 but I have a 4 as the food was good.

Mylapore is a south Indian vegetarian restaurant in Folsom. It has lots of south Indian breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner options. We ordered uttapam, kothu paratha and pongal. I really didn’t expect the taste to be so amazing, just fell in love with the food. From the food itself to sides like chutneys, sambar taste was on point, hygienic and awesome. Variety of beverages like chai, coffee, lassi, rose milk are available. For dine-in currently they are giving togo boxes with disposables and sitting area in the restaurant. Even the washrooms are very neat and well-maintained. Also, there are Lots of frozen homely curries buy1 get1 and sweets which are being sold. We got gajar halwa to try. Do not miss this place if you love South Indian taste. Can’t wait to come back and try out other dishes. Thanks for running an amazing restaurant. Keep up the good taste 🤩

We had the best experience of authentic South Indian food. Being a Bangalorean, I’m very particular about taste of idly and rava dosa. This place gives you the same taste as the best places of bangalore restaurants. We had ordered sambar vada, idly vada, masala dosa. They were amazing and was devoured within seconds it arrived. I want to explicitly mention the coconut chutney and sambar’s taste were mouth watering and ambrosian. But the star food was of course vada. The crispiness, perfectly cooked combo is gonna stay forever. This is one place you will want to visit again.

First time being here, and have to say the service was splendid. The staff is friendly, professional, courteous, and respectful. Food was delicous. You can taste the freshness. It is truly authentic food. No complaints, will definitely come back with the family to eat here again. I ordered a mini tiffin, which included a small portion of everything. Highly recommend it if you want to try the different dishes. Family got the dry fruit dosa, which was good as well. The masala chai and the coffee is a southern authenticity you have to try. Overall experience was great from the staff to the food. Keep up the great service and thank you for a great experience.

We were traveling from Tahoe to the bay area and some of our friends recommended this restaurant. Some of the reviews also suggested that this is excellent and that you can't get something similar to this in Sunnyvale/San Jose/ Santa Clara, to which I disagree. We had Mysore masala dosa, Andhara kara dosa , chana bhatura and filter coffee. The filter coffee was good. But the dosas were not up to my expectations. I honestly have had better dosas in Santa clara at the same price. Mysore masala dosa was not crispy at all and not as spicy as a Mysore masala should be. The quantity of Sambar and chutneys with dosas is too less

Food was good. We were not very happy with the service. They were not rude but were not welcoming either. It is a self service place. We forgot one item and they were very helpful to safely return it next day.

It has been a year since the last visit here. We went for lunch this time and as a pleasant surprise it was happy hour for most dosas. Was super happy after a great meal, which included rava dosa, andhra kara masala dosa, pongal, tava grilled podi idli, and rava kesari. Loved rava kesari, and the sweetness was perfect. Pongal and rava kesari was the best. Service was very quick and food was served one after the other so that we could eat it fresh and hot. Freshness and quality for sure need to be mentioned along with the taste. I'm looking forward to another visit soon.

Poor service, top much wastage of packing material..all items are packed and given. Chola bhatura was 4 pieces broken and chana..Like really... a great disrespect to food and won't come back..it seems a hush hush and if u are ready to eat dosa broken and folded in a box please go ahead...learn from other Indian places in sunnyvale how to run a good restaurant...hands down....

We come here every month and we choose not to go to any other Indian restaurant even though it it pretty far for us. This is the best and my vegetarian family feels at ease because of its all vegetarian menu and kitchen. Their food is delicious and not heavy on oil and grease. They have great and fast customer service. They are very polite. All I can say to them is thank you for your existence.

Discovered this on a trip from bay area to Tahoe and the food was so good that we made it a point to pick up again on our way back. This restaurant is legit south Indian food. Literally every item is a bite of happiness. Try anything, you WILL only be more happy.

The best Indian food that I ever had. We had a best experience in this cuisine and now I know where I am going to eat when I come to Folsom. I wish this cuisine was close by my city. Highly recommend to visit this place if you like Indian food, you won’t be disappointed.

After reading a lot of positive reviews, I was very eager to try south Indian tiffin. Not sure if it was just that day but the food was not up to the mark. Small onion uthappam batter was old and uthappam was very sour. I didn't take a picture as we didn't eat it. Dry fruit rava dosai was not great. Onion rava dosai was ok. Sambar vadai was ok. Filter coffee and mango lassi was good They serve food in disposable cups and plates. We have to get water.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and they sure were quick and efficient. ordering was a breeze and the food was ready in no time. Highly recommend the Dosa. Had a buttermilk to wash it down. Great taste and good quality. My friends were raving about the filter coffee. Definitely on my list to try other things on the menu the next time i am in the area

One of the best places for south Indian cuisines!! It was so full of people and we had to wait around 20 mins to get it but as soon as we ordered, the food was on the table!! The staff is so super efficient and welcoming!! We loved everything we tried , dosa, vada, lassi, idli, uttapam!!! Loved it wholly!!! Open more stores please in bay area!!!

Best South Indian food in the US. Rava onion dosa was so soft, it just melted in my mouth Kothu parotta had a good mix of kururma. They should give more kuruma on the side as I felt it was a bit dry Podi dosa was really good. They don't add ghee on the podi so it is like a powder Filter coffee- Never had a filter coffee which felt so fresh

Best South Indian vegetarian restaurants ever! We love the food here. The parotta kurma is to die for, and the poori chole is amazing! The rose milk cools you down on a hot day, and the mini tiffin is a must try, especially the thattai idly. Prices are great, too! We love mylapore restaurant!

Decent South Indian food - dosa, uttapam and Bisi pele bath. Service was ok but one star deducted for sambhar. Sambhar was blend and lacked flavors. Red and white chutney saved the day!

Food was really good and staff was super friendly. Really down to earth. I’ve never had Southern Indian food so this was a first. As someone who mostly vegetarian , I really thought the Dosa and kothu paratha that ordered were good. I wish it was spicier but overall really enjoyed the food. Not my culture so I’m not used to a lot of fat and oil, which the food did have a lot of. That said, the food was still great, people were nice, and I’d go back for sure.

Everything about this place is great! Food taste was top notch, excellent filter coffee, service was super quick, personnel at the counter was very courteous and nice. If only this was closer to Bay Area, I’d be a frequent visitor. Highly recommend this place.

The food is always delicious!! They're usually pretty steady with volume of customers but still they get your food out promptly. The vibe is like a quick service, you will order at the counter and pick a table number where they will bring your food to you. The staff is hard working and will offer to help you with the menu if you need to. You can always use Google 😌 I got the mini idly with sombar, and the masala dosa. If you're sensitive to spice then probably don't get the masala. Everything is vegetarian and very flavorful! They have Togo options so you can take home an entire meal or even preorder for the week if you'd like. The chutney is delicious keep in mind it has spice to it, not a lot but if you're not typically a spicy person then don't use too much. They have chai as well, I ordered the spicy buttermilk drink, it has spices like black cumin and such and it helps with the spices from the masala. Not your typical sit down restaurant for anything fancy. The use disposable utensils.

I had tried Mylapore food in another branch previously so went in with high expectations. The Benne Masala Dosa, Tomato Onion Uttapam and Podi Idli and Steamed Idli were good. Medu Wada and Mysore Sada Dosa were kind of cold. It felt like they were made much before serving. It wasn't as fresh as the ones we tried in another branch. Coffee was super. Quantity is good enough so we prefer to divide in 2. Check out more on my Instagram Food page @veggie_central

The food tasted great! We tried the mysore masala dosa, chili uttapam, medu Vada, Rava dosa and poori Kurma. We loved all dishes, it took us back to India. The ambience has a traditional darshini style look and feel. It doesn’t have the new upscale feel some restaurants offer these days. The service was quick and friendly. I would recommend this place to come with family if ever you are missing South Indian food.
