I don't recommend this BJ's Wholesale Club .The customer services are very rude and they are unprofessional! Including the managers too. They make the people wait in the line so long when you will return something . I had a bad experience returning foods already expired with two persons from India in the customer service who they refused to help me and they decided to call the manager to made the transaction for me and he was angry with attitude behavior making a big deal for no reason.

We got an offer to join BJ'S in our mail for $25 instead of $55 with a $40 welcome bonus and decided it was worth giving BJ'S a try even though we already got a Cosco Membership. Once we got to the store, the associate told us the code wasn't working and she couldn't do the offer (she also said that it happened a few times over the past few days so this is not just our code). She said she could do the $25 membership but without a "valid code" we wouldn't get the $40 bonus. Her colleague told her the only way was to get us a $40 gift card which would have be fine. She said she'd ask the manager but the manager didn't even bother to look at us and just said they wouldn't do anything even though we had the legit coupon in hands. Since this isn't even an isolated incident (they said themselves it happened to a bunch of people), I'll just say this is a scam to get people to the store and try to have them sign up anyways. I'd rather waste an hour of my time than giving $25 to these scammers. I wish there were a way to give a 0 star review.

I've been a long time Costco member but recently received a much lower Membership price from BJ's so decided to try it for a year. Not happy with the Coupon process first of all, especially in 2018. Each Month I receive a book of all Specials by mail but there's no way to see the cost of each item unless you go to the store. It doesn't matter how much the coupon will reduce by, if I don't know what the original price is! Another issue really bothers me is your Waltham, MA location doesn't have enough staff, or at least not at check-out. Recently I was there on Saturday Mid afternoon and each Register had long lines of customers including Self Check-out. Several customers needed assistance, including myself. Only a young staff member name Camilla was running around trying to assist every customer. It was quite frustrating for anyone, but she was polite and handled it well. She should definitely be recognized in some ways. There was another female staff member at Self Check-out Supervisor's desk with the same customer for a long time probably also needed assistance, and the Manager was nowhere to be found. The store is poorly ran and it needs some attention, especially with staff training.

The store is well equipped and the prices are competitive compared to other wholesalers in the area. The staff at the meat section and membership desk is helpful and nice. However, the checkout experience could be much better - unhappy with their work and not always willing to help the checkout people create bad ending to BJ's shopping experience.

We are local to this BJ’s store and do shopping at least once a week and it is hard to keep all the receipt. Today, We went to return two items one had receipt and another didn’t but Avani in the customer service asked us our origin, we thought she was being friendly so we told her where we were from and she discriminated us saying “you all people from xyz…Origin does this kind of thing — buy and return). She even started taking in her own language thinking we should understand it but we couldn’t understand any of her word and had to request her to speak in English language. We felt very discriminated and humiliated in front of few other people behind us. Even after returning home we kept thinking about her word “You People from ….origin” This has made very uncomfortable to visit this store again. I am requesting Store mangers to please explain Avani that this is very unacceptable and should not be treated to any customer in such way.

Pay attention if you do online in-store pickup orders at this location! Once, I was given K-cups that had expired. More recently, on two separate orders, I was given substitute items that cost less than what I ordered, despite me unchecking the "allow substitutions" box when ordering. I called and spoke to Carlos (who claimed he was a manager.) I asked if he gets this complaint often (since it happened on 2 orders that I placed back to back but months apart) but he averted the question. I said "Even if I had allowed substitutions why wouldn't they at least charge me for the correct item?) I bet if they have to substitute with a more expensive item that they change it to make sure they don't lose money. It is very shady & I didn't like how he gave no explanation nor showed any concern. I will be avoiding this location at all costs if I end up renewing my membership next week. Pay attention & be warned.

I saw a big rat close to the cosmetics section I informed the staff and they told me that they were aware of it.

Was surprised at the wide selection of items in the bakery section. One of the largest collections I’ve seen in big retail! Loved that you can checkout on your phone and not have to wait in line for the self checkout counter.

I just want to give a huge and well-deserved shout out to Brianna at the BJ's Wholesale Club store in Waltham. Brianna (forgive me if I spelled your name wrong) went above and beyond by taking a really bad experience with the website ordering process (for in-store pickup) and turning it completely around into a great experience. It's very clear by how she handled the situation that she cares about her customers, which is an unfortunately rare quality in customer service these days. I'm sure it's exemplary service like this which is why she is managing the store. Happy holidays, Brianna! And thank you!

Great selection of household items. But the men's apparel never has size smalls or x smalls in many of the clothing selections.

In store pickup: Carts are loaded and left in the area in front of the registers. Overall pleased with service and selection of products, especially ginger, guava pastelitos and tubs of hot cocoa. Keep coming back for vegetarian patties, etc. but only 3 stars because: RODENT. I joined this year and shopped in-store only a handful of times. Twice-- I've seen a rodent (large mouse or small rat?) dash under the aisles. Once from the card section, and once underneath one of the side baking area shelves.

Fair prices, good selection, but please for the love of god have at least one extra person doing checkouts, it's excessive every time I go. I'd pay $1-2 extra per bill to save a 20 minute wait at checkout. In fact, I simply avoid going sometimes if I only need a couple things, because I know the wait is crazy.

A mid-sized wholesale club near downtown. Its location is superb and parking is painless. Not as big as the Dedham club but it has all it takes.
