Honestly this was one of the highlights of our trip to New York. We wanted to see some jazz while we were in the Big Apple and we were not disappointed. You ring the bell for the apartment block, they buzz you through, and then shortly before the start time the indubitably classy Miss Eliot lets you into her home. She was a very gracious host- it wasn’t just that she was outstanding at playing piano (as were all the other performers), or the cereal bars and fig juice handed out during the performance, but the fact she seemed truly honoured that we had come to watch her play, whereas in fact the honour was all ours. When we come back to New York this will be top of our list! (And yes, it is FREE- mad to believe- but donations are appreciated.)

An amazing experience and truly a gem difficult to find. It is one of those unexpected things you bump into in life. It is our first time in NY, we come from Spain and this was definitely one the highlights of our trip. If you have the chance, go to Marjorie’s and it will enrich a bit more your life. Thank you for this gift and never stop bringing joy to people’s lives.

This was such a comforting and beautiful experience. Ms. Marjorie does this from the heart and I appreciate the magic she creates through her art for the us, the audience, and in remembrance of her late son. It’s a free show but they do take cash and Venmo donations so PLEASE do donate because it’s worth the effort they put in.

An absolutely beautiful afternoon of incredible music & energy. If you don't have Venmo bring some cash for the collection. Entry is free but this is well worth putting some money into the collection.

An incredible experience. Arrived 45 minutes early and was honored to get to be part of the audience. Such talent, warmth, and generosity. An excellent way to spend a Sunday afternoon - and I can’t wait to come back!

Do you like jazz? Do you like good-hearted, kind people? Do you like snacks? If any or all of those sound even mildly appealing to you, please do yourself a favor and visit (or livestream) on a Sunday afternoon. This was potentially the highlight of my recent trip to NYC as a first-time visitor.

Went there on 31/12/2017. My wife and me just knew a week before she was pregnant of our first child. I enjoyed it so much it still comes to my mind every once in a while. Hope Marjorie keeps doing this lovely thing for the people

A beautiful evening of wonderful jazz music! Truly a blessing! We were on a Harlem jazz tour and our tour guide, Joseph Cohen suggested we check out this Sunday evening tradition. It was his first time attending also and he really took a chance on bringing us to something that he himself wasn't familiar with. But man, did he really knock it out of the park with this one!!! A truly amazing experience!!! πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈπŸŽ·πŸŽΊπŸŽΈπŸ₯πŸŽ» Oh... almost forgot. This building (555 Edgecombe Ave.) is also a historical landmark where many greats such as Paul Robeson, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Lena Horn, Joe Louis, Jackie Robinson and many other notable African Americans. Definitely recommend when in New York!

A beautiful, wonderful experience. Light refreshments were served and the performance was free, though a tip bucket for the performers does go around, so bring cash. I was truly blown away by the talent and love present in the room. Thank you to Marjorie and the performers for allowing me to experience such a beautiful moment. 100% recommend if you're looking for some good jazz.

We were at Marjorie's house on December 4th. It was highly recommended to us. The experience was unforgettable. In addition to the great musical level, there is a lot of emotion and an exquisite treatment. definitely one of the best experiences in NYC. I would love to hug Marjorie again and tell her that she is loved,. A big hug from Barcelona.

The soul feels renewed once you walk in the door. It is beautiful how Marjorie and her crew continue to breathe life into this historic place by honoring its legacy through music. Leave them a nice donation if you can!
