Okay so I will do my review fast and easy, my lacking of stars is based on the food that I tasted and not a reflection of the entire menu and I would still say to give the place a try. Service was a 10, servers were really friendly and attentive and we loved that! the atmosphere inside is a 10 as well, like you wouldn't expect for a restaurant to look like that inside just by looking at it from the outside. Okay let's go to the food that we ordered, calamari was a 10, it seemed fresh and the texture was perfect, I think I'll come back for mainly that. Roasted duck ( quarter ) was good on the outside, the skin was crunchy but it was dry and the sides I just didn't care for the sour stewed cabbage, the ribs for me was dry as well drizzled in sauce I didn't like it, it was flaky. The burger was huge, good size but the patty was then again dry and overcooked, thick cut fries that's not really that big of a deal. All in all it was fine, but do check them out, there's a lot on the menu! They have outside seating as well.

The restaurant decor is very unique and artistic; my family and I were not welcomed upon entering the hostess area:/... The man behind the host stand was on the phone and didn't acknowledge us; then after two minutes he had the bus boy seat us... Surprisingly, we had to sit at our booth for just about ten minutes, before one of us had to get their attention!! I couldn't believe it... The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the stuffed cabbage and potato pancakes were good; my cousin's family moved to Lemont, a few years ago. My other cousin was excited for us to try the food at this restaurant. I hope the restaurant can see this post:(

I am Lithuanian. Had never had Lithuanian food before. Got the Lithuanian combo. It was SO GOOD. not sure what I’m supposed to compare it to, but I’m a believer. Felt like I was at home. Service was great. Food was hot. Beet soup was cold. Dessert was amazing. Server made it fun and personable Kamela? Can’t wait to go back.

Loved this place! Went with my brother and mom. I think we found a new favorite. Great ambiance. Huge selection of food, good portions. Food was fantastic! I got the lamb kebob, they got schnitzel. Service was great. We will definitely be back, and will be bringing others!

Grand Duke's is a lovely Lithuanian restaurant with a great variety of European dishes. I tried their delicious Borscht, which was packed with flavor. The pork shashlik was also fantastic, with tender and juicy meat. I highly recommend Grand Duke's for a satisfying dining experience.

A bit of a let down tbh, was hoping it to be a bit more authentic. •kepta duona (fried bread with garlic and cheese) was quite good, •saltibarsciai (cold Beetroot soup) - the soup itself was nice but the potatoes it came with so weird, had to leave them.. • both balandeliai (cabbage rolls) and apkepti cepelinai (baked zeppelin) was clearly cooked by someone not Lithuanian, a sort of a twist on these classic dishes and not very good twist on either of the dishes. Service was alright, atmosphere was OK ( just a few tables but it was an early Tuesday afternoon) The beer was great 😁 At the end of the day, it's nice to have a place like this just hope it would be a bit more authentic 😊

Hell yeah I want a schnitzel! Dinning room looks amazing. Very classy but mellow. Food was very good. i would prefer the creamed spinach to have cheese in it, but hey, that's life. Spatzel was spot on but on the small side. I should have asked for extra butter in mine to help with my heart attack. Good food! Will surely come back!

Well driving through the southwest suburbs yesterday found this lovely restaurant and nice touch of Europe without leaving the country. Well the menu has many wonderful choices I stuck to what I knew nothing better than pork schnitzel the sides were wonderful also love the beet salad. So if you’re in the neighborhood of Downers Grove or wanna take a little drive this is the place to be thank you for a wonderful dinner.

Phenomenal dining experience for my mom's birthday. Drinks from the bar were well made, and the food was so delicious because it was made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the Oktoberfest Sausage Platter and the Hungarian Goulash. They made my mom's birthday so special by bringing her a yummy piece of cake with strawberry roses. Forget chain restaurants...SUPPORT LOCAL and dine here! The European culinary delights are soooo good!!!

The server was very attentive and service was good overall. Our food was prepared well and a good temperature. The food was delicious. My complaint is that our table was somewhat close to the door and there was a constant blast of second hand smoke from outside. When we exited they were a bunch of patrons who felt entitled enough to smoke right outside the door. I could somewhat understand if it was cold or rainy but it was a perfect night. The smell of smoke was a real turnoff.

We have gone to Grand Dukes many times for over 10 years as this is one of the only restaurants in Chicagoland area with Lithuanian food where we can dine in. This was our first time visiting the new location. Friendly & attentive staff. Inside is beautiful & modern. Food was good with flavors all there. They ran out of cepelinai but we did come around 7 & they close at 9 so understandably a little late. Would come back again to try!

Food was great! I ordered the pork schnitzel. It came with choice of two sides and brown or mushroom gravy. My choices were perfect. I ordered the spaetzel and sauerkraut. The sauerkraut wasn't too sweet or too bitter. It tasted just like my Mom used to make it. My schnitzel was lean and tasty, not dry or over fried. I will definitely be back!!

Disappointment. As a vegan I do not recommend coming here, because they have no vegan options apart from salads. It is 2022 and there should be at least vegan 1 option at a restaurant. The waitress tried helping me to get something more gourmet than a salad, but I was served some veggies between two buns as a "burger". Not very different from a salad. Pretty sure your chefs are talented enough to come up with something better than that.

The food here is always five stars! But I had a curious experience with the host. I'm from Ohio so I don't get the opportunity to visit Duke's very often, but I was in town for a wedding two weeks ago. I wanted to eat there before heading home and invited my in-laws to join my fiance and I because they have never had Lithuanian food before. It was Sunday and we had a six hour drive ahead of us so we went right when they opened at 11am. We ask for a table for four and the host tells us every single table is reserved for mothers day - they'll be full by 11:30. He heavily implied they couldn't seat us in any way shape or form. I totally understood, not even thinking about how the holiday could impact business, but it took a couple more minutes of us chatting about what to do/where to eat instead before he said we could sit at the bar. It really felt like we were not welcome there, but I was still thrilled we could dine at all! Our bartender was super friendly and provided excellent service, and of course the food was delicious. We were there until a little after 12 and at no point was the restaurant even above 50% capacity, tons of tables open. I don't know if 20+ people made reservations and didn't show or if he just didn't want us there, but it was unfortunate for my in-laws to have such an unwelcoming experience the first time I could share the food of my people with them.

After last night's meal I had food poisoning. I chose the grilled octopus, the food was brought quickly, I assume it was cooked in advance, for dessert I chose Spurgus, they were cold, I think I will not return to this restaurant.

This was a great surprise! First time there and was pleasantly surprised. Had schnitzel, homemade sauerkraut and roasted potatoes. Fantastic but I couldn't eat it all. My husband had goulash with fresh potato pancakes. Not a bite left, he was very happy. Only bad note we had no room left for dessert. We will not make that mistake next time. Second trip and daughter and family joined for a birthday celebration. Lovely time food was great. Tried the soups; hangover, borsch, potato pancakes for an appetizer. Grandson tried the burger and fries. Burger was huge and every bite was gone. Still didn't leave room for desert but daughter was gifted with a birthday cake and fresh berries for her birthday! Lovely time again. Server was excellent and we had a great time!

Grand Dukes is a fantastic restaurant serving home style Lithuanian American comfort food. The menu has many, many choices that are all delicious - including appetizers, soups, dinners, desserts, drinks from the bar, beers, vodkas, specialty drinks and more. Check the online menu out. Below are the photos of our orders. For appetizer we tried pretzels bites with mustard sauce that had a dry wine flavor and cheese dip, also garlic breadsticks smothered with a smoky imported tasting cheese which is crispy like a crouton (not soft) and good - the cheese poured on top gives it a softness. For dinners we had Jaeger Schnitzle (they have many different types of Schnitzle to choose from) with mushroom gravy and cucumber and tomato salad, Sausage Platter with potatoes, sauerkraut, salad, mustard and horseradish sauces, Bavarian Combo Sampler of cabbage roll, Schnitzle, sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and potato pancakes with applesauce. All very good. #GrandDukes #GrandDukesDownersGrove #SausagePlatter #Schnitzle #BavarianSampler #Bavarian #LithaunianFood

It took awhile before being seated. Once we informed the host that we had a reservation, she seemed very shocked and nervous! The waitress also came to our table nervous and stuttered when asking what we would like to drink! We thought about walking away from the table but decided to stay. We ordered (2) soups: The Beet Borscht Stew and Wild Mushroom & Barley Soup. The Wild Mushroom was just okay but the Beet Borscht and the sour cream was a hit! Stuffed Cabbage was also delightfully tender and savory, topped with an awesome sauce! In the "Build your own Combo", The Chicken Schnitzel was okay but nothing special. The Zeppelin's sausage was good but the doughy covering was too thick for me and not very tasteful. Potato Pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious! Surprise! The best of the day, was the "Mashed Potatoes!" The potatoes were so tasteful and smooth, that they didn't need any other seasoning and all of the sauces were awesome! After some time went by the waitresses seemed to warm-up but the hostess didn't even say, Goodbye" nor "Thank you for dining with us!" Note: My wife noticed that quite a few patrons were constantly gawking at us, while we were eating! It doesn't seem as if this establishment is familiar with melinated people dining within the restaurant or just a bad service day!

Moronic staff. They love walking around you and not acknowledging you. Sat for 15 minutes before the girl got someone who never came. She said a "she" was coming. Finally got drinks and food all at the same time because we already waited for too long. Actually, as he showed up, we were ready to leave. In the end, the food was good but it wasn't that busy for us to be ignored. Not cool.

The food was absolutely delicious! I got the Lithuanian combo and others in my party created their own combo. My goal was to get the most uniquely Lithuanian dishes. Kugelis and Lithuanian sausage were two items from the Lithuanian combo I had not had before and they were great! The service was okay. On Sunday afternoon and many tables were still open yet service was slow. It could be because there were some larger groups (not sure if this was usual or just that week).

Awesome place! Atmosphere is top notch along with the menu! Very hard to choose a dish considering everything sounds delicious. I went with the schnitzel combo and it was fantastic. Our server, Stefana, was great! We had a big group and she was very patient and extremely helpful!
