We took a tour of the guardian building. What an amazing building! The history, the art, the architecture, and our guide, Michael, were all amazing. Definitely would recommend to anyone that wants to know more about Detroit! Or really anyone that has some free time. It's worth it!

See below for Guardian tour. Our most recent tour was also with Michael and we toured the People Mover. It was such an informative and fun tour. Michael did not disappoint and I learned so much. I’ll try all the other tours with him. My girlfriend and I had Michael as our tour guide for the Guardian Building. He was so informative and well prepared. He took the time to make sure all our questions were answered. There were probably 20-25 of us on the tour. We’re going to go on other tours that Michael does.

Fantastic tour of the Guardian Building with Detroit History Tours. Really interesting and informative one hour tour with Michael. He walked us through the building's history and we got to see both the underground vaults and a view of Detroit from a floor close to the top of the building. Highly recommended!

Where do I begin? I have been on countless tours, every single one of them (and I truly mean it) have been amazing! I learn so much about the city and a history! If you love history, Detroit, and laughter…do yourself a favor and go on a tour. It doesn’t matter which one-they’re ALL great!! (Pictures from different tours below)

Just wanted to send a follow up email and let you know how much we enjoyed our People Mover tour on Friday. The group gets together every year and we always look to plan a day event. We have done painting classes, wine and beer tastings, art museums, etc. and this was by far our favorite. As the planner for the group it is always a little nerve racking to plan an event for 15 women but everyone said how much they enjoyed the tour. We have all been frequent riders over the years but seem to always use the same stations so some of the art we had never seen and the rest we never really noticed. Augusta was AMAZING!!!! She really knew her stuff and kept us moving at a good pace! I will be recommending this tour to others that visit Detroit!

The haunted history tour was all I hoped for and more fun! My favorite stop was Fort Wayne. If any place has spirits hanging around, I imagine this would be the place. Baily and Jeff are great hosts and are gifted story tellers; bringing Detroit history alive. We can’t wait for our next one!

What an experience! We bought tickets for the Haunted History Tour, not sure what to expect — but were overwhelmingly pleased with the incredible tour! Our guide, Bailey, is so knowledgeable about the city of Detroit, the surrounding cities & all of their history. Not only that, but she is an impeccable story teller! We learned so much information and were captivated by the stories she shared. The tour made many fun stops and we got to meet and hear stories from the people that make our city great! This was our first experience with Detroit History Tours, but it will by far not be our last. Thank you for taking the time to keep history alive and so passionately share it with others!

Had such a great night with Bailey, Abby and Wendy during the oddities tour. Baily knows so much about the city and shares it in such a fun way. So much fun! We look forward to going on other tours.

A group of 4 of us just did the Haunted Detroit tour. We went in with modest expectations hoping for a reasonably entertaining evening and were blown away by the experience. Not only did our tour guide, Bailey, provide a deep and rich body of history on the areas we toured, but she went above and beyond entertaining us every step of the way. Her delivery was on point, her humour was perfectly timed and extremely well received and she was very personable. The tour was a gift that will be remembered for years to come and we will most certainly be taking more tours from the group at Detroit History Tours. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone looking to do something different.

We booked an entire bus with Detroit History Tours for my husband's birthday for the 'Historically Delicious Detroit Food Tour'. I just wanted to send a heartfelt "Thank you!" to the entire Detroit History team, but specifically Bailey and Christina! The presentation of the history, food, and choice of restaurants were beyond our expectations. What you do is absolutely special and unique. Your effort, care, and love of all things Detroit is witnessed during all of your tours and you take your customers on a beautiful experience through the city of Detroit. Thank you again for being you, sharing your passions, and making his birthday REALLY special!

I've been on two tours (Historically Haunted & Wild Women) so far and both were so much fun! Super excited for the January scavenger hunt! I would definitely recommend adding the tours to your things to do in Detroit list.

Our tour was FANTASTIC! Bailey was our tour guide for our tour of Detroit's "Wild Women." We learned so much, and the stories were so fun and interesting. Bailey is a fantastic storyteller, and she kept us engaged the entire tour. We have been recommending Detroit History Tours to all of our friends. I can't wait to try one of the other tours they offer.

This was, by far, one of the best things I've ever done in Detroit! The staff was amazing! Bayleigh was informative, entertaining, and welcoming! I learned so much that I feel I should have received college credits, but it was so entertaining and engaging . We did the Wild Women of Detroit tour. I highly recommend it not only for the exciting history but also to watch how well Wendy maneuvered the bus through Detroit! Well done! We will come back for more!

The food tour was awesome! We learned so much about our city, and went to restaurants we had never tried. Bailey was an awesome tour guide- so enthusiastic and knowledgable. There were some surprises that really made the tour top notch. Highly recommend for locals and out-of-towners.

Just finished the DETROIT CLASSICS FOOD TOUR - it was the BEST, didn’t disappoint. Had meals at 3 Detroit locations - 1) Scotty Simpson’s Fish & Chips, 2) Buddy’s Pizza 3) Marcus Hamburgers. Very good food, Bailey is best story teller, an encyclopedia (that’s Google in a book) of Detroit history. Christina and Wendy had surprise treats at the end. I’ll definitely go again.

What a wonderful experience! My family and I just did a “haunted tour” of Detroit and it was FANTASTIC. You can tell the tour guides were so knowledgeable and passionate about Detroit history and the tour was extremely well organized and thought out. I’m already planning my next tour and would recommend this company to anyone seeking something different to do in the metro area.

This review is specific to the Bizarre History of Detroit Tour. What a great evening. The tour starts in Hamtramck (a gem itself) on a proper motor coach. The bus was clean, new and comfortable. (pro-tip-make sure you have a good view of the TV monitor). Bailey led the tour and was fun, interesting, engaging and well informed. The tour lasted 3.5 hours but it was worth every minute of the time we spent together. We went places and saw things and heard stories that made me say "I never knew". If you have never taken this tour it is a must do. If you have friends from out of town coming in, what a great way to introduce them to Detroit. Some of the sights qualify as more INTERESTING than Bizarre but there was enough Bizarre to justify the title.

Cannot recommend this enough! Super informative and interesting bus tour. Our guide was amazing, and the trip was ver well timed and balanced. The bus was very nice, as was the driver and all the people at check-in

I had the pleasure of my Second Detroit History Tour just a few nights ago, and once again, it did not disappoint! Bailey is passionate and knowledgeable beyond measure...she keeps you entertained throughout the tours and definitely introduces you to places that are "off the beaten path". I highly recommend!!

We booked Detroit History Tours for a pre-conference tour for the 2023 Impact100 Global conference in Detroit. It was THE best way to kick off our conference. Each person on the tour raved about the quality of the content, how our tour guide, Bailey, connected events throughout history, and the enthusiasm she shared with the group. It was the BEST, most informative, fun, and well run tour. Thank you Bailey, and the Detroit History Tour team! We would highly recommend you.

My partner and I went on the Historically Haunted tour tonight, on “angels” night. This is our second time going on a Detroit History Tour with Bailey. The first tour we went on was Bizarre detroit shortly before the pandemic. Our goal is to try and do every single one of their tours. We cannot recommend this tour company enough. They are well prepared, very friendly, super knowledgeable and you can feel their love and passion for the history of Detroit. As a former tour guide myself, I am in awe of their story telling skills and their ability to engage their audience. I cannot wait for our next tour!! Please check out their website and take a look at all their tour options.. you cannot go wrong no matter which you choose! Thank you Bailey! Hope we can collaborate some day. ❤️ Your friends from across the border.

I highly recommend booking a tour with Detroit History Tours! Such a wonderful experience. If you have the pleasure of having Bailey and Jeff as your tour guide, you will not be disappointed. They are incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and easy to talk to! The Historically Haunted Detroit tour is a lot of fun, especially at nighttime. The amenities and charter bus are top notch! Make sure you walk around the Detroit History Club's building, located inside the old funeral home, it is a blast from the past!

What a great way to spend an evening! Lot's of great information presented in a fun and interactive way. Dr. Bailey is knowledgeable on everything Detroit and being able to have her point at different things and explain their significance and weave it into the fabric of the surroundings as fabulous! Mostly history with a touch of architecture and personal stories made it very enjoyable! We're already planning on another tour.

We did the History Tour in the Detroit River this morning. It was really, really great! The ship is beautiful, it's lovely to be on the water and see Detroit from there. But even better than that we're stories told by Bailey! Not only were stories very interesting and amusing, she is truly an excellent story teller! I'll definitely try to sign up for her other tours!

I went on the Detroit Historic Pride, A Walking Tour on 6/18/22 and it was amazing! Mike and Jeff were great hosts. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and funny and I appreciated how Jeff always had the tablet ready with historical pictures. Fascinating history and amazing architecture. Will definitely look into more tours in the future! Thanks!!!

We went on the Bizarre Detroit Tour and had a blast! Bailey and Natalie were fun and full of factoids and minutia to liven the tour. We are looking forward to more Detroit History tours in our future.

This company is incredible!! Went on the Wild Women of Detroit tour and enjoyed every second of it. Bailey is an amazing storyteller, you will be hanging on her every word. Every bit of the tour was jam-packed with stories and laughs, and we visited 2 bars which are historic gems that I would never have come across otherwise. You will leave this tour proud of and in love with Detroit!

Wow! I can’t recommend Detroit History Tours enough! I’ve attended numerous tours and online events and I learn so much while being thoroughly entertained. Bailey’s knowledge of Detroit, both past and present, is astounding and she's a terrific storyteller. The tours are extremely well-organized and support other small Detroit businesses, exposing guests to current places and faces they may not know about. I’m always happy to spend time with Detroit History tours, whether in-person, online, or using the great tours on their app. Every time I do, I feel so proud to be a Detroiter and live in a town with such a rich history and thriving culture.

Amazing Tour company. In my opinion this is the tour company I judge all other tour companies by. Bailey and her team of very knowledgeable historians are simply the best. Yesterday we attended Beano for History. We had so much fun playing for prizes and learning about History with every number called. Such a fun way to learn about the history of Detroit. Our group enjoyed the event and enjoyed seeing the Ford Piquette Museum. Such a great night. We are all looking forward to our next Detroit History Tours event.
