Very small cramped restaurant but their food and service makes up for it. We ordered many different foods from the menu and every single one of them were flat out amazing. Especially all of their soba noodles, tempura and ducks were exceptionally good. All the employees were very attentive, polite and helpful. Highly recommend. I would definitely go back

My wife and I are visiting from Boston. We decided to try this restaurant based on the stellar reviews and also to see our friend Tomo who works in the kitchen. This is without a doubt one of the best meals we've ever eaten (and probably the best Japanese restaurant in the U.S. that we've been to ever). Also, shout out to our waiter for being attentive and providing excellent service. I'm blown away by how beautiful all the dishes looked and the exceptional taste. If I were to somehow die tonight and this is my last meal, I would die a happy man!!

A very special place for tasting modern Japanese food. I doubted the authenticity when looking at the menu but the dishes I ordered were full of umami. They were not "authentic" per se, but their taste had multiple layers of interesting and inquisitive flavors, and in my opinion, better than the traditional tempura and soba I had before. The only downside is that this place is pretty expensive. A 20% service charge is automatically applied. If you are adventurous and would love to try out modern Japanese food with a touch of western influence, I'd highly recommend that you try out this place and explore their menu.

Everything was light and tasty and nuanced. Flavor profiles were on point IMO. 👌Though I will say it’s a bit pricey for the amount of food my party got — I guess the service and the quality of the food make up the price though. the service was great and they were very accommodating (I was about an hour late to my res)! Thank you again! 🙏

Was excited to eat at this Asian owned, women owned restaurant. This place is known for their soba. There are dipping so as, cold sobas, and hot sobas. So, there is something for everyone. The service was amazing. Our host provided us with great suggestions on what to eat and how much to order. We felt very welcomed. We tried a few apps that were mouthwatering. I could eat that okra dish all day long. The duck meatballs were phenomenal. This place is vegetarian and vegan friendly. A reservation is recommended if you want to get into this small space but it's such a chill and welcoming vibe.

Amazing local restaurant with great service and delicious food. The quality of the food is amazing and everyone was hospitable. Small shop, but we got some chef counter seats by arriving 10 minutes before they opened and the view into the kitchen was fun. They have a second restaurant/bar two doors over that serves some great sake and has a cute patio.

My wife and I were lucky enough to snag a table and enjoy a variety of the food from their menu. The presentation and arrangement of each bite was carefully thought out and purposeful. Each item we tried was unique and delicious. Definitely wanting to stop back in again soon!

This was an okay experience with soba. My partner and I aren't super experienced with soba so maybe that's why we were a bit underwhelmed by the experience. We tried two apps rec'd by our waiter and they were okay at best. We had the cuttlefish and tempura eggplant. Both of the batter on these were a little too flour-y/thick so it wasn't a great textural experience. I ordered the mushroom soba and my partner had the duck soba. Taste-wise it was a little too salty yet bland. For the price and the reservation deposit ($25/person), the taste of the food seemed to be lacking and incongruent with the pizzazz they have around securing a reservation.

We came here with high recommendations from a friend. The reservations were full, so we took a shot at walk-in. We got lucky and waited 1 hour to get our table. We received a surprise amuse bouche. It was definitely a palate cleanser. To start, we got the Shime Saba, the Hokkaido Scallop Chawanmushi, the Octopus Ahijo, and Shrimp Tempura. The Shime Saba was light and refreshing with bursts of acidic tones. The Hokkaido Scallop Chawanmushi was a much heavier dish as it had egg custard. The Octopus was tender and intriguing. My kids enjoyed the Shrimp Tempura, though it was pretty oilly. Between starters, I would prefer the Shime Saba. We got the kids the Tempura Kake Soba while my wife and I got the Kamonegi Seiro Soba and the Cream of Black Trumpet Mushroom Soba. The kids enjoyed their soba. I actually prefer theirs over the ones we ordered. The Kamonegi Seiro Soba is the restaurant's most popular soba, and I can see why. The broth is interesting, and the duck meat was indulgent. I liked the meatball especially. The Cream of Black Trumpet Mushroom Soba was earthy as expected. It was far too earthy for me. Due to the kids' nagging, we got the Oreo Tempura and Miriam's Parfait. Both were quite sweet. Surprisingly, my kids did not finish the Oreo Tempura. This Soba place is a little different than the familiar and mainstream noodle shops. I can see why there's always a line-up.

We were very excited to try this place. We recently spent 3 weeks in Japan and loved exploring all the different food options, cold soba being one of those. We also enjoyed Art of the Table when it was in this same space many years back. While the space is still great, the food was mediocre all around. The highlight for us was the zucchini tempura, but the soba noodles were very difficult to eat as they clumped together and the broth was way over salted. I'm a little confused about all the awards and accolades. Our hope was this would be on par with our Japanese food experiences, but I guess our hunt will continue.

Cool experience and fantastic staff. Steak tartare was delicious (as were all the other dishes). Soba was great. Overall, food was exceptionally flavorful and feel-good.

Kamonegi makes my favorite soba - the duck meatball seiro has such a rich and umani taste. We got 4-5 dishes for 2 people, all of them were delicious and fresh, the tempura eggplants and eels are quite unique with great texture.

Reviewing as a vegetarian- I went with 3 other vegetarians and we were all able to get different dishes. Several veggie sobas available (both hot and cold) which is awesome! One star deducted because value for food is not great (it’s overly expensive for what it is). Glad I tried it, but probably wouldn’t come back bc of price. Also no air conditioning so avoid going on hot days. Make reservations in advance. Street parking available

Cozy place with fantastic food. Our service team was very friendly and attentive. Coffee salmon tartare sounded odd but was very creative and flavorful. The soba noodles (hot and cold) were very fresh and the most memorable aspect of dinner. Tempura was light, crispy, and perfectly cooked. Brussel sprout amuse-bouche from the kitchen was a pleasant and delicious surprise. Osaka cheesecake (not pictured) was very fluffy and a must order. Overall, great experience and well worth another visit.

Delicious food, great sake, friendly staff. Interesting and tasty items like foie gras tofu, really good mushroom tempura. Waiter recommended the Tengu sake hot, and it was delicious, especially perfect for a cold day.

Even though we reserved for 8:30pm on a Tuesday, we weren't seated for 10 minutes because the table before us was not cleared. Not much of an issue, but still a little annoying since we tried extra hard to be on time. We had kamon-nanban as well as the pork dipping sauce soba. The soba was delicious, broth for the nanban was really good and the broth for the dipping sauce soba was sweet. You actually get warm water to dilute the dipping sauce so you can drink it like a soup after you're done the noodles. The nanban came with a few slices of duck and some leek. I added mushrooms and a sous vide egg which made it all the more delicious. The foie gras tofu was pretty good. The wasabi really elevated the dish broth. Would get it again. We also got the seasonal sardine dish which was very good as well, probably my favourite in the night. Good mixture of flavors and the purée was tasty.

Awesome restaurant centered around their specialty: Soba. The unique starters and tempura dishes pair perfectly with the variety of different hot or cold soba preparations. Definitely a must try if you want to venture out from your typical Japanese spot.

So good! We got there around 5 PM on a Friday and there was a wait time of 30 minutes - just enough to go to their sister bar Hannyatou and get a sparkling yuzu cocktail. Back at Kamonegi we ended up getting the iberico pork Katsu, tempura squash, two kinds of dipping soba (cream of morel and the signature duck one), and finished off with tempura Oreos and matcha rocky road. All were good, but my favorites were the squash, cream of morel (a tad more flavorful IMO than the duck!), and matcha rocky road. They will also give you some soba water (pasta water) to thin your dipping broth and drink it after the noodles are gone.

Amazing soba and tempura! It’s authentic Japanese but with a twist on some items. The soba has the perfect firmness. The tempura is so light and crispy. And the dessert… so good I could’ve had a few of them if I could. Overall super high quality ingredients cooked so well. Recommend making reservations. Definitely will be going back!
