After reading a few reviews that highly recommend stopping at this place — we did. And it was good. TIP: Go next door to Truffle Queen and order some wine to taste. This will allow you to sit at the umbrella shaded tables and send someone over to Mee Sum Pastry to grab you a curry beef hom bow. The sweetness of the bread works really well against the beef curry on the inside of the pastry. So good! Apologies for the half-eaten food photo - I was almost done with the hom bow before thinking of taking a photo.

The Hombows at Mee Sum are legendary, period. Definitely try both the Curry Beef and the BBQ Pork if you can. You truly won’t be disappointed. They also have other fun pastries and dumplings you can check out. Beware: Lines are almost always long! Check @AWorldOnMyPlate Instagram for Seattle based content.

For conclusion, the food are definitely perfect, as the only Mee Sum place in the world, it’s actually nice to take a look and stop by some breakfast! Price are cheep too. But yes, old Chinese place are definitely with the horrible service, they don’t know how to appreciate customer because they are not worry to lose any.

Can’t believe we’ve never eaten here before today; can only echo how delicious the BBQ pork hombow is. We got the baked one to share as we walked: fluffy, warm & smelled oh so good! NOT all bun; yum savory filling balances the sweet dough. Can’t wait to return, try more goodies & make it a meal. 😋😋😋 P.S. 🥰 the beautiful takeout sacks!

Green tea sesame balls for life! I scoffed at the idea of the flavor while waiting in line and decided to try anyway. Took my first bite and the gods corrected me where I stood--it was so damn delicious! The crust, the chewy dough, the heavenly filling! Forgive me, Lord, for ever doubting Mee Sum. The line also moved quickly, thanks to the efficient staff. If you're a fan of Asian/Canton pastry--you have to try out this place.

Love your food BUT…. HORRIBLE customer service. Came by here twice getting the worst service possible. Please replace your cashier workers. I’m sure they are all family but teach them some respect and patience. You are losing great reviews because of them. I will definitely be recording those cashiers the next time we stop by to help show their owners how horrible they treat their customers. These workers are very fortunate I had my kids and parents with me.

Must eat. Curry Bao and BBQ pork bao are the go-to. This place is always on the top of the list when I’m at Pike Place. Get there early before the line

Saw this place outside of the Pike Place market with a long line and decided to give it a try without looking at reviews. Glad we gave it a try, as it was so good. We ordered the bbq pork buns and sesame balls. They were fresh and hot. The pork buns were falling apart, but it wasn’t too hard to eat cleanly. Pork buns were so soft and juicy. Definitely a must try if nearby Pike Place, and worth the wait if there is a line.

The place to go if you're a dim sum fan!! The crab ragoons were creamy and huge! The shrimp shumai were a good sized portion and they were so juicy, you didn't need a dill sauce! You can see them preparing the dim sum so you know it's fresh and not frozen!

We visited Pike Place during weekday and off-holiday season, very pleasant indeed, no queues for several outlets. We tried the BBQ Hom Bow, Mini Moon cake without yolk. All are delicious, especially the BBQ pork hom bow freshly from the oven. Crispy bread with fragrant and juicy pork filling. Mooncake also has flaky skin and not too sweet lotus pas paste.

Mee Sum Pastry is a staple in Pike Place serving Chinese savory and sweet pastries. We ordered the chicken shrimp chive dumpling, crispy BBQ pork pastry and the beef curry pastry. All of them were delectable but my favorite was the beef curry one. It is a little pricey though as each pastry was about $4. Definitely a must for anyone visiting Pike Place.

I’m not an expert on these types of pastries or foods as they probably have very specific techniques etc. However I would like to point out how fresh all the items are in the morning (9:00am when I ordered). Everything tastes great and nicely seasoned. Tried various items that caught my attention; BBQ Pork Stick wasn’t very tough and had a great sweet flavor from the sauce. The egg tart was just sweet enough to taste the filling throughout while the crust was flaky and light which is really nice. Lastly we got a chicken steamed Bao which was just everything you’d expect from it! Great food overall with decent prices considering its Pike Place Market.

Pretty meh foods. We got the BBQ pork Hom bow, pineapple bread and curry beef cone. Only the pineapple bread was great. The rest was super sweet and really did not have much to offer. Won’t be back.

Pretty great pastry shop with a good variety of authentic Chinese pastries. We ordered the bbq pork hon bow, the red bean sesame ball and an almond cookie. The hon bow was fluffy, light, and delicious. Will definitely be returning for seconds soon.

Was my first time going and I can’t wait to go back soon! I ordered winter melon and sesame moon cakes. I liked them both but I want to try them without the yolk next time, either way it still tasted great! I also ordered a Chicken hom bow, not my sip of tea but I will try the bbq one next time! The service was great, the had a long line but handled it quickly!

No pics. Ate almost everything up even before we left the parking garage. We always get the curry beef and bbq pork hum bao. Inexpensive and generous sized fillings. We also got a read bean cake and red bean sesame ball to share and they worth it. Love this place. Went back another time and this time remembered pics, kinda…
