Cohen’s was my number one choice when I was told by urgent care that my daughter needed to go to the hospital. The care is suppose to be exceptional but I could not tell you that as I am still waiting after four hours. We were brought from one waiting area to another. The walk to the fast track room( should never be called this) was decorated beautifully.. so impressive!! How about taking away the fluff and provide more care for the patients. I am beyond disappointed! Let’s remember why we are at the hospital. My daughter is sick and we have been waiting four hours. During this time a child threw up in the waiting area and something was placed over it until maintenance could attend to this issue! Have no idea if maintenance came because we got called in after four hours. Really .. we are so concerned with germs and masks but vomit is okay. Five families sat in a small waiting room filled with germs. We finally got placed in a room to wait for a doctor; have not been seen yet! The room is dirty … and not well kept. The outside of the hospital is a beautiful display but the inside where the patients wait to be seen is unacceptable. Well as the old saying goes.. You can’t judge a book by its cover. I can’t tell you how this visit will end as my daughter has not been seen still! My daughter is older with a bit more patience but she is losing them . What about the children who are so young and sick? Something needs to be revamped! A very unhappy Mom!

A wonderful, caring, life saving facility off of Union Turnpike in Queens. Spotless facility with excellent security. Knowledgeable, concerned doctors and nurses. Excellent equipment, and perfectly equipped to care for children. My grandson has had several life saving surgeries here. I have also brought him here in the middle of the night and he was attended to, with all of his health concerns addressed. We are forever indebted to the doctors and nurses of this facility.

My son 4yrs old, spent 7 MONTHS in this hospital and had to be transferred to Philadelphia hospital bc they lack resources mostly Medications and professional doctors with care evaluation. As we comeback to Cohen they felt confident accepting him and he died 2 months later, apparently both hospital delay treatment of a blood infectious disease that could have been prevented. This hospital since pandemic has extremely failed especially pediatric ICU. Treating staph infection should not still be a issue and providing the duty and care to children. The staff has shown high level of incompetence and education. But are allowed to make decisions during evaluation and treatment of CRITICAL ILL CHILDREN,. My son became victim to this and this needs to be made aware Nationwide especially if we trust the hospital to care for our love ones, no Child should ever PRE DECEASED THEIR PARENTS. I can never get my son back and no parent should ever feel the pain in my heart I will have forever, very upset because reached out to every staff possible there to prevent this neglect from happening to my son. Beware of resident worker Shah, Mandel, Schneider in the pediatric ICU department. This hospital needs to be sanctioned or shut down. Too many ppl losing their lives there in the department. It's a crime towards humanity to have inexperienced workers in the hospital. Period ., The attendees are not qualified and made the decision to mess with my son medication that will jeopardize his life and these demons in here are doing ungodly things. Do not take your children here. On God.

Doctor Hercules Darrell need go back to medical school and keep study , how to give correct medication for children prescription medicine , when we going to pharmacy, the pharmacist said this is not for kid , it should be the liquid medicine, pharmacist call him , he is not responding, we have to run to hospital again asking for liquid medicine for my son , receptionist call him, he finally answered the phone , he said does your pharmacist know how to use this medicine? We don’t have this kind liquids medicine for kid in whole nation. Just crushed put in the juice give to you kid !! With this large pill?? After I run the another children hospital, tell the situation with ER nurse , the nurse said that is correct medicine , but not the pill . It should be kid liquid medicine ! How does 3 years old kid eat this large pill ?? Even as a child parents, we haven’t go to medical schools , but doctors really need keep going back to school study and gain the knowledge , respected other pharmacists and responding patient’s questions .

So I get to the ER with my son, autistic with multiple health conditions, for a 103 fever, vomiting and convulsions. The triage nurse rushed us through the assessment, and asked why I didn't give him tylenol and why I brought him to the ER...what? After waiting for two and a half hours, we get taken back to a room. The dr comes in, says he has a virus and why did I come to the ER....wow? We get discharged two minutes later and a nurse comes in to take a set of vitals. She had false lashes and acrylic nails and her hair was all down her back. What happened to OSHA standards and infection control? No wonder covid is still here! Never again will I bring my children here. What a big change since our visit in 2018.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone. Very bad experience. Waited at the waiting area straight 5 hours just to see the doctor. And finally when the doctor came, she was coming back and forth but not really seeing my babies. And told us we gotta wait more. She would need to run some tests so another couples of hours and after that we would have to wait for lab results. My point is why dont you guys take the patients first like every other hospital and start running all the tests you gotta run. That way instead of waiting 10 hours, i do everything in 5-6 hours. That’s ridiculous. They need to change there service.

I took my son to this ER and every last staff treated him professional and was very courteous. There was no long wait at all. I received a spot on diagnosed and an immediate follow up appointment. Unlike other Medical clinic emergency rooms the experience was less agitating. I personally would like to change my son's primary care at this Medical Center. Highly would recommend!

I really wanted to believe this was one of the best hospitals for children but after almost a month of trying to reach out to them for dental surgery for my daughter they have yet to get back to me. I have left multiple messages on the phone in the most respectful manner to try to reach out to someone so I could make an appointment for my daughter to get dental surgery done, I've gotten absolutely no reply. My mother even tried to reach out to them, leaving them numbers and names for them to get back to us. I can understand them being busy but they can't even call back to assure me that they got my messages. Her dentist recommended this hospital but it's been a very unprofessional & inconsiderate experience.

Today my daughter and I had disturbing experience with Cohen’s!! Throughout the years my children have come to doctors appointments and ER visits and it always was done in a pleasant and professional way, until today…. I took my 16 year old to the ER because she has the flu and is getting progressively worse by the day. We arrived at Cohen’s went through triage and waited in the lobby to be called in. We finally heard our name and a few other names called as well. A lady/staff member was standing in the middle of the lobby and instructed us to follow her. We all started to walk (like cattle) down a long hallway with our sick children. When we got to the end she told us to wait there and she disappeared for a few minutes. We all waited patiently with our sick children who are standing and waiting for this woman. She finally returns and asked us to follow her into an elevator. We were about 8/10 adults including our sick children packed into an elevator car. When we arrived we all had to walk again with our sick children down another hallway into another building into a lobby/pavilion with folding chairs. We waited patiently and they finally called my daughter’s name. We stepped behind a partition and they asked (my daughter) the patient, to sit down in a chair. They didn’t even have an examination table. The doctor asked why she was there and I explained. I also told the doctor that my other daughter (the patient’s sister) has Covid. The doctor wasn’t concerned about that nor that her patient has the flu. All she did was look down her throat feel her belly and rushed us out of there. They asked us to wait outside for registration to come and take our information. We had to wait for that then wait to get discharged. Then I had to walk back the way we came with my sick child, back to the ER lobby so I can pick up my car from valet. I took her to the emergency room so she can receive a more detailed examination and figure out why she’s getting worse and not better but I left confused, ignored and brushed us off. I don’t usually right reviews, but this involves my child’s health and other children health. This was unprofessional, expectable and inhumane treatment for the children and their parents. You’re dealing with children Cohens-get it together!!!😡

WORST HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN DO NOT GO!! 1 star because I had no choice. My son is 3 and was scheduled to have his tonsils removed, arrival was scheduled for 9:30am and surgery for 11am I got called because of a cancellation to come earlier we arrived at the hospital at 8am my son did not go into surgery until 12:45. As I was waiting in the waiting room there were other patients telling me how they had an appointment a month ago for their son and the appointment had to be canceled due to dirty equipment. This whole thing to me is so Unorganized, Most staff are unprofessional and should NOT be working with children huffing and puffing all night because they don’t have patients for children in pain. I did not have an emergency button on my bedside for nurse assistance I had to walk down the hall with my son every time there was an issue the Motrin and Tylenol he was supposed to be receiving was a problem as they told me they discontinued the Motrin for him and then had to keep calling the doctor because my son was very irritable and could not sleep. The last dose of medication before discharge was left with me to give because the nurse “Had too many things to do”. I will never be visiting this hospital and I 100% do not recommend this for anybody with young children.

My daughter recently had surgery here. We had to arrive two hours prior to the surgery time to prep her. Everything went as planned. I was greeted by the receptionist in the pediatric surgery wing who was very friendly and caring. The nurses were very friendly and showed compassion towards my daughter. She was taken care of and I have no complaints. From our experience they treat your child good here.

Very disappointed, went with my son this morning Who had fever and cough from Tuesday spending 3 hours waiting for the doctor to see him, and they just so he's throat and tell me he has phlegm , keep hydrated, clean his nose and take Tylenol sending him home with out any tests!! Then I call his pediatrician and ask if she can take him , because for me was no normal he be in fever for few days and yes they do the tests what the hospital didn't do , unfortunately My son tested positive for Flu !! Thank God I didn't go home and stay there waiting till the situation went worse. My question is what kind of profesional are they ??? They don't care about health

My son caught a virus and we immediately took him to CCMC. They take care of them and came home feeling well. I would like to give a special thanks to Gabriella from 2 Central for taking good care of my child. She was very passionate, caring, and sympathetic to her patients. She went above and beyond to ensure my child was comfortable and well taken care off.

I have heard for years, that Cohen Children's Medical Center was the best children's hospital in NY, and now I understand why! The care and attention we received for my 3 month old daughter was first class. Every doctor, and nurse we worked with was better than the previous. The bed side manner, care, and attention they had during our stay was exceptional. If you unfortunately need a Children's medical hospital, Cohens is the place to go to no matter how far away it is. Thank you to the staff at CCMC, truly a remarkable team, and world class service. Thank You!!!!!

If you care about your child Don’t go there. My son had a scheduled surgery 01/24/24 to correct his Sleep apnea; they removed the tonsils and adenoids. First of all I told the anesthesiologist that he was coughing the night before and she said he was ok to have the surgery. As per his surgeon the surgery went very well and that I will be able to see my child in few minutes, time went by and I saw my child almost 3 hours after I spoke with the surgeon. Happens that my child had a Bronchospasm after waking him up from anesthesia. I understand that things happens but the way they handled the situation was very unprofessional. They did a nose swab the next day after the surgery and told me that my son had Rhino virus, so my son was dealing with the pain and inflammation from the surgery, the Rhino virus and the sleep apnea at the same time. It was pretty hard for him, he looked pretty bad, couldn’t sleep well because he needed the CPAP machine as I was told by the respiratory therapists and the nurses but he had to go to NICU to be able to receive the treatment which the NICU staff refused to do so stating that my child didn’t need it. I asked to call rapid response 5 times in which they responded the first 2 and after that they told the nurses to call ENT instead, when ENT came I explained and they suggested that my child needed the machine but they were Residents only (as I heard from one of the NICU staff) so, they didn’t listened to ENT request either. So, the fourth time I asked them to call NICU again, they came over in the morning in which they weren’t able to see my child worst condition because my son got worst at night due to his OSA. The night before the 5 call, I made sure to record videos to show them that I wasn’t exaggerating my child’s condition. The surgery that I was supposed to be discharged the next day, took me 8 days with my baby in the hospital due to the incompetence of whoever people make the decisions over a patient well-being. I thank the nurses and Respiratory therapist that really care and showed concern about my son. I’ll post videos and pictures of my nightmare in that Place.

Your better off at a regular hospital. They will treat children better than a pediatric hospital. This was the best pediatric hospital growing up 15 years ago. I didn’t want to believe the negative reviews. This place is a joke!! I don’t want to single anyone out with names because it isn’t fair. Might be the way this place is being managed. Everyone seems miserable.

Working as a healthcare professional for the last 22 years at 2 different hospitals, I have to say in the last month I have been here with my 9 year old daughter 2 times, she was never here before. The waiting time has been reasonably understanding that you are call depending on your medical urgency. The nurses have been very professional, caring and compassionate. Nothing has been done to my daughter without my consent and without the attending Doctor authorizing it, and explaining to me the procedure. I found the best care for my daughter a parent can get, I will not hesitate to bring my daughter if I needed to.

Very good experience from ER to having my child admitted. You won’t find better care for your child. Nurses and staff are considerate and caring. If you have a lengthy stay, they have behavioral staff who come around and try to make your child more comfortable. They offer music and art therapy and good distractions if needed. Sometimes it’s just someone to sit with your child to ease anxiety. They take care of the parents too. The food there is better than I expected. I’m very picky, but I have to say the food was good. My only issue with Cohen was the large groups of nurses in training, doctors, residents etc. that come around during the week. It is a teaching hospital, so it can be overwhelming. However, you can request to not have so many people in the room at once if it makes you or your child uncomfortable. Everyone was professional and courteous.

Told to bring my child here only to be 'admitted' after a day of waiting only to be left in a freezing cold hallway all night and never given a room. Why keep accepting and encouraging children to come to your hospital if you have no one to take care them and nowhere to put them? Clearly Cohens just wants your money.

We came in for a bad case of croup. Dr. Teng together with his Team, which included Gina P. and Natalie R. and more, couldn't have been more helpful or supportive. They actually made a challenging night, pleasant. Thank you all. May G-d bless you all to always be on the giving end. So grateful to have had you all there when we needed it! PS - the walk home was delightful ;).

We brought my 3 year old to the ER for a condition that was misdiagnosed by 2 other doctors. They immediately figured out what it was and started us on a course of treatment. With one minor exception which was addressed, all the staff, doctors, and nurses were amazing throughout our 4 day stay. Really appreciate what they did to help her.

Broght my daughter by ambulance to Cohen's because she had an allergic reaction to the COVID vaccine. They kept her for hours and didn't do anything for her, not even Tylenol or water while she shook and shivered. We were charged and billed thousands for no service. They incorrectly billed as a generic allergic reaction and STILL refuse to correct the billing codes to COVID even though all documentation indicated she had a reaction to the vaccine. Why should the hospital get away with this?

Cohen Children's Medical Center deserves 10 stars. They saved my child's life. My son got life threatening bacteria which attacked his left leg. He got inflammation and infection of his muscles and bone. He suffered so much. Thanks to professional care which they provided to my son he can walk and smile again. Thanks to all doctors, nurses and assistants. You are my heroes! You are caring, understanding and professional! The best specialists! Also the center is a very clean and well-kept place. They have appropriate medical equipment adapted to the needs of children. Thank you for your dedication and concern for the well-being and health of the youngest patients.

I brought my daughter into the Cohens ED for projectile vomiting and diarrhea. The only good part about this experience was that I was registered and triaged in a reasonable amount of time 15mins. Other than that the service sucks. The doctors kept walking away without giving us any reasonable answers. The nurse we had did her job excellent. Unfortunately when she went for break her replacement or coverage nurse never camee to check on us or follow up with the meds that was ordered by the doctor.we didn't get any reasonable help after spending over 7hrs in the ED. The straw that broke the camel back was when the resident told us if we felt comfortable enough she will discharge the baby home..in conclusion the service was horrible and unacceptable.I will NEVER take my baby back to that ED.

horrible experience. I was there with my wife and my 8 years old son in the emergency room. if is a real emergency please try another different hospital, they don't take care of my son, they make him cry and the most worst part is he is autistic and he cant speak, the ophthalmology on duty discriminate and laugh to my son and they keep for surgery next day, because they say is not a real emergency, and it is a real emergency because he has a pc of metal inside of his cornea, this not an emergency? and they don't do anything on the hospital and they tell me many excuses and send me a different place for the procedure, not next day, they say maybe in one or two days someone will contact with you, this is ridiculous, LIKE Im was said that was a horrible experience we have in our life. I don't wish no one this.

Worst ER experience. Slow night at Cohens Children’s hospital but yet we have been waiting over 3 hours for head trauma. Daughter hit in the head with a field hockey ball. EMS recommended we go to ER. No sense of urgency here at ER and everyone works at a snails pace. Others here have been waiting for over 6 hours. Obviously this ER has gone way down hill since we last came here. The waiting room is half full. Hire more staff and doctors the wait should never be this long we haven’t even left the waiting room. Haven’t even come close to a doctor in over 3 hours.

Never again. We waited 3 hours early Monday morning … with my son crying in pain that he couldn’t walk and multiple unexplainable vomiting episodes that started after about an hour of waiting… but no one seemed to care , they gave us vomit bags because we asked but didn’t care otherwise… and then when we asked (after waiting about 2.5 hours and the third vomit episode) we were told that it doesn’t matter when we walked in, that it’s by “severity “… around then they called in 2 children that arrived AFTeR us, one of which was only waiting maybe 30 mins….. both walking talking playing… just didn’t seem as uncomfortable as my child Furthermore- they couldn’t tell us when we’d be called in… after 2 hours…. It’s so upsetting to watch your child in so much pain that he actually wanted to see a doctor … having to sit around in that pain… then unexplainable vomiting on top of that… We left. Even then- when we told them we were taking him somewhere else, they said to do what we were comfortable with…..Drove to Manhattan and was seen within 10 mins- ten MINUTES!!!! AND given a stretcher where he was able to at least lay down and sleep - and the ER doctor and assessments/tests came shortly after (minutes, not hours) NEVER AGAIN with this ER.

My daughter had to have an urgent surgery. Chose this hospital because they have separate waiting area for kids. Staff was friendly. Had to wait only 1 hour before we were called in. Surgery room was brand new, recovery area newly remodeled. Attentive nurses!

My daughter had a swollen ear but no infection as per the doctor at Cohen Children Hospital. We had a wait time of five hours and when finally we were discharged, the lady from medical billing told us that this is ER and not McDonald’s when we told her that finally we are relieved that we are going home after spending over five hours. The total time including wait time was over five hours. I felt like this is what we needed to hear after so long wait time. Please avoid if you can.

Our 2-1/2 year-old granddaughter fell and badly cut her lip. It was late on a Friday (1/12), we are home in Chicago and the tiny patient was in Brooklyn. We knew time was urgent, so parents and grandparents all got on the internet to find an urgent care or ER that was open; but they were either closed or said they didn't do stitches, and especially for a small child. Dr. Gomez, an ER doc at Wykoff, thankfully recommended Cohen's. After a few more calls I finally called Cohen. Reaching the ER, I got to speak with a nurse whose caring and deep experience were immediately obvious, even over the phone. After describing the situation and our many false starts, she said, "Bring her here. Just bring her here." And we knew it was the thing to do. This wonderful nurse got it! So our kids took the baby on the hour-plus ride to the hospital and were met by a doctor, a nurse and, when the time came, a "distraction aide" whose job was to keep the baby entertained while the providers did their work. Mom later reported that they knew they were in the right place when the doctor said, "It's your little girl's lip, it has to be perfect." A hard experience for this little family, but they were held up by professional, experienced and compassionate people. Late on a rainy Friday night, in Queens. Thanks to you all!

I love the valet parking it makes it very easy and accessible to the front entrance with a sick kid. The aesthetics of the hospital are nice. On this day the hospital was highly packed, but due to the nature of my child’s visit she was triaged and seen quick. I felt like everything was going well until it became very clear that it wasn’t. The Resident and the Nurses were understaffed and began to administer unnecessary medical practices to my child. She was seen in Urgent Care approximately an hour before being told to go to the E.R. because she didn’t have a regular cold. The Resident was quick to undermine the urgent care medical staff (which comes to find out they were right). We had a nurse assigned to us, but because of the swamped E.R. multiple nurses would assist. It was apparent that they were not taking her condition as seriously as they claimed it to be, and she was just another patient. The machine would go off over and over and no one would come until I went to get them and the couple of times, they came without me getting them it was because they had to give her something they didn’t realize it was going off until entering the room. Luckily, due to me advocating for my child and asking to speak to a doctor I was able to correct the issue. I simply questioned the doctor about their medical plan for my child and advised her of my concern. When she asked the nurse what the plan was the nurse unfortunately stated well, I stepped out and nurse X (not her real name) told me xyz, and to give her this medication every(x/hours). The doctor then looked at me and asked did your child experience xyz? I told her no, she confirmed what I said, come to find out she did not need that medication. When the nurse was asked did, she checks my child’s symptoms prior to administering the medication she said no. My child was admitted, but because of the overflow she had to stay in the E.R. until a room became available. I wanted to take my child elsewhere badly but because of her condition I was unable. Finally, her last 24hours she was put into a private room, and it was day and night. I loved it up there, she was not just another patient, she was cared for with love, the nurses made sure she had everything she needed as well as myself. I am not sure if I would ever take my children to this hospital again, they wouldn’t be my first pick.

I went to the emergency room my son was not able to breath properly. I was lucky I was the only one in the waiting room. They took me in gave me a solo room (not shared quarters). Then nurse came shortly after followed by resident doctor. Great communication and kindness! My son was so comfortable with them. Then doctor came by also amazing. They admitted us and the doctors and nurses in 3 Central were so great! All in all I’ve never had such a great experience when having a very traumatic experience with my son. Thank god for you all I appreciate it and forever grateful.

We were here with a 2 month old baby first for 3 hrs he had 100.7 in fever they never saw him then we came back at midnight he had 101.5 in fever and then after sitting in the waiting room for another 3 hrs his fever went up to 101,8 so after 3,5 hrs he still has not been seen. They are bringing in young adults that are limping before all these babies in the waiting room and all they have to say is sorry seriously this is the worst hospital ever there were so many babies in this waiting room and noone is being called in

We took our son because we saw he had difficulty breathing. We were triaged and in the ER within 15 min. After being in the ER for about 8 hours , he was admitted to Med 3. He was there for 4 days. Everyone was amazing. From the ER staff, to staff at Med 3. Nurses, nurse assistants, residents, supervising doctors , vital technicians, respiratory therapists, cleaning staff all helped us feel comfortable and made sure my son was getting better. Thank you so much !

Honestly never bring your infant here. I brought my 9 week old here who had a 101.8 fever. I arrived at 12 am and decided to leave at 7 am after not being seen. We waited 7 hours for my baby to be seen and he never was. All they did was give him tylenol and solved none of the issue. if i wanted to not find out the problem and just give him tylenol i could have done that at home. Decided to just leave and take him to his primary care since they opened at 8. Actually appalling how nobody seemed to care and every time i asked if he was going to be seen soon i got a shrug of the shoulder and an “I don’t know”. No sense of urgency for an infant with a high fever. Disgusting.

Honestly, I never write reviews but this lady was very rude. I don't know what I did to her. I was nice and polite. What really got me upset was I asked her to see what time my appointment was. Then she immediately hangs up after telling me... I had to call twice because i had to reschedule, so after the dates got changed she just hangs up.. how unprofessional is that.. can someone please look into this.

My son had a surgery yesterday & they were so good with him. Being that my child has ADHD they were very good with him , they took things slow and explained everything to me . They were patient & so nice.

Unfortunately we’ve had to spend time in NYU, Westchester Medical, Nassau University Medical Ctr., etc. Cohen’s wins hand down and it’s not close. The nurses are very sensitive to the needs of tired, overwhelmed parents, and frightened children! I’m not a nurse nor do I know anyone who works there. We’ve spent over 100+ days in children’s hospitals. Quick comparison: NYU has beautiful rooms with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the East river in some areas, but they don’t feed parents and charge for parking in Manhattan. Seems minor but it adds up over multiple days and sometimes weeks. All the money spent on beautifying makes the lack of minor investment in feeding a parent seem silly. That causes unnecessary stress to some parents at the wrong time and forces hard decisions for many. Cohen’s feeds you and your kid, has nurses who offer to bring food to parents who don’t wanna leave their child’s side, and offers free parking for families with a kid in a wheelchair OR undergoing surgery. We felt so bad for the parent of our child’s roommate in NYU, that we were offering to buy her food and/or watch the kid while she went out to feed herself. The fact that Cohen’s is sponsored by and named after my favorite team’s (Mets) owner (I know I know 😩), actually makes me continue supporting the team more. Thank you to the team at Cohen’s for being so sensitive to families! You’re doing plenty right! If what I’m saying seems minor, I hope that means you’ve never had to or will ever have to spend an extended period of time in a Children’s hospital 🙏🏾

1 star for the courteous attitude shown by the staff, they were very apologetic at the mediocre service they provide. I arrived at the ED at approximately 1:15am and informed the triage nurse that my daughter was having chest pain and has a known cardiac history (the cardiologist is within the same facility, that’s why I brought her in to Cohen’s ED). Vitals were done and we were told to sit down and wait to be called again , after 1.5 hours we have not been called. I get up to inform the triage nurse they now my daughter was having shortness in d breath. She repeats vitals and tell me she would add the new complaint , I was told to have a seat again . 2.5 hours later from my initial ED arrival we are finally called to the back and within 1/2 hour an EKG was done and found to be abnormal ( I did state at triage that my daughter has a known cardiac history , but I guess I was not taken serious ). 3 hours in and still have not seen an actual doctor. Then I hear over the loud speaker the staff paging for cardiology to ER(I guess they were unsure on how to manage the situation). A resident comes in to tell me they will order labs to make sure it’s not a heart attack (approximately 4:30 am labs were being drawn). Now I have mentally prepared myself that I’ll be there another 2 hours since we had to wait for the lab results. No one ever returned until the following change of shift , a different nurse to tell me labs were still pending . No doctors were available due to a trauma code they had , now I’m about 4 hours in since the labs were drawn with no results or doctor. By then I was extremely frustrated , mentally and physically drained. I asked the nurse to please let me sign out against medical advised , I’ll go home and follow up with the cardiologist. No one would allow me to leave, it’s like I was being held hostage. Yet, I was not getting any service either . The whole time my daughter was hooked on to the cardiac monitor the alarms were going off when her pulse and respiration dropped, no one was coming to check. I’ll have to ring the call bell for the nurse to come and turn off the alarm (I doubt none of it was documented). Overall experience if I had to rate the service 0. The best advise I can give is DO NOT go there . It is a teaching hospital the residents don’t seem to know what they are doing , if any emergency is happening everyone would run to go see what’s happening since it’s a teaching hospital and you would be forgotten until the residents come back from their field experience. Perhaps, in the past they were good. Now it is just a known name “Northwell” that gravitates people to go there , but there are many other hospitals in Long Island don’t let the name fool you into going there .

The best children hospital I’ve ever been. I had to bring my kids here a few times and it was like no other hospital the doctors don’t stop they do everything they can to make sure your child goes home in well health! The doctors and the nurses and all of the other staff need a raise the way the answers the phone and get you help I’m really proud of every member in the hospital that makes it Possible.THANK YOU DR.TANG for taking your time out your day to be a great doctor and helping me with my child

Dr. Uster and RN Janice , are amazing. They helped my son feel so much better. They were so sweet with him and loving, it made the whole experience great. And we didn’t have to wait long to see the dr and get treatment for him. I will recommend any parent to take there babies to this hospital. They will take amazing care of you.

Do not send your children here. Rude doctors who force psychiatric stay on teenagers who are not a harm to themselves or others. I wish I knew the name of the doctor here who evaluated me so I can report her, I will follow up with an update soon. I was forced to take medication or I was not allowed to leave. Thankfully I am 18 and at consenting age now. The mental trauma I have endured at this hospital does not make my situation any better. I am absolutely disgusted by how I was treated here and what I saw go on within the psychiatric unit. Would give no stars if I could.

My son received excellent and attentive care at the ER last night. Dr. Matthew Harris was not only attentive but was in multiple patient rooms and amazingly attentive to the needs of the patients. He provided excellent medical care and worked harder than any ER doctor I have ever seen!!

We went to the ER. The staff was great and we were seen quickly. They ran many tests which was great. 4 stars because they don’t have gtube buttons on hand or know much about feeding tubes, otherwise we saw everyone quickly. Both of his nurses were nice and attentive. Madison was very sweet, she went above and beyond. Ask for an itemized receipt when paying.

Came here with my 6 yr old for a stomach pain he had been having on/off for a couple of weeks. My pediatrician recommended me to take him here even though I had already gone to pediatrics ER at NYPQ on main st,Flushing, just in case I needed a pediatric surgeon on site. This was my first time here and I was a little hesitant because of the reviews. My first impression was the waiting area was big, clean, nice decor and the staff was really friendly. The gentleman at register even engaged with my son, making him feel comfortable. However, my negative experience started once inside. My son was placed on a bed in the hallway. 1. After an hr or 2 of waiting I had seen a room unoccupy. I went to ask the nurse when we were going to be placed in a room and he seemed as confused as I was. The hallway was where we were going to be for the entire time! The area looked like a maze, it was very disorganized. 2. That first hr or 2 I consistently had to get updates myself of when we were gng to see someone or have a nurse give him a hospital gown. I understand there is always a wait in the ER but just not feeling acknowledged makes you feel lost especially your first time there. My son was in extreme pain, consistently crying so when I finally got someones attention a nurse in a navy gown, whom I think might have been a head nurse came over and did not show kindness or comfort to my son the entire time. Instead when my son had his hand down his thigh in his pants because he has eczema and scratches, instead of her asking why, she just with a tone told him to take his hands out from his pants. I had to explain to her why he was doing that. 3. When the doctor finally came she didn't even introduce herself. She right away started asking questions and I had to ask her who she was. Dr. Khan was not comforting at all. She seemed like she didn't want to be there. Same energy as the nurse before. I was never told after after that I would not see her again and I would have a switch in doctors. 4. As the day went on I had a different doctor that was much nicer and friendlier as well as nurses. However, I was still annoyed that I was in the hallway because now, being so close to the automatic doors you had cold air coming in frequently. I had to tell them to move us which they did. 5. Though they did offer refreshments and snacks and gifted my son a toy. Overall my experience was not great. I'd rather stick to the ER at NYPQ.

I highly recommend this children’s hospital to any parent looking for the best care possible for their children. Everyone treated us with respect and kindness, and we received the best possible treatment during our stay here. Thank you for being there for us and with us at a stressful time in our lives.

After not being able to get through to set an appt, I went to the office to personally speak to the customer reps. Both women were very cordial and did everything they could to help me and my special needs son. They even called another associate clinic and spoke to them on our behalf to help us set an appt through them. Outstanding customer service! Thank you Cohen’s Children’s Med Ped Dentist. Note: They acknowledged that their phone appt system needs to be looked at on account of all the complaints from people not being able ti reach them.

I brought my daughter 3 yrs old for cough and fever that she has been getting for the past 10 days. She was placed outside in a stretcher in the hallway of other rooms. If patients are placed outside like this without proper care from a nurse, no one will ever come here to even check on you. My baby needed a blanket and I asked the nurse to bring it and he completely forgot to bring it. You are given two seats without any comfort. It’s very shameful you have to get this type of treatment for a small child.

What a horrible experience… untrained nurses and poorly communicating staff. Please do not take your child here. They are inconsiderate and rude. Their services are just as poor as their behavior. Save your peace of mind moms. Not worth putting your child through 7 hours of wait and 1:30 Hour of wait in the ER. Good luck with speaking the everyone from the senior doctor to the frontline staff. All are rude and think that they are great. Do not risk your child’s wellbeing and your peace of mind.

very disappointed, my 15 month granddaughter with special needs never got the medical attention she needed, A team of young residents without experience would treat her for her respiratory issues but did not understand her condition & never addressed them, She would be admitted for 2 weeks at a time and always a bad experience, I had to sleep with her because I couldn't count on the limited night crew. We never had doctor with experience in charge to speak with, they never contacted Cincinnati children's hospital where there are specialists for this syndrome which i've asked them to call many times. My granddaughter died in my arms a few days ago because of their negligence & inexperience in what her needs were. She deserved a team with experience and understanding.

I’m generally disappointed with this hospital, I won’t come here again, this is my last visit, the first and last every day they move you to another room and two more patients in the same room, when two patients are in the same room it’s very stressful and when you have a sick child and you’re moved every day a day to a new room just because of nothing I’m disappointed in this hospital I was praised for this hospital how can I stay in the hospital for more than one day not two days but several days in one room there are two patients and every day these patients change I don’t understand this at all and in the room unsanitary conditions everywhere, dirt in the toilet, absolutely unclean, there are simply no words This is so stressful

Went in there with my sick 10 year old son, we were waiting in children emergency, my son wanted to use the restroom when we went in there the security guard of emergency just came out of the toilet My utter surprise he left it all messed up and didn’t even flush.. and he told me ‘ U gotta flush’ when I said excuse me! The security guard said again ‘ u gotta flush’ My son was baffled and confused with this barbaric behavior and I was ashamed of a big men’s behavior infront of my 10 year old as we teach him otherwise. no wonder this wonderful hospital loosing its good name. Later I wanted to go and ask him for an apology but my 10 year old told me, I don’t think that will be of any use, If He( the guard) were that educated to understand he wouldn’t probably do what he did in the first place. I urge hospital authority to have their stuff take a behavioral training, I believe Hospitals, Schools should have the highest standards in all way. Still can’t shake this feeling off, real depressing.
