Decided last minuted to do the catacombs tour after seeing a sign on the street outside of the basilica. I am so happy that I went, it was incredible! I learned so much about the the city’s history. Nick, our tour guide, was so informative and was able to answer any question that was asked - also have to mention that he was really funny and kept the tour moving so smoothly. I highly recommend for not only tourists but for fellow New Yorkers!

Mike was a fantastic tour guide! We loved learning more about the city and appreciated the jokes he mixed in here and there. Great info and experience, would def recommend!

This tour was terrible they start out by deceiving you it’s not an actual tour of the St Patrick’s cathedral everyone knows. 2nd it’s a boring tour of Ronny talking and projecting useless photos on the ceiling. If I could have done it gracefully I would have left as soon as the actual tour started. Save your money there are a million better, fun and incredible things to do in NY skip this tour it’s not worth going even if there was no charge

We went here for the catacombs by candle light tour it was long and tedious and before, and multiple times during we asked to use the restroom they told us 30 minutes at most 40+ minutes later we had to walk out because he still didn't let us, he was more concerned about the rest of the tour not knowing about the restroom

I had a great time during this tour. I was just a little disappointed because everything seems so modernized. The character of the catacombs has disappeared a bit with the renovations. However, Kyle our tour guide was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and witty that he made the tour much more enjoyable. I recommend the tour if you ask for Kyle, he makes it, really a small adventure.

A must do for anyone who appreciates the art, history and cinematic history of this church. A particularly moving experience for Catholics on pilgrimage to NY churches such as ourselves. Our tour guide gave us lots of history, facts and tidbits about the church and its deceased inhabitants. A great value at $35 a ticket. Very blessed to have stumbled upon this tour while browsing the churches of NY. Highly recommend!

Dan was an excellent guide for our visit to Catacomb's by Candlelight. His knowledge and guidance while exploring the Church, Grounds, and Catacombs was exceptional! Recommend you take this tour if you have time while visiting NYC for a history lesson of the Church and area around!!

We did the Catacombs by candlelight tour. What was extremely exciting for us is that we did not realize there was a St. Patrick's Cathedral before the current one on 5th Avenue. So we could not wait to explore and hear about this first one. Although your imagination expected catacombs like Rome and other historic sights, the reality of this one is that it was modern day underground crypts. This probably should not be a shock since they are hundreds of centuries apart. That said, it was still enjoyable, educational and full of history. Mike our guide was excellent in his creation of mental pictures, sharing the history of all those who were or were not buried in the catacombs and just making it a engaging tour. I thoroughly recommend this experience

Took the St. Patrick's Basilica Catacomb Tour today and Kyle was the tour guide. I really enjoyed Kyle. He was very interactive. I was astonished by his, what seemed endless, knowledge of the history of the Basilica. And he was also funny and very friendly. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York.

So awesome! Catacombs by Candlelight tour was very informative, giving a lot of history and detail. Brittany was great, offering details to add to the information and seemed to really enjoy the church. She encouraged conversation and questions. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Manhattan! One thing I would have liked to see was just a few more candles to help illuminate the stones more to make them easier to read.

We are die hard self tourists, but Dan used humor, charisma, and a great verbal history tour to make this tour amazing. His talks were better than seeing the actual catacombs. Much love!!

The history of St Patrick's (and the transition that NYC was undergoing at the time....) is truly fascinating and Dan was an OUTSTANDING tourguide - knowledgeable, captiviating and quite hilarious at times. He kept a very large and diverse group of tourists & locals fully engaged and answered all of our questions in a thorough and humorous manner. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour both if you're visiting or live in NYC.

DO THIS! A great experience for visitors as well as New Yorkers (like us)! I thought I knew about St. Patrick's and its history. But then we took the tour. Our guide, Leo, was superb. Fun, engaging, very conversational with his approach. The Catacombs and church history are the very stuff of NYC. They really bring it to life. Who knew Delmonico's was the first restaurant in America? Who knew a wine merchant introduced opera to America? Who knew the bishop threatened the mayor if any harm came to this church? The colorful cast is entombed in the catacombs. And Leo made us feel like we knew them personally. One thing I especially liked was that Leo used a pocket projector to shoot pictures of the people entombed on the walls. Really brought the names to life I highly recommend this experience. The church and catacombs are a rich treasure. The history and what role the parishioners played in shaping NYC . . . all fascination

I was not sure what to do on a rainy Sunday in New York. We noticed this tour in our New York Pass booklet and decided to give it a try. I was impressed. Realizing catacombs in New York are different than under Rome my expectations purely cantered around the tour guide’s knowledge and information delivery. We had Tommy and he was excellent. Funny. Open. Intelligent and very keenly interested in the history of the area. Since he is from this area he also has personal insights to share. I posted a few 360 photos on Street View however you must see it in person to get a feel for the history. It sounds like Tommy will be researching more history to add to tours as time progresses. I am confident the tour will also get better. There is some outside and mostly inside locations. Some uneven floors and the height for my 6’2” frame was easily handled. Due to the historic nature of this venue wheelchair accessibility is not possible. There are stairs and some narrow places. One thing I should also note is there is lots of access to washroom facilities. For some that is important. Also don’t be shy about the Subway. We took it from midtown out to here and is was easy breezy. Nice area and safe to walk. People were friendly and helped us find our way there once off the Subway. Take care and enjoy this trip back into historic New York.
